MSRP on infinitiusa.com has changed to a much lower number.
Anyone got the new residual and MF for the new g37 journey?
  • lola225lola225 Member Posts: 20
The MSRP $39,405 is the latest number from infinitiusa and is based on the new numbers that came out on August 8.
  • jkipsterjkipster Member Posts: 270
It looks like they are adjusting current year MSRPs with the $4,800 reduction for the 2014 model year, and then bumping up the residual values on the back end to compensate for it for leases. I am thinking that your sale price is still above what I estimate is the invoice of the 2014's when they come out. I'm not sure if that is a good deal on a leftover 2013.

Look at the offer in post #7830 - $33.8k sale price on a $38.3K MSRP. Sure his residual is lower but I would rather have the lower sale price. I think you should have some room to negotiate there. I would target around $300/month with maybe three security deposits.

The problem in judging this deal is that you left off the one number that you can do something about: Selling Price. The deal sounds ok, but could be tweaked a little depending on the selling price you negotiate. I'm not experienced in dealing with leasing brokers, but with dealers, the first selling price they give you is often not the best they can do.
  • driveonedriveone Member Posts: 3
I agree. Dibby has a better proposition.
  • driveonedriveone Member Posts: 3
Would it be kosher to ask how you came about your lease deal? It is better than the one I received.
  • dibby11dibby11 Member Posts: 36
I worked out the sale price of the vehicle and I also qualify for the pull ahead program and loyalty incentives... that could be why.
  • lola225lola225 Member Posts: 20
Thanks jkipster for that info! I went back to the dealer but they appear firm on the price.

Just got an offer for G37 Sedan with premium package, it looks like a reasonable price since I don't qualify for the loyalty incentive and need to pay full tax for leasing in TX...Please advice!!

    MSRP: 36525
    Residual: 72%
    Sales Price: 33075
    Acquisition Fee: 700
Tax: 396 (Applied sales tax credit)
    MF: 0.00021
    Term: 24 Mons
    Miles: 12K per year

    Monthly payment: $343
First month payment and license/reg fee: $605 due at sign in

Let me know if it's a good price...

    Thanks!
  • jkipsterjkipster Member Posts: 270
The best way to lower that price is with a competing quote. Can you locate the same car at another dealer that you are willing to go out to purchase from? (Or, even if you're not willing to travel far, it doesn't hurt to have a lower quote as reference.) That way you can also confirm that the money factor and residual you are quoted are the correct August rates from IFS.

Also, if you have the luxury of time, end of month should give you the best pricing. Salesmen get antsy when they don't hear back from you and will definitely touch base with you when you go silent. Don't be too eager unless you have to.

I haven't seen anyone post what the current IFS dealer cash and leasing rebate numbers are for August so I can't tell what is an achievable good sales price. So it is possible that you're close to your best deal. I would just hate to find out that I could have waited for a 2014 model and only pay a little more.

Nowhere in your post is the selling price of the car. That is the item you negotiate. You also do not want to put $3,500 down on a lease.

I was looking at a 2013 G37 with Nav, Premium and Sport Packages along with misc smaller items like illuminate kick plate matts and splash guards.

Bottom line was 39 month lease - $450/mo tax included with 1st payment upfront no other out of pocket
    .00110
    Cap $37,564
    Res 63% at $25,710 buy

Feels like it may be decent but reading through the posts it seems like this car can be had for a few hundred/mo less unless I am reading it wrong.

    Any advice?
  • dxsheadxshea Member Posts: 2
The salesman never gave me a MSRP, just a bunch of different payment options. Im going for a test drive today so hopefully ill squeeze out the exact MSRP so i can get back to you guys. Why should i not put 3500 down? I know its alot to put upfront, but i really want to keep my mothly payment at or below 400!

    Thanks
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
I didn't say MSRP, I said selling price. Everyone knows the MSRP.

Any leasing expert will tell you do not do a cap cost reduction (the $3500 - the fees). The disadvantage of a cap cost reduction is that, should your vehicle get stolen or totaled in an accident, you probably won't get any of the down payment returned to you.

