Hi cinci5313. The money factor that you were quoted on this car looks great. It's right in line with NMAC's current buy rate for it. Now let's look at this car's selling price.

A 2009 Maxima SV equipped as you described has a spread of around $3,600 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. As you mentioned, the selling price that you were quoted is around $1,200 over dealer invoice plus there's a good chance that the dealer that you are working with is making another $1,000 in dealer cash on the stairstep program that is out there right now.

If you were in an area that had a decent level of competition and were willing to be flexible about this car's equipment I would say that there's a good chance that you can do better than this offer. However, if this is indeed a limited combination of options / color and if there is limited competition in your area then this deal might be reasonable.

It was time to turn in my lease 2006 nissan maxima SL, so i shopped around for a few different cars and just signed on a new 2009 Nissan Maxima SV Sport lease, this is what i got: (Southern California)

2009 Maxima SV (radiant silver on black) with
    Sports Package
    Premium Charcoal leather
    Technology Package
19 in summer tires (included in sports)
    Splash Guards
    Carpeted Floor & Trunk Mats

MSRP was ~ $38,500, below are the lease details:
    Selling Price ~35,000

    39mos /15k miles a year
    Money factor: 0.01085
    residual: 55%
    1900 due at signing
    $450 a month (includes CA tax 8.25)

If someone is in the market, i would highly recommend the Sports Package - on the last generation i found the SE package too stiff and ended up getting an SL but now the Sports Package is slightly stiffer and makes for a very comfortable ride. Highly recommended.

    Good luck to everyone

I just leased a Nissan Maxima S for $380 a mth tax included. $750 cap cost reduction plus tax title , fees etc total out of pocket $1400. I think its a pretty good deal. I'm in the South Florida area. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? Ps. Love the car!
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
You didn't tell us the selling price, lease length or miles so its impossible to tell. Cap cost reduction though is never a good idea on a lease.

Hi, thanks to everyone on the board! always been helpful.

I'm looking at a Maxima SV SportTech in NJ (7% tax) and this is what I've got:

    MSRP - 38480
    Sale Price - 33234
    Out of Pocket - 1700
    Monthly - 398 including tax (39 months)
and they'll pay last lease payment of trade in $306

I've asked for the same deal on a PremTech and they've said ok, not solid yet.

Is that the best it'll get? What do you think?
  • pajaha1pajaha1 Member Posts: 6
td- sounds like a good deal to me, I've been casually shopping the north NJ market- I'm looking to sign in late July. May I ask which dealer you're working with?
  • td_inctd_inc Member Posts: 55
    Sansone Rt.1 Automall in Woodbridge

My wife's lease doesnt go back until end of July too, i'm inclined to wait because if they are willing to pay the monthly payment then why wouldnt they be willing to take that money off my out of pocket?
  • pajaha1pajaha1 Member Posts: 6
I never bite on the "we'll make your last payments" thing. I know Nissan is aggressively clearing inventory this month, but I cannot see things changing for July.

I've shopped several deals in the Morris County area and yours is as good as I've heard. Stay away from Nissan World- they are crooks and I hope they're lurking on this page!

rsazman - This deal seems to good to be true, but I hope that it is. If I read your post correctly, you are leasing this car, SV with Premium, Premium Tech, for $378.74 a month and $0 down. Is this correct? If so, what dealership?
  • audiguy5audiguy5 Member Posts: 2
    Here is my deal:

    MSRP $37,355

    MF .00129
$500 out the door including 1st month and 3 months license
All taxes and fees rolled in(5% state sales tax)
    Payment $469

Good deal? Bad Deal? Room to negotiate?

Hi audiguy5. Let's take a look at this deal. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s current buy rate lease money factor for a 36 month lease of an '09 Maxima is .00108. That's slightly lower than the factor that you were quoted for some reason. Make sure that the dealer uses the correct factor to calculate your payment.

Now let's take a look at this car's selling price. The Maxima that you are interested in probably has a spread of around $3,200 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. You were quoted a dealer discount of around $3,300 on this car. That looks like a very good price to me.

As long as you get the slight money factor discrepancy straightened out, I personally don't see any reason not to go for it.

    Carman;
My questions relates to existing lease payments (4)left on 06 Murona w/36,000 miles.

    Current deal:
maxima sv w/premium, splash guards & mats:
    39 mos/ 15K $399

    MF .00108/ Residual 5%

    $752.67 due at signing
    $399.00 includes tax, @ 7/75% 39 months 15K

I still have 4 existing lease payments on 06 murano, pay it off or work them into existing deal listed above? What are your thougths?
thanks for you assistance, this forum is the best.

That would cost 2,309 to get out of the exisiting lease (4 payments + 1st payment, tax, title) and into 09 Maxima SV 39 months.

Do you think it would makes more sense to wait until the 2010's come out in mid- August and work a deal on the '09 Maxima SV, they will be a year old by then.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Carman,

Please let me know what you think of this lease quote. I think it's decent but not sure. It's for a Maxima SV with cold package, bluetooth (but not tech), and premium wheels.

