Hi guys. I'm looking to lease a Wrangler Unlimited, not decided yet for a Sahara 4x2 or a Rubicon 4x4. The 4x4 is not an issue to me, but both are on my list because different things (availability most of all).

Do you have any idea on how much will cost me if the Jeep is about 30,000? Do you have any idea on money factor or residual, etc? Please if you have any ideas it will be great.

This site has been great in helping me purchase a prior vehicle and now my Jeep Rubicon. I thank all that contribute and I wanted to do my part. I live in Tampa, FL and visited several local dealers with little to no give in pricing from anyone. Margins are skinny on this truck and Jeep is the only Chrysler brand selling. They had no motivation to negotiate. That was obvious. I looked up new inventory on jeep.com, found my truck, called a small town dealer over 200 mi away and negotiated a deal with no trade in over the phone. I gave them a bottom line price and told them I would drive the same day to pick it up if they agreed. From their point of view, they got a sale they normally would not get. I am over 200 mi away. From my point of view, I got a motivated dealer to work with me. They called me back in 20 min and agreed. I drove over that afternoon.
    This is what I got.
2010 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon Dark Slate Gray with satin carbon rims and the BSW off road tires. Optional equip was trailer tow group, auto trans, 730N Media Center (GPS, 30gig, U-connect, 1 yr Sirius), black freedom top, and $750 destination charge. Total bottom line MSRP was $36,180. I negotiated $33,180 and the $750 customer rebate was subtracted making the purchase price $32,430. Add in tax, title, license, etc and a $495 dealer fee after that. I had some cash down and got 4.99% financing on the rest. I was in and out in less than 45 min. A truely great small local dealer who treated me right. This thing is fully loaded and I am excited to get off road!
I was told they realized after negotiating the deal that Chrysler no longer makes Wranglers in the slate gray color. This was the only Slate Gray Unlimted Rubi left in all of FL, GA, MS, and AL. I was told had they realized this in advance, they probably wouldn't have agreed on the price. Could have been just BS but I knew this before they did by the inventory search on jeep.com and this message board. I dont care about the exclusivity, just love the color and I am sure they still made more than enough money off me.
I emailed, phoned and walked out of a half a dozen local dealers only willing to come a grand or less off sticker. I finally got one $3k off MSRP (plus rebate). Could I have got a better price? Who knows. Probably not in FL on this truck. If your looking, try calling an out of town dealer and stay motivated to negotiate. Thanks to the board for your help. See ya on the trail.

Happy trails and such . Did you really need a Rubicon ? How much rock climbing can you do in Florida ? I had a Rubicon for three years and have a 2010 Sport now. The Sport is all I need in Western Ny , and Martha's Vineyard. :)

Is this a good deal? 2010 Jeep Wrangler S with 23S, Dual tops, pwr conv and trailer hitch MSRP $26,855 I would have to order in much choice of color for $24,125 8- 10 weeks delivery? Good deal?
  • seerwrightseerwright Member Posts: 3
Your post is about a month old now ... I hope this is still relevant for you. Yesterday I bought a 2010 unlimited 4dr with 23S, black, soft top, Infinity sound+sub, 3.73. Price was 26,240 before taxes and $2,000 in rebates and incentives. They paid my two-year old trade-in off after some haggling, so no negative equity there. In fact, the trade-in reduced the selling price of the Jeep for purposes of calculating taxes, which I didn't know they did. Net effect was about $700 savings there. The long and short of it is that I think I got a reasonable deal (about $25k even) and it's exactly the Jeep I wanted. I need to add a tow hitch, but that's minor. I'm happy!

Thanks for the info in your post. I realize it's been over a month, but was hoping to use your deal as a benchmark for a deal I'm currently working. Could you clarify what your MSRP was and what you ultimately paid (excluding any impact of trade-in and taxes, but reflecting any rebates and incentives)? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm trying to determine what my starting point should be for an Unlimited with MSRP of $30,075.

