Bro if you're gonna be a jerk about it then just keep your mouth shut. Just curious to see how I did so I know better for next time. All the other info doesn't matter. The msrp is what is and bottom line number is the total dollar amount I'm paying for 36 months soup to nuts which is 12k. The standard version ex-l in one dealerships lot is the same as the standard version ex-l model in the next dealers lot down the block.

A friend of mine works at Honda and he said his GM could offer me an EX-L with $2500 due at signing, 3yr/36k for $250/mo. I do not have any others details then that, but should I follow up for more details?

Is it the I4 or the V6 version? Does the 2500$ include taxes and other fees? Are you in NY?

Here is what I can tell you. I just got a 2012 coupe ex-L 4 cyl without navigation. I'm paying $325 a month for 36 months and 12k mile a year. I gave first month, $75 doc fee, and new plate fees upfront so my upfront cost was about $620 then I drove off. I know for sure now that I could of gotten the car for atleast $5 a month less but that's not really a big difference. I'm in NY and the sales tax here is about 8.5% but the 320 a month quote was from a nj dealership. REMEMBER.... 2013 accords will have a new body style in september so use that to your advantage and get a better deal than me. No dealership wants last yrs model and even worse an old body stlye coupe. If you need anything else feel free to ask.

Edit: forgot to mention I have tier 1 credit over 720

If you have to know - no, you did not, but I agree with pagasus17 - it is too late now to do anything. Just enjoy the car. In the future you may want to go to trucar to find a good price, find out MF and residual value on this board and use one of lease calculators available on the net to calculate a good price.

With such friends who needs enemies. $285-$300 per month with everything included is a good deal for a 4 cyl EXL.

Posting these two links for comparisons sake. This weekend should be prime for a good lease deal.

Remember, every state has their own rules on taxes and doc fees so you can't simply compare one deal to another.

I leased an Accord EX-L V6 (MSRP ($30,520) this week in NJ for $325/ month all in + DMV fees. A decent deal, I could have done a little better but didn't want to keep arguing/negotiating.

    Hi,

I just wanna ask if I should get the lease deal for Honda Accord EX-L 4 cyl w/o Navigation (Car is black on black, auto, leather) for $2,000 due at sign and $230 for 36 Months (35 payments) 12K mile per year including tax and everything in NJ.

That sounds like a great deal to me. I recently financed an Accord SE, but they had offered me that particular model for $222. per month, with $1,000 down. You are getting more car for a couple bucks more, so it sounds like a good deal to me. Good Luck.

    Hello!

I was offered the following deal yesterday on an Accord Sedan EXL, leather, auto...and am wondering if it's a good one, considering the Accord body style is changing in 3 months!

    3 year lease
    15K miles a yr
    $298 a month
$2500 down ($1500 fees and $1000 down payment)
I'd pay $10,800 by end of lease
    Buy-out is $15,578
    Sticker rice is around $27K

I also drive a lot (about 20K miles a year) and the price per mile of overage would be 15 cents. I'm not clear if it's a bad idea to lease if I know I'll go over. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Based on the following advertised price in OH, I'd say that is a horrible offer you were made.
    http://www.vosshonda.com/specials/new.htm
Adding 15/month for the extra mileage (15k vice 12k) and another 15/month for the reduced down payment (1000 vs 1500), you get ~229/month (pre-tax)
Also, 1500 for fees on a lease is too high. What state are you in? Remember, lease fees/taxes vary by state and could be significantly different.

I'm in NJ so the fees are that high here. At least multiple dealers gave me the same number and said it was not negotiable.

I just got my car and ended up getting the EXL for:

    $300/month
    $3000 down
25K miles per year (I drive a lot)
I'd pay $13,300 by end of lease (including down payment)
    Buy-out is $15,700
    Sticker price was $29K

What's done is done and I'm pretty happy with it!

FYI, for your next lease: Doc fees in NJ are completely negotiable. Not sure why your out-of-pocket was so high. It is NEVER a good idea to put down more than 500 on a lease even though you end up with a higher monthly payment. Yours is high enough already due to some poor pricing by your local dealers. Curious how much the extra miles cost you and was this a Honda Finance lease?

Using a local advertised lease deal mentioned a few posts up (voss honda),
    $304 per month;
    doc fees in GA are completely negotiable so that is additional;
license/registration not included in my estimate
    details: 266 + 18 (extra miles) + 20 (7% tax)

    Thanks for the info.

