Isuzu, Made in USA

My father just went to an Isuzu dealer and was
told that Isuzu trucks are made in the good ol USA.
Does anyone know if this is true ?

Any opinions on Isuzu Pickups ?
He has always bought Fords F150 model, however he
is unhappy that Ford now wants $28K and does not
build them as well, according to him. Is Isuzu any
good ??

    The Isuzu Hombre is just a rebadged Chevy S-10.

    The Honda Accord is built in the USA. HOWEVER the Honda, like the other Isuzu vehicles, are MANUFACTURED over seas and ASSEMBLED here.

    In my view it's still a foreign vehicle and it don't matter what badge is on it.

    Would you then consider the current Mazda B-pickups foreign, even though they're 100% Ford, screwed together in New Jersey?

    Worst vehicle ever owned - '86 Isuzu Trooper TurboDiesel. Broke crank and a rod at 38,000. Isuzu was impossible to work with. Previous vehicle was a Mazda pickup. Blew a head gasket just after warranty. Mazda was a dream to work with.
    I both cases, a recall was issued a year or so later for both motors. In one case (mazda) I felt 'taken care of', in Isuzu's case I ponied up for all the labor at the dealer (Isuzu paid parts) after a very long fight. Cured me from owning an Isuzu.

    If you drive lots of miles, on a newly redesigned vehicle, you might might be like me and be the first to discover defects......

    If the components of the Mazda are made in the US AND the truck is assembled in the US, then it's an American truck with a Japanese badge.

    Actually, I consider Canadian parts in vehicles assembled in the US as made in the US. (Like the Navistar diesel is made in Canada but Ford puts it in the HD F-series.

    With the way the economy is becoming more global,and we want to define EVERYTHING,we are all confused.What is made in the USA? Whatever the name,Izusu,Mazda,where do the profits go? Overseas I suspect,but surely Ford and Chevy are getting SOMETHING out of this.Izusu pickups are S-10's as Mazda's are Rangers.We all have a choice in maker and dealer.If we knew the deals all these manufacturers make with each other,we'd probably be rollin' our eyes.They don't care wether foreign or domestic,just make a profit!Look on any sticker these days,it gives the % of parts from what country.For me, it comes down to what truck and from what dealer.The advantage Izusu and Mazda have over true imports is parts,usually cheaper because they are shared domestic,not imported. With so many foreign vehicles made here,I cannot keep track of what parts come from where,so all this talk is just that,good ol' talk!

    The Hombre is a rebadged Chevy s10 p/u and is made in Shreveport, LA.

    Ford is the majority owner of Mazda (33.4%), and GM has a substantial interest in Isuzu, so some of tha money stays right here no matter where the trucks are made.

    I didn't think that 33.4% of anything was a Majority.

    it is majority when 7 other company's own 10%.

    That amount is also the minimum needed to allow the part-owner to override any other decision... it will not allow a dissenting 2/3 majority.

    In Japanese business law, a single outside entity cannot own more than 33.4% of a Japanese-incorporated firm. And as stanford said, it prevents the standard 2/3 majority vote.