I am working with a dealer on a 10 sport unlimited. they have MSRP listed on their web site for $26340 but say they added the lift kit to raise the price to $28888

Is the dealer installed lift kit worth $2500? I like the vehicle at the lower price (well duh) and if I get fair trade would be willing to do a deal. Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.
  • localhrox1localhrox1 Member Posts: 3
Actually it depends on the lift kit. Some are $500 and they go up to $4,500 for a good long arm kit that basically replaces the suspension and exchaust.

If you are planning on doing any off roading then I would recommend you get a basic setup and then do some research on the right kind lift for the terrain you will be doing a majority of your off-roading.

My guess is that they put in a budget boost 3" kit that won't hold up under serious articularion. Plus you are paying for them to install it in that price. Go to quadratec.com and check out their lift kits.
  • thecrazy8sthecrazy8s Member Posts: 8
My local dealership has at least 2 lifted JK's at any one time. They use both long arm kits and budget boost's. If you plan on lifting it, find out which type of lift they used, what the price is to get it done at another shop, and if it's the type of lift you want.

Some folks prefer the dealer to install the lift as you get a better warranty. My dealer offers 3yr/36000 on the aftermarket parts they offer and install.

If you don't need the lift stay with the stock Sport and save the extra $$.

would love to know what others are paying vs invoice on 2010 wranglers -- dont care about aftermarket parts -- bare bones -- 2011 are already on the lot-- I live in NE and want a 2010 (with the 0 percent financing). i crave numbers as edmunds states the selling price still over invoice -- i cant believe that as DGX has not had a good year and 40 plus percent of the cars they sell go to fleet sales.

I've been shopping for a new 2011 wrangler unlimited sport and came across a new 2010, which just hasn't sold yet. Dealer is offering 21,9 and comes out to 24,8 after fees and financing. Seems like a good deal. I'm wondering if I can find better or if this is about as good as I'll find.

Can I get a 2011 yet for near this price?

What kinds of things should I worry about with the vehicle, seeing as it hasn't sold yet? It's a manual, so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it?

I don't know, can you, have you tried?

You won't know if it's a good deal or not until you shop around.

    Hi Everyone,

We are looking to purchase a new 2012 JK Unlimited Sport model. Does folks have any advise on what they are paying at the dealerships. For an MSRP of $31200 would an offer of $27750-$28k be reasonable and feasible? Also how difficult would it be to get the tubular foot rests installed after market?

    Thanks for everyone's feedback.
  • fgxtomfgxtom Member Posts: 11
If you are a member of Tread Lightly you can get jeeps for 1% below invoice price with no negotiating. Some dealers are even giving 2% below invoice if there are near by competing dealers. Tread lightly is $60 to join. You get a cool sticker for your new JK and you support a good cause at the same time.

Thanks much fgxtom for your reply. Checked into the TL discount. Looks like my company also has a Chrysler affiliate program and I received a control # from Chrysler. But in MA some dealers have their price posted on websites already lower than 1% below invoice. Hence wondering if lot of Jeep buyers are doing better than that.
  • fgxtomfgxtom Member Posts: 11
2% below is the best I have heard on the JKforum. Lots of guys on there are buying 2012's. There is a thread hundreds of pages long just about 2012 wrangler purchases.
I hope you find a better deal. Remember to post the details here if you do. Of better yet, join jk forum adn post it there. You will find a bunch of new jeep friends, and pick up an expensive hobby. Dont forget the Jeep wave.

Thanks fgxtom. I was able to close on a deal which is around 3% below Factory Invoice for a 2012 Unlimited Sport S, Automatic, hardtop. Used the affiliate program to get the deal. Hope that helps others looking for a 2012 in New England area. We are excited to receive the new Jeep next week.