If you are worried about higher payments take the money that you would have put down to cut the payment in a savings account. If and when you need to make a lower car payment take some of the money out of savings to help with the payment.

How many miles/year? Tax rate? wawzj619 above got almost $1000 below invoice as a sales price. You're at closer to $150 below. Looks like you have room to negotiate there.

You should also find how much in fees they are adding to your cap cost.

wawzj619 above got close to $900 below invoice including dealer fees. That's something you should incorporate into your sale price since FL has such high dealer fees. You're currently above invoice price with dealer fees factored in.

    10k/yr for 39 months and 7% tax

I am trading in my 2012 Acura and they stated it was valued at 28,800 but it is a fully loaded SH-AWD with 18,800 mi. KBB shows dealer trade at 31,800 and I owe 30,400. So maybe they put in some cash to cover the trade. I don't agree but am less knowledgeable about that.

I am outside of Nashville TN

The 63% residual seems low, I think my goal is to get it $400/mo tax included at any lease term and figure out if a little cash will make that happen.

There was no security in the 1st offer. Just 1st mo payment
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Residuals are set by IFS, the dealer has no say in those. 63% is not low for a 39 month lease and sounds accurate. For the last few months Infiniti has been pushing 24 month leases, so that is where you are seeing the best deals. Last summer they were pushing 18 month leases.

anyone have the residual & mf breakdowns for 24month / 10k leases?

is the 2500 lease cash still around?
  • wonderwarthogwonderwarthog Member Posts: 50
Another reason is that at this interest rate, you're practically paying nothing to finance the lease. Keep at least $2,000 from the $3,500, and you can pay them an extra $60 a month, over two years, you'll still have $560 or so in your jeans.
  • lola225lola225 Member Posts: 20
I'm looking for the official numbers too. FWIW, two dealers quoted me a RV of 74% for 24/10K.

One dealer quoted 64% for 36/10K and 63% for 39/10K. This was for the G37x AWD sedan.

When the msrp dropped, they also took away the $2500 incentive.
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Dealers cannot change residuals. So what they quoted you is the official number. They can mark up the money factor, but almost all do not.

It is a good deal, but I have a deal on similar car, maybe even a little higher msrp than this one. $350/mo incl 7% tax with $1k out of pocket using $1k loyalty rebate (that might be the difference in payment).
  • wawzj619wawzj619 Member Posts: 57
    Signed the deal today.

Lower a couple hundred due at sign in. Added window tint and wheel lock. Here is the final number: $340 monthly payment with $395 due at sign in including the first month payment and all tax/fees.

    Enjoy the car!!

    HI Carman

You have been extremely helpful in the past by providing me with good numbers to negotiate favorable leasing terms. I am in the market to lease an Infiniti Q50 Premium AWD with nav for 39 month and 12K miles per year with an MSRP of $43,855. My question is what should the residual value and the money factor be. I already know that the invoice (including destination) is $40,416. The dealer who I have gotten cars from before is offering $1600 off MSRP while most dealers are holding out for MSRP or above because the car just came out.
    Thanks for your help.

Picked up the car today. The process is painless. Sent an email to the sales manager that I worked with before Friday around 2:00 AM. Got a response from the sales associate that he assigned to me on Friday around noon to clarify some questions. Get a quote from them by Friday night. Picked out a car from their inventory and sent dealer pictures of our M37 that we traded in by Saturday morning. And we drove the G37 home by Saturday evening.

    Here is the detail:

Trade in an M37 and they give me a credit of $695.

    The deal for the G37:

    MSRP: $38560
    sales price: $35159
    acq cost: 700
    doc fee: 80
    total cap cost =35939

Drive off 1695 - paid by $1000 royalty rebate and $695 from M37 trade in.
    cap cost reduction 925
    first month payment 324.72
    reg fee 328
tax on cap cost reduction: 78.7
    dmv filing filing 29
    Cal tire fee 8.75

money factor: 0.000021, residual 73% for 10k mi/24 months lease

    residual 28148.8
    depreciation: 6864.37
    rent charge: 318.35

    Monthly charge: 299.28
    tax 25.44

So the end result is 0 drive off and 299.28+tax for 23 months.

