I did it through internet and over the phone. I am in Indianapolis. There was a $500 rebate for purchase, or a lease special. I went with a lease. I believe the purchase price of the car in the advertised lease special was around $30.2, if I backed into it right ($30,213 - $1800 down + 550 acquisition fee = $28,963 advertised cap cost). I think the money factor was about a 1.5-2.0% annual rate. But, the $30.1 was the quote I was given before I decided to lease, and they used that price for my lease as well. I don't know what Nissan was kicking back to the dealers for this, but I was happy with the deal. I think both incentives expired 1/31.
This is the second car that I have purchased using the internet and the phone. The first one I was able to get at $100 over invoice. I think a lot of dealers will give you a price close to invoice for internet deals.
We are a family of 5 (3 kids) and are debating on the Pathfinder or Armada.... What I really like about the Nissan vs Honda is that you have control over your options. Don't want leather, but want all the toys? No problem!
The Ody is great as far as interior space for the kids, but you won't be seeing it much cause it'll be in the shop for so many little things. Not to mention all the fun road trips you'll be missing out on cause your brakes and trans will be acting up. Bye-Bye Honda.
i'm not sure if its the best price or not as the 2005's are getting snapped up but please if anyone else is getting a beter price let me know .
I am in the market for PF 2006 LE 4WD model. Any one has recommendation for Chicago Area dealer?
Anyone had compare Pilot EX 4wd vs. PF LE 4wd, Please share your experience. Thanks...
Am struggling a bit trying to decide between mpg for Hybrid vs additional $4000-6000 upfront price. Also am a bit concerned about long term reliability of Hybrid.
Have a 97 Pathfinder SE with 180,000 miles and am just now starting to have first sign of problem (probably will need some transmission work, but it has spent most summers towing my ski boat on weekends). So overall I believe my Pathfinder was exceptional value for the money. Currently averaging about 15 mpg with mixed driving and getting tired of paying the gas price.
Wife really liked the new Pathfinder during the test drive and she is strongly leaning towards the Pathfinder.
I would be interested in anyone's thoughts regarding:
- actual mpg on '05/'06 Pathfinder LE,
- recent prices paid for Pathfinder LE with leather, moonroof, BOSE, etc (please indicate if price included NAV),
- expected price reduction for '05 vs '06,
- value of paying the extra price for the Hybrid.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I'm not a real big fan of Consumer Reports (They seem more interested in telling you what you SHOULD like rather than what you WILL like) but they had a recent article on hybrid vs. conventional. Bottom line - if you want a hybrid's better mpg, it's going to cost you more than what you save on gas.

I live in South Florida (Pembroke Pines area to be exact) and I was looking for some advice on dealer experience in the area and if someone bought a Pathfinder the way I want mine if they can share their purchase price (out the door price).
Thanks.
What was the last rebate available for 2005s?
I presume the 2007s will start showing up in August so a 2005 should be discounted pretty heavily.
From the past reviews I saw there are some salespeople or associates that responded to the board and was hoping someone could answer a couple of questions for me. I qualify for the VPP price and was wondering, about how much a 2006 Pathfinder 2WD SE with comfort and premium package would be through VPP? Is the VPP really any value or just an advertising ploy? Is there still room for negotiating with the VPP? If the price is not negotiable, is it possible to have them include some dealer add-ons? I think the 2005's didn't get an increase of the $500 rebate until late in the year, could I expect an increase in the next 2 months?
Thanks for any help in advance!
I'm in South Florida if that makes any difference.
The Supplier's VPP will equate to just a bit under Dealer Invoice. Dealer-installed options are not a part of the program, so those will be at full price. There is no room for negotiation.
The Nissan employee program takes more off of the Dealer Invoice, but everything else is the same.
I've already bought 2 Nissan's using a Supplier VPP program, and will be buying your identical car later this week.
Now, as they cannot negotiate with these prices, watch out if you're trading something in (they gotta make $$$ somehow). I recommend going in with a printout from both Kelley Blue Book (kbb.com) and one from Edmunds.com. They only wanted to give me $4k for my 2000 Xterra, but my documentation showed that the trade-in value was between 5,600 and 6,100. Just to get out of there in a timely manner, I let it go for $5k. They're locating my vehicle right now, so that should be waiting for me by the time I get off work.
I got a brochure from the nissanusa.com website, not through Edmunds.com
934 dwn(1st mos ,about 400 capcost reduction lisc fees)and 420.00 per mos12 k 39 mos. This included the tax.
Seemed like the best deal we could manage here in NYC..
what do you think?
- LE loaded with all options except NAV.
- Sell price at $32,010 (over $900 below dealer invoice)
- No Cap reduction
- payed all taxes and fees up front ($2,500)
- Standard Nissan 39 months.
- .00050 money factor
- 15,000 miles per year.
- Residual @ 50% $18272 (50% LE's 52% SE's)
- $399 per month lease.
- Very happy.
BEST part is leasing dealer pulled truck out of another dealer's inventory who said I was crazy to think anyone would let that truck go for almost zero profit.
LOVE THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH.
Great "no thrills" dealer... does this all the time... said he goes deep into hold back money if he has to to move one more unit before the month is over.
I figure that was a smoking deal.
Depends how you rate it too I get 1 year of free service including 3 oil changes plus tire rotations and next years inspection. All tolled probably a $100 value but the best thing is the treatment with a ride home and possibly a loaner car if needed.

