Hmm...I want to say Fiat 127, but something doesn't seem right.

    G'day

Not a Fiat 127 as rear engined and intakes for engine air on C/D pillar are two high for 126 or Polish equivalent. It is also a bigger care than the 126, which had its roots in the Fiat 500.

The rear end and general stance screams Fiat 850 derived. I will guess something by SEAT or Autobianchi.

    Cheers

I'm really stumped, it's like a missing link between the Fiat 850 and the 126 or 127 except that no one seems to know what it is. I've checked every website I can think of and I can't find it.

    Good one Fintail

    G'day

That was certainly hard. I think we could all see the Fiat roots, but I cannot recall ever seeing one. The Netherlands location and country plate (NL) were also a challenge.

Having worked my way through the Autobianchi and Seat models, from the 1970s, I think it is a SEAT 133, derived from a Fiat 850 with overtones of Fiat 126. I gather they were also made in Argentina and Egypt. IN Northern Europe, they were apparently sold as Fiats. Never seen one

    Quite a challenge

    Cheers

Well done Graham - it is indeed a Seat 133 but was sold in northern Europe - including the UK - as a Fiat 133. I think the name was Fiat in markets where the Seat brand wasn't established.
It seems to have been pretty much a rear engined 850 with the some glazing and panel interchangeability with the new 127, and bridged the gap where the old 600 had gone as the car was a fair bit cheaper than the 127 or 128 which were of course new and modern by comparison.
We didn't get the Seat brand in UK until about 1984 when the Ibiza was introduced, followed by the Marbella and Sorrento, I think. The latter two were basically reworked Fiats but the Ibiza was a more modern design.
I knew someone at college in the late 70's whose girlfriend used to have one of these cars- I had a lift in it a few times and it was nothing memorable but they must be really rare now except perhaps in the drier parts of Spain where the rust wouldn't have got them.
Funnily enough I was in Spain last week and looked out for old cars - only saw one Simca 1100, a Seat 127 van and a couple of 80's Seats - nothing exceptional.

It's a new one on me but I found it. What a difference it makes when you know what you're looking for.

More on the SEAT/FIAT 133 here.

There were a couple of hundred designs based on using the chassis and powerplant of the original Mini. Some moved the engine/transaxle behind the to create a mid engine sports car, I believe this is one of those clothed in some fiberglass bodywork.

I don't think I've seen a Limo that wasn't white in 40 years, except at funerals.

I've always thought there was something elegant about the '54 Chryslers, before they went all "finny". That one's a stretched New Yorker.

well, it took something this weird to find one that didn't get ID'd within 10 minutes.

it is a 1985-1990 Owosso Pulse. a little bit about it:

What Makes it Awesome: Once used in an advertisement for Coors beer, the Owosso Pulse looks like a jet but is actually powered by a Yamaha or Honda motorcycle engine. The Owosso's creator, a kitplane designer named Jim Bede, considered it a to be a roadgoing version of his airplane designs.

What Makes it Obscure: Despite being remarkably thrifty with fuel, the Pulse saw limited production. Current estimates put about 150 left on the road. Maybe.

Huh. That's rather interesting. Strange, though, that the driver seems to be in about the middle of the car, a hell of a long way away from the windshield, and no way in hell he can see where the nose ends.

Anyway, it looks very Honda'ish in the nose and tail, but I doubt they'd be so bold in the styling overall. Hmmm... maybe something Korean... :confuse:

Give you all a hint... bigger than a Fit, smaller than the Crosstour, and will be placed in the lineup right between them. It along with the CR-V will be getting the all new Diesel engine coming to the States along with the normal 4 cyl.

Estimated price is going to be $18-$24k depending on trim levels.

it is a little goofy, but I am a sucker for small hatchbacks, and for some reason I kind of like it.

With the right powertrain (such as that diesel) it could really be interesting.

Yes it is a Honda, Yes it is Civic Based.

This is the new 2014 Honda Civic Sport Wagon being unveiled at the NY Auto Show. From what I have read, its main target is the Ford C-Max, Mazda5, Toyota Prius V size comparision. It was originally going to be called the Fit Shuttle. Details are still coming out.
