You can get a nice RAV4 V6 Limited for about $27k if you shop. And the I4 for $1500 less.
For reference, I'm located in Roanoke, Va.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since I am guessing that Roanoke is in the SE region try this:
Go to www.toyota.com , go to build and buy and enter your zip code. This should show you the SE region stock which is 900 RAV4s in or coming in. from there you can see what your dealer or other dealers have by playing with local zips. SE region has awefull prices and fees. If you are flexible and go to www.fitzmall.com you can get your RAV4 for $200 over invoice + $99 fee. in Baltimore MD.. Fly up there on a Southwest internet fare for $50, they bring it to the airport and you might save $1000 or more versus your local dealer. lots of people on the net have done it. One guy all the way from Little Rock, AK!
Good luck
Is the a "special" zip code for the midwest region? (Or other regions for that matter). (If I enter my zip code the build your own tool acts completely differently, and does NOT show any inventory info whatsoever.)
I am after a Blizzard Pearl, V6 Limited, tow pkg, three rows, taupe interior, sun roof, and am having a devil of a time in the midwest region. (But I am being quoted $700 over invoice, Costco price, when/if they find one.)
I was a little bummed that I couldn't get the security system or auto-dimming mirror. But I guess I can buy and install the mirror myself. The vehicle is silver, that was the 3rd of my color choices (Red and Flint Mica were tied for 1st).
Thanks for that tip. I just saved $88. by going to trdparts. Their prices beat the hell out of my local dealer's. What a great deal! I'll let you know how the rest of the purchase goes. I assume you have bought from them.
Thanks again
Rob
SE region is the only one I can find that shows all the cars.
But if you go to buil and price for your zip code and ones close to you and select dealers then you can go to the web site of each dealer and look at "new inventory". The trouble is it can be tedious and some dealers show the cars but not the options. But if you looking for a Limited with 3rd row it is going to be in the $30. In the NE they only come with leather as far as I can see.
Have fun
This car has some zip for a 4 cyl. and very fun to drive!! I think I got a decent deal?
Enjoy
Yes, I'm very happy so far. This vehicle drives like nothing I've ever driven before. I have a bad back and the lumbar support is unreal. I think I could drive for hours without getting a sore back. I'm very impressed!

It is in that gorgeous Savannah metallic color (champange) with a tan leather interior. Took 5 weeks to arrive.
It is a 2007 V6 RAV4 Limited, fully loaded (leather, moonroof, JBL with blouetooth, heated seats, tow package, mats, cargo mat, etc).
The only option they did not get was the entertainment center.
Guess family really is everything
I made a mistake on the length. It was the 2006 that got longer and the 2007 is the same length.
I live in NY too. if u get the car @ Fitzgerald Auto Mall, r u need to go to there to pick up the car, or they can delivery to your area to u?
Where are you in NY?
Also, focus on how much less than MSRP your are paying. MSRP is known and can be found at the Toyota site for any model and option. If your gettting more than $2000 off invoice and not paying any high fees you are starting to approach the sweet spot of RAV4 pricing at least for now.
You are not getting the car at dealer cost. You are getting it at a good market price at Fitzmall.
If you can wait, do it. Sales are slowing and prices will come down. But if you find what you want and want it, Fitzmall is a good as you can get.
No one seems to sell RAV4 for a lower price than fitzmall unless you know someone in fleet sales etc.
You said;
If your gettting more than $2000 off invoice and not paying any high fees you are starting to approach the sweet spot of RAV4 pricing at least for now.
Wish that were true. I think you meant MSRP.
Didnt have much time to hold out becuase I had to register my old Rodeo in Missouri and it wasnt going to pass MO inspections. Anyways Im happy with the purchase, dealer was very helpful finding what I wanted.
Should be here in a week or so~

2007 RAV4 Limited 4x4 V6 w/ JBL w/Bluetooth, 3rd Row Seat, Tow package, floor mats, Rear bumper applique.
Paid Cost Breakdown:
Car 27000
Document prep fees 45
Sales tax 2096
DMV electronic file 28
License fees 176
Registration 63
CA Tire fees 8.75
TOTAL $29416.74
In hindsight, I think I got an OK deal considering the rarity of the model and options i wanted in my region but I wish I started at a lower beginning price (say, invoice of $26000). I think I could have gotten it at a better price considering what I've read on this forum with people getting it close to invoice or below. All i know is if you stick to one fair price, the dealer will probably end up selling it to you. The sales manager tried to go in between the MSRP and my firm $27,000 3-4 times to no avail.
Has anyone else purchased a similar third row RAV4 Limited V6 4x4? What did you pay? Do any fees above look excessive? Any other negotiating, research, tips to share for my next vehicle purchase?
In the east there is no problem getting a RAV4 for $500 over invoice if you work at it a little. And I am not talking about just taking anything. I am talking about getting what you want. You may wait a month or two but you can get it. Except for Limited with leather and RAV4 with 3rd row. Hard to find. And it is possible to get what you want close to invoice if your lucky. Remember if you pay invoice the dealer still probably makes a $1000 on a well equipped RAV4 in the end. And you can buy at a mall and your local dealer will be glad to see you if you have a problem and need service. They get paid by Toyota to fix stuff.

The other quote is for the same options minus color ($220.00) (different dealer) 28200.00. Has the color that my wife wants coming in, in a few weeks he believes since it is in transit. We'll see. First dealer will credit me back the TDA the seecond dealer will not. This seems to be the biggest price difference.

PS thanks this is a great site for open communication on these purchases!