The most interest part of the deal is the 695 trade in credit from the M37. The trade in value they give the car is 30347 and the payoff value they quote is 29652. The M37 was on a 36 months lease expired on 12/13. The buyout option for the car is 33776.3 in Dec.. I don't quite understand how the payoff value now is only 29652 while the buy out value for the car in dec will be 33776. Infiniti is losing money on the M37 lease. The difference between 33776 and 29652 represent the loss that Infiniti absorbed because they mis-forecast the residual for the M37 back in 2010 when I leased the car.

I was able to work out a deal that seems to be favorable. This board is fantastic and really helpful is getting to a price that dealers accept and buyers feel are fair.

2013 G37 Sedan Premium Package, Sport Package, Navigation Package, Illuminated Kick Plates, Body Colored Splash guards, Cargo Package

    $400 payment ($362.37 +$37.63 tax)
$549.50 includes 1st payment license and tags

    Gross cap $38,244.47
    Car Price $36,000
    39 months and 10k yr

Does anyone know the money factor and residual value for the new Infiniti Q50 Premium AWD with Navigation? 39 months/12K miles per year in NY MSRP: $43655 Invoice:$40,416 Selling price: $42,228.

    Thanks for your help.

Just finalized my 36 months Lease - G37 AWD Coupe with sport package
First month payment only - no other cash down.
    MSRP $50,250
Sale price $40,000 (negotiated price does not include any fees)
    Residual for 10,000 miles per year = 59% (58% for 12K)
    MF 0.00073
    Acquisition fee + tags/ docs = $1250
Maryland state tax works differently , so there's no point stating what is my monthly payment.
I recommend the following calculator :

    Hey everyone,

I'm new to the car leasing world. I've never bought (or leased) a car before. I just didn't need one throughout college because public transportation was outstanding. I'm really looking into the G37x coupe. We get a LOT of snow where I live, so AWD is required. Please don't rip this post apart - I just need some advice negotiating leases (I cannot afford to buy yet) with dealers. How did you get your monthly payments down? I know its naive, but I used the Infiniti website's lease calculator, and I'm getting payments upwards of $600/mo (g37x coupe, sports package, 12k miles). I'm looking into their 10k/yr $299/mo premium deal. I really want the sports package though. Any advice in negotiating with dealers? Again - I'm new to this, so be kind. Thanks!

Start with learning out how leasing works. Then you will know you always ignore the advertised deals. http://www.leaseguide.com/ is a place to start.

Reading the leaseguide is a very good idea, but don't ignore the advertised deals. They indicate the willingness of the manufacturer to negotiate on leases and dealers' abilities to provide incentives. For example, I ignored the dealer from whom I eventually leased. Their selection on cars wasn't as good. Then they announced free nav. That's about a $45/mo. reduction. It made the difference. Just remember that lowest selling price is your goal. The other factors are pretty standard, but you still need to confirm MSRP, equipment, money factor, and residual value. Never know when they're slipping something by you. Finally get the Sport. Infiniti does a great job on this trim; car drives like a dream!
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
I guess I should have said instead of ignoring the advertised deals, the advertised deals are the starting point, you can always do better. And for gosh sakes never put down the cap cost reduction that Infiniti always includes on their advertised deals.

Looking at leasing a 2013 Infiniti G37 Coupe

    Premium Package
    Navigation Package
    Sports Wheels
    Wood Trim

Was quoted Dealer Invoice (roughly $200 above Edmunds Invoice) Minus $3500 lease cash and $1000 loyalty rebate.

With me paying $1250 down plus taxes ($600 because of trade in) fees and first payment my monthly payment comes out to $324 a month.

    24 months / 10k miles per year.

Is that good? Can I go under invoice on the coupe or is dealer invoice minus incentives a pretty good deal??

    What does everyone think? Thanks!

This seems like a pretty fair deal to me.

2013 G37 Coupe, Premium, Navigation, Kick Plates

    MSRP: $47,155

    Negotiated Price: $39,333

(No trade in, so no where to move money around)