Please clarify. The Voss ad for the V6 EXL coupe (most similar) is $306 plus doc fees (est $350 or $10/month), plus tax ($22/month) or $338/month. The extra miles are 3000/year at 15 cent/mile which is $37/ month. So total is $375 per month.

    Where am I going wrong?

    abb3abb3 Member Posts: 4
    Just realized my oversight.

    266
    10 doc
    20 tax
    50 miles ($600/year)

    Total $346
  • Options
    loray14loray14 Member Posts: 4
The standard cost for extra mileage was 15 cents a mile. I negotiated 25K mileage from 12K. 15 cents X 13,000 miles = $1950. Not a bad deal, IMO.

I'd rather work that into the up front costs, then pay it on the back end if I went over my 12k or even 15K mileage.

Curious... If you're under the contracted mileage at the end of the lease, does Honda compensate you for the unused mileage?

The NJ fees probably were inflated, but if they tell me I can't negotiate them, that can I do? Plus I negotiated the hell out of the rest of the deal. At least I think did. But i'm a novice, so it's possible it's not as good as I think it is.

The primary reason you don't want to put much money down on a lease is simple. If you have an accident that totals the car in the first week of the lease, ALL your down payment money is gone. Gap insurance only covers the difference. That's why i said that $500 should be the MAX you ever put down. If you have time, check out some of the posts in this thread. It covers many of the lease tips/tricks i know of:
    http://slickdeals.net/f/4299776-2012-Honda-Accord-SE-109-Month-1500-Down-36-mont- hs

As far as your other question, I don't know if Honda would refund any unused mileage (doubtful, though). Did you ask your dealer?

    Enjoy your new car!

Looking for the mf and residual on a lease for 2012 exl with nav. Dealer has quoted me at 379 as final offer with no money out of pocket and I don't feel this is as low as they can go. Any immediate help is appreciated.

  • Options
    sergeymsergeym Member Posts: 283
Kind of high. For that kind of money you should be able to get Acura TSX-tech. I would shoot for $340-350 for EXL with Navi. Anyway, Honda charges a lot for their Navi system, at least $50-60 per month.

I would get an SE model for low $200s and buy good navi for $200 and install a rer view camera for another $200. The engine in EX models ia slightly better but in a real life commuting the difference is hardly notisable.

It is not $105 per month total. It requires $2012 down payment and does not include dealer and other fees. The real price will be probably around $200 per month. Still a very good price.

Sounds good to me. I think for an LX, the total cost should be no more than $7000-$7020 for 36 months. Taxes, tags, dealer prep., money down- everything. This is an automatic right? I'm not an expert, but I just went through the lease process.

    viper711viper711 Member Posts: 6
    Total cost is 6700. LX , 5spd.

Hi sparty22. Honda Finance's June buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Accord Sedan 4-cylinder EXL with Navigation and 15,000 miles per year are .00065 and 51%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Super Preferred" credit tier.

When negotiating your deal on this car, make sure to take advantage of the $1,250 dealer cash that is currently available on it.

Yes, viper711, the dealer cash is available on the LX model. Given that this deal is below invoice it looks as though the dealer is already taking the dealer cash into account.

    Honda of New Rochelle
Accord SE for 20795 includes destination of 780
Accord EX-L for 23995 includes destination of 780

I put the numbers into Leaseguide.com for the SE and montly payments are around 207 with 20795 price.
Looks like 19900 will put me at 181 a month if my math is right.

I want to lease SE for 179 a month nothing down what price will get me there. Will pay tax and fees upfront.

    June
    Money Factor is .00065
Residual Value is 57% for SE and 55% for EX-L

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I went to Yonkers Honda a sells guy -Javier Cano- gave me a quote for 179 a month then Bob the owner changed his mind. Nice customer service.

Once again you should not put anything up front. If the car gets totaled you not going to get your up front money back.

Add tax, fees (MV and doc) together, divide them by the number of lease months (I am ignoring interest here) and you will end up with a monthly payment that includes everything. I do not know what tax rate is in your state but with 7% tax and $500 for MV and doc fees your $179 becomes $205 per month.

Sales price has to be $19,820 and is not easy to get. My brother-in-law paid about $1,000 more last month.

Tax in Yonkers is 8.375 I will pay all the fees up front MV, tax, acquisition etc. Again I am using 19900 monthly payments are 181.94

Not sure I understand you anymore.
You want your monthly payment to be $179 - you need to get sales price of $19,820. Once again it will not likely to happen.

You want to pay taxes and fees up front - sure you can do it, but it is not the right way to do a lease.