MSRP: around 37 (for what that's worth)
    Sale: 30237
    Residual: 18554
    Money Rate: .00108
    Down: 2000
    Monthly: 344
    Mileage: 12K
    Term: 39 months

Thanks in advance for the wonderful service you provide!

    39 months
    15,000 miles
SV with Premium package (frost white), added spoiler
    $422 a month OTD
    $1500 Down

    Believe selling price is 32,???

What do we think? Good deal?
  • sam_ksam_k Member Posts: 198
Something to keep in mind is that the basic warranty on the Maxima is only 36 months. That means if anything that's not covered by the drivetrain warranty breaks the last 3 months of your lease, you'll be responsible for paying for it.

Here's a link to the Maxima warranty information.

Just leased an 09 with Sport and Tech here in NY on Thursday.

    $38,480 MSRP
$3000 total out of pocket (Tax, DMV, 1st Month, all fees)
    39/m
    15k/year
    $465/m

#441- Hate to say it, but look at the NY deal in the post directly above you. It's only 12k miles but $3k is a lot to front on a lease.

    Why are you yelling?

The usual sources (Car_man, leasecompare.com) for lease numbers usually don't get them for a week or so after the month starts. If you want them today you will have to contact a dealer or hope someone else that has posts them here There is a good chance that June's numbers will carry over through the holiday weekend.

First offer I have received in Phoenix is:
    MSRP: 33,760
    Sell: 30465

I calculate the lease payment with only first months down at 8.05% tax to be $432 for 39/12. With your MSRP and sell price I would pay $411 with only first months down. Of course I have $581 in plates/license.

Based on your figures and using the residual and money factor they gave me your and your tax, your payment should be 388.02. you should try for more off. try for 3800 or 4000. What residual and money factor were they using. if its a nmac lease they should be the same.
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
My numbers are correct, I did them myself. I am doing a first payment down only lease, I am rolling about $1600 in fees into the lease.

I haven't seriously haggled yet since I'm not sure the Maxima is the car I'll be getting. I was just getting a baseline. My wife's IS250 is no longer upside on the lease so I was thinking of a new car in this great buyers market. I don't think I have her convinced that a Maxima is a better car then a IS250. She really wants a new G like I have. Tried to tell her they are very much a like.

Hi rjt23. The Maxima SV that you are interested in probably has a spread of just under $3,000 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. The $6,700 discount that you are receiving on this car is amazing, if it is correct. Furthermore, the money factor that you were quoted is right in line with NMAC's June program (it is different in July).

If you like the car, I personally don't see any reason not to pull the trigger on this deal.

Hi derfson. You never mentioned what trim level, term, or mileage allowance you are interested in, so I had to make some assumptions. Let me know if you want something different. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Maxima S with 15,000 miles per year are .00139 and 55%, respectively.

Received a quote of $399 per month for a Nissan Maxima. Can't recall the model - leather seats, moon roof, No navigation.

It had the premium package - no sports package.

    39 months. 1st payment + acq fee.
    12K per year.

The guy was pressuring us - you can only get it in blue or black at this price NOW!!

I have until today to decide. Is the $369.82 on the premium package with leathe
  • derfsonderfson Member Posts: 14
I believe all MAXIMA SV have leather. But the answer to you question is yes I have leather and bluetooth. My total price MSRP was $34205, my sale price was $29936.30). This was the price given to me from the dealer on the stock number from his inventory, no haggling. Car was sitting outside of dealership when I arrived ready to go. Things changed at closing why?, I do not want to know. My monthly payment given to me by e_mail was $369.82 with $577 down. The actual price at closing was $355.45 with $563.54 down. Sale price went from $29936.30 TO 29436.30. That was a first for me. I had to do nothing but make an offer on the stock # in his inventory which was $5000 off the MSRP. Everything transpired from ther on by the dealer. All you have to do is look at my MSRP vs your MSRP AND DO SUM MATH. If it doesn"t come close and you have other competition around i suggest you move on. I myself was willing to go 50 miles if need be. I have done it before. This was 28 MILES and I did it on a hunch. My local Dealer could not even do a match. Don"t be in a hurry unless there is something forcing you. I hope this helps

I'm looking to lease at the end of the month- SV Sport + Tech. I got a soft quote from a north NJ dealer around July 4th which was very aggressive. Since then, the offers I've heard are not as good... Would be interested to hear some recent NYC area deals. Thanks!

Does anyone have current rates and residuals on a 2009 Maxima SV - 39 months (more standard with NMAC vs. 36 months?) with 15K and/or 12K? Does the residual change for SV with Sport package? Thanks!

    MF:0.00139
    Residual: 54%

    Carman or anyone else,

Can you provide me with the residuals and money factors for the Maxima SV. 36 and 39 months with 12,000 miles.

    Much appreciated.
  • pajaha1pajaha1 Member Posts: 6
Mich- Are you truly paying $0 at signing? I'm sure there are some kind of fees.. Either way, I think you can do better than that on an S. People are getting SV + packages for around $400 a month (with 1,500-2,000 due at signing) on the east coast.