Would you please advise me on how far low can I go with dealer negotiation for SE or Offroad version ?
Please I would grateful if you can share your buying and negotiation experience.
Got a Silverton Blue 2006 Pathfinder for $23K. After all said and done, the lease came out to be 39months, 15K miles per year, $512 down (which included first months payment), $289 a month, they threw in the pinstriping as well.
This car is going to work out great for my family. Just to add for those who done know, Nissan does not charge any drop-off charges when you return the vehicle.
I am very happy with Nissan so far with the safety features they include standard and small things like no drop-off charges at the end of the lease (besides tires, damage, etc.)

Comfort/Convenience Pkg

Splash Guards
Floor Mats
All-Season Rubber Floor Mats
Cargo Area Protectiong
Cargo Net
Red Brawn Pearl
Graphite Leather
OTD: $32,100 (INCLUDED 6%PA Tax, $141 DMV fees)
Not sure if this is a good deal, since the Dealer included the $500 Rebate in the price because I told them I would go with my Credit Union @ 5.9% instead of going with Nissan's 5% for 60 months.
Should I take delivery?
Any advice?
Thanks
I was happy with my SE-sunroof & bose for about 800 under invoice after the trade and discounts were adjusted into the mix.
Regards
Cris
Good luck.
Thank you so much for your response. Just want to confirm, that this is a clean deal. and this is around $30,041 plus tax and tag. This is a SE, not a LE btw.

Thank you for seaching up the old post. I am going to visit the dealer tomorrow for one last time and if thing works out... maybe i will take delivery.

LOVE the truck. Got 15mpg at this point. I heard somewhere people claim the mileage will improve once you get 2-3 oil changes. True?
Good luck!
Memory seats 1+2
Wood trim panel
Side Airbag
Anything else? Do not want Nav and DVD (already have that in my Lexus GS300)
What have you paid on your Pathfinder Warranty Plans?
I was quoted $1095 for 5yrs/100,000 - $0 deductible.
please let me know what dealership you got it from...
thanks....
I would seriously consider purchasing one after the 3yrs/36K is up, via AAA Warranty program. I got burned pretty BAD last time when I went with a non-manufacture warranty who later took the money and ran.
Either way, think about it before buying the warranty, there are so many exclusion which could make your "peace of mind" become a POS!
Do you know what would be the reasonable price for 2006 Pathfinder SE 4x2 with comfort package.
Thank you.
2006 SE 4x2 /w Comfort Pkg - Granite Metallic
MSRP: $28,850
Invoice: $26,642
TMV: $26,921
Here is what I would offer the dealer:
OTD (Out the Door) price: $25,206.32 included TAX/TAG
Your Target Price should be right about: $26,778.16 (OTD)
I calculated this number based on a 6% Sale Tax in PA, 2% Nissan Dealer Hold-back, $500 Nissan Rebate (if not use the 4.99% Finance offer), Tag/License $100. A lot of assumption being made here: you pay cash? pre-approved finance before purchase? What color? What other options you want?
Good luck
Thanks for your informative mail. In addition to the SE 4x2 w/ comfort package I would take mats, splash guards and side molding. Which will add another 300 bucks.
I prefer any color other than white, black, red and green. Actually I have to pay 2.75% sales tax for DE. I need to finance portion of the cost. Do you thing OTD price of 25,000.00 is reasonable or am I too optimistic?
Thanks,
$29,270
$26,947
$27,240 (-$500 = $26,740)
Here is what I get based on my calculation, given the 2006 is LAST YEAR model by now! The longer they keep that Truck on their lot, the more money they lose...
Low Ball Offer: $24,720.53
Their Tru price: $25,908.06
Your Target price: $26,745.27 Anything ABOVE it is no good!
I would try to email ALL dealers within your 100 miles. Tell them you will deal with them ONLY if they give you OTD Prices. You will not come to their dealer until you get the Price from them.
To thing about it, you tell them you want this truck on their lot if they have one, for $25K OTD. Let them work their number. You only go up from your $25K. $100 at the time. Only UP your offer if they DOWN theirs. Do it through EMAIL.
Some dealer's Internet Dept. are also looking around on this forums and others. So keep things short!
Good luck
I've been holding out for a red brawn or majestic blue Pathy with desert interior and navi but that combo has proven very hard to find in Washington State. The new color may be a worthwhile option.
Love to hear your opinions on it... thanks.
SE Comfort package
Rear Side Curtain Air Bags
Wheel Locks
Floor Mats
Side molding
Pinstriping
Paid $27,000 +TTL (including $500 rebate)
What struck me as odd during our search of vehicles in the area, is that very few of them are ordered with the side air bags to protect the rear occupants.
Considering that the rear seats are small, isn't it an assumption that kids will be located in the rear, and wouldn't it make sense to protect them?
All dealers I talked to said most buyers don't want the added expense and never ask for them.

I want to lease a 06 or 07 Pathfinder LE with NAV and XM radio. I built it and it priced out at $38,800. I have NO clue what to offer the dealer. I am soooo confused about haggling. Can anyone help?
Read Remar Suttons book "Don't get taken every time" (1981) may be updated on amazon or check your library.
Do it and get competitive quotes and forget for the most part the "haggling"