I purchased a new 2011 Jeep Rubicon 2dr for $26120 on 1/27/11. This Jeep is loaded with all options except leather and navigation and was stickered for 34K. I know everyone is hypoing the 2012's with the new engine and transmission but I am extremely happy with my new Jeep. Evidently Chrysler is giving dealers money to sell the 2011/s and my dealer discounted myJeep 8,000 plus

If you bought a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Fiat "special edition" model in the past year or so - or if you are a dealer who sold one - a reporter would love to hear about it. Please email PR@edmunds.com no later than Wednesday, October 10, 2012 with your daytime phone number and a brief description of the car and your experience with it.

People haven't been positing here for a while but I use this site and figured I would post my recent purchase so it may help others:

2013 Unlimited Sahara in Billet Silver (which I came to learn is currently one of the harder colors to get and which some dealers try to get a premium for)
Leather, duel tops, Connectivity group, Uconnect 430N, remote start, automatic transmission, supplemental air bags, cir conditioning, 3.73 rear axle.

    MSRP: $39,470
Dealer Installed Options: Hitch with wiring $795
    All-weather mats. $125.
    Total Price w/ options: $40,390

    Paid $37,000 less $500 rebate from Jeep=$36,500
Got good value for my trade too.

Rockland Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Nanuet, New York.

Won't post salesman's name (per Edmond's policy) but he is a young guy with a picture of his girlfriend off-roading in his Jeep on his desk.

    Good luck.

I am looking at a 2012 leftover Unlimited Sport. Only options are auto trans, connectivity group and sat radio. Total MSRP $28,125. Dealer is discounting $900 and Jeep is giving $1,000 conquest cash. Is this the best I can do with a 2012 in February 2013?? The wheels are base 16" and I will need to change them. I suppose the dealer is still sitting with this one b/c it is a true base unit, crank windows, etc. CARMAN, please advise. I am surprised they would not discount the car further. Help. Thanks

I would look up the invoice price on edmunds. I would offer them $500 under invoice, plus I would ask for the $1000 dealer cash. That woudl be a good deal.
I bought my 2012 in October of 2011. I paid $250 under invoice, there was no dealer cash at the time, but I did get 36 months no intrest. I did have to shop around for a dealer to give me a deal. But some dealers are volume dealers and others are profit dealers. It is up to you which way you want to go. I do not use a dealer for much other than waranty work, so I do not need the service a profit dealership provides, and their service is often better. Loaner vehicles, adn free extended warantys, adn free rides and food and stuff. I would have rather had the cash I had money to pay off the Jeep up front. So I put that in the bank. I got $652 in interest on that money last year. Hopefully will again this year and next so I figure around $1800 cash bak just had to wait 3 years to get it and only got it a little each month. On the upside I have been making the payments with out using savings, so when the Jeep is paid off I wil still have the cash.

    I am in Connecticut ( Hartford County/central CT ).
Just talked to my local Jeep dealer.
I want to place a SPECIAL ORDER for a :
2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition.

He offered me 6% BELOW Factory Invoice if I place the order tomorrow.

How good a deal is this ?

I am paying cash with no trade-in

That sounds great to me. Go for it!

Dealers here in Dallas will barely go 1% under invoice. I want to pay cash too for mine but that does not matter to the sales guys I have spoken to...

WOW that an amazing deal. I am going to my dealer today, here in NYC, and I am sure he will in no way match or even come close to this.
cthuskie, could you please tell me your dealerships name? I would make the trip?

    I want the RUBICON 10th Anniversary 6pd.

YES, it is almost May, but there are a few 2012s still on dealer lots. 2014s will be here in August. How much of a discount should I expect on a 2012. I am looking at a Unlimited with an MSRP of just over $31,000. Please advise. Thanks

Went to the Jeep dealership in Grapevine Texas. New Sport Unlimited:

Dealer started at 29,900 but actually tried to sucker me into 84 months 499 payments. As soon as I saw that I left.

I would echo the same sentiment as the other folks - please let me know what the name of the dealer and sales rep you used that gave you 6% below dealer invoice. I'll be looking to get a wrangler in the next few months. I live in MA so the drive would be reasonable. I appreciate your help in advance.
