Would have been an awfully slow fire engine!

Nope, the current Thema is a re-badged Chrysler 300. The re-badged 200 is sold as the Lancia Flavia>

My dad has a 200c so she may get to ride in it when she visits.
Your SIL's name is Lancia? :confuse:

That's a relief, I though it was "200"... :P
Everyone should have the pleasure of driving a 50s Lancia sedan or 70s Lancia Stratos rally car just to know how advanced, capable and thrilling these cars used to be.
Speaking of rare Lancias:

I would really consider putting some kind of screen on that snout.

That looks gorgeous. I think it is French post war from the lines, but not sure of coach-builder or underlying chassis.
The shadow just below the top of the screen, makes me think it might be a Sedanca De Ville rather than a coupe or sedan body. However they pretty much disappeared before the second world war, so suspect it is a coach-built vehicle

This has been niggling at me all afternoon. Sort of like a Chapron body, possibly on a Delahaye chassis. But I am not sure that is right.
There was also a gorgeous body on a Talbot Lago with approximately this shape to nose, but proportions look wrong.

Saoutchik was probably the most flamboyant of the French coachbuilders that dominated auto styling during the 30s and 40s. Changes in French tax laws killed their business in the 50s and the Italians took over.
The pictured car went for $1.8 million @ Barret-Jackson last week.

They sold Kadetts in Brazil as Chevys, and that looks awfully familiar.
They're bigger than Corsas, about a size up.
I remember a family friend had a new LeMans, ca. 1988-89. I don't recall them having any big issues with it (of course, they dumped it by 1994-95 or so), but it was definitely built to that low price.
Sold as the Vauxhall Belmont when I first went to Britain in 1990. IT was just an Astra with a boot.
Oddly, we have just sold mum's Astra from about the same era, as she is no longer driving. I was too terrified of the risk to pass it on to any of her grandchildren and was grateful to get $1,000 for it. Driving it is a real reminder of how much car safety has advanced in the past 25 years.

BIGGER!

I don't see any 57 Chevies :shades:
Are you talking about that red car in front of the French Shriner sign. That's no Chebby, it's a Buick, a '58 I think.
Keep 'em coming. :shades:

I don't think so, they didn't share platforms so much back then, if Buick were to share platforms w anyone it would most likely be Olds.
They shared things like steering/brake components but each division had it's own motors and (IIRC) chassis.
