I think its a decent deal but I think I could do a bit better?

msrp of about $56650
got it for $51404
lease for 39 month, 12K miles/yr
put cap cost of $3K (with a 98 camry trade in, 100K on it) into the lease, resulting in
monthly $600 + tax ($650 total in CA)
drive off $1335 (1st month, DMV fees, tax)
acquisition fee of about $1000 rolled into cap cost.
so while mine has more options, I think you prob got a better deal. my residual is about 60% (around $31K)
what do you think?
by the way, does anyone think the excess wear and tear coverage ($650) is worth it?
thanks
thanks for the computations. The cap cost of $51404 does not include acquisition fee of $1000 (which seems high to me). With that, the total gross cap cost was $52500 or so. Then they put in the $3000 reduction with trade in from cap cost. So I guess the $600 base monthly payment was pretty bad then. It is the best deal I could shop for in the bay area. But it seem high to me. I wanted $550 monthly (with traide in) and could not get it. BTW, my credit score was over 800 so that was not an issue in the deal.
appreciate your thoughts and calculations.
looks like you got a better deal than mine. just signed last weekend.

msrp 56650, final negotiated 51440 or so
39 mo lease, 12K/yr

then $3000 cap cost reduction (with a trade in)
so final number $49400 or so
ended up with $600/mo + tax
residual 60% (31+K)

if you massage my numbers backwards like you did with yours, what is the final price of the vehicle? prob no discount from msrp at all?

If I attempt to back into your $560 per month, I come up with a net capitalized cost of $48,200. I used a 57% residual and .00085 money factor. The question is how much of the 6K you are puttign down is for reduction of capitalized cost.
this sounds like a great deal. My friend got a similar deal in florida but we could not find anyone in new york offering it.
Can you tell me which dealer you got this from?
Thanks

I need help as quickly as possible. I looked at the R-350 on Saturday and this is the best deal I could work:
R-350
544 Barolo Red
144 Macadamian MB Tex interior
H04 Birdseye trim
P01 Package
R44 17" wheel Package
396 Voice Recognition/CD Changer
530 DVD Navigation
873 Heated Front Seats
Subtotal: $50,775
Destination & Delivery: $775
Total: $51,550
Now, here are the lease details:
Tier 2 Credit (BUMMER!)
Negotiated Price: $48,895 (He said this was $500 above invoice, but I think it's $900 above)
Fees & Insurance: $484
Upfront Taxes: $203.08
Disposition Fee: $595 (What is this?)
Cap Cost Reduction: $5000
Miles Per Year: 10,000
Lease Term: 33 Months
Money Factor: .00055
Residual: Total Initial Charges Due At Signing: $6,943.46
MONTHLY LEASE PAYMENT: $494
I do not know if this is a good deal. I would love to lower both the monthly payment and the Cap Cost Reduction. I would also like 15,000 miles per year. I know that my credit is hurting me, but can I do better? If so, what part of the above deal can I improve? Sale price? Perhaps more options? Leather seats Also, I ***REALLY*** want this car in EVEREST GREEN. The salesman told me (and let me look at the computer) that there were no R350's in that color at all in the Northeast (I'm in New Jersey and this was Mercedes Benz of Princeton). Can I ask him to expand his search to include the entire country, and if so, will it cost me more? He told me that I cannot order it because I would have to order a 2008 vehicle, which would not be ready until probably September.
Please help me! I am on a tight budget, but I'd really like to get this car (I am also looking at the ML 350). Any advice that can help me save money would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
David in New Jersey
PS. I am scheduled to go back to the dealer tomorrow with my wife, so I can take her for a test drive, so please hurry; I'd like to "armed" with as muck knowledge as possible when I go!
I forgot to mention that at first the salesman said they would pay my last monthly payment on mh Hummer H2 (June) but then, after our negotiations, he said that the deal he was giving me was so good that the dealership would not be able to pay my last lease payment. Is this just b.s.?
Thanks,
David in NJ

Yes, the MSRP is $51500. The salesman said that Mercedes does not lease for 36 month terms. He said they use 33 months or 39 months. I do not know if that is true, but the advertised offer for May 2007 on the Mercedes Benz website of $489/month for an R350 with P1 package & heated fron seats is for a 33 month lease (with a similar deal of $549/month for an ML350 with P1 package and heated fron seats). Both of those deals require a cap cost reduction; $2750 for the R350 and $2850 for the ML350. Also, He told me that the selling price of $48,895 was $500 above his invoice price, but this afternoon I told him that it seemed to me that it was $900 above his invoice he told me that the $400 difference was some sort of fee that all Mercedes Benz dealers are required to pay when they participate in an advertised lease deal or something like that. I am not happy that I was not told about that fee upfront, because $48,895 is NOT $500 above his cost, it is $900 above. How can I find out if this "fee" is real or just him padding his profit? I also asked if there were any factory-to-dealer incentives or "holdbacks" of any kind and he said no, but I don't know how to find out if he is telling the truth. How long is your lease on your R350? Did you make a cap cost reduction? Also, where did you find the published Mercedes lease factors (residulas & money factors)for Tier 1 credit for May? Is there alist of Tier 2 lease factors? Lastly, How do I know if I only qualify for Tier 2 credit? I know that my credit is not perfect, but the salesman is saying that he is going to try to talk to his business/sales manager and get me "bumped up" to Tier 1 credit; how can he do that? Am I being suckered? I really need to know, because if I am, I will go elsewhere. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
David in NJ

Can you post the "special" 33 month MF and Residual for the R350? 15K miles.
Thanks!
I drive 25,000 miles per year, should I lease or buy? One dealer is telling me that I should just pre-purchase my miles upfront and still lease. Another is telling me that leasing is not an option for me because I drive too many miles. Thoughts? Opinions? Advice?
Also, doesn't it cost more to insure a leased vehicle than one you own?

Good?
I am looking for a 27 or 33 month lease on an R350 in New York City. Here is the deal i am being offered:
$518 a month for 33 months on a P1 package with a base color
(metalic would be about $9 a month more). 12K miles a year
This deal works in everything, no money upfront. All i need to give the dealer is my first payment, $200 for registration, and $125 to the mercedes dealer (the car dealer is not a mercedes dealer).
Here is the bit that concerns me and the reason for the post. The dealer leases me the car out of the mercedes fleet car program (company car) which he saus is about 5K cheaper than regular retail. He does this by listing the car with a company that he lists all these type of sales with.
He assures me that it makes no difference to me as an individual - the car and lease payments etc are in my name, the car is listed at mercedes as a fleet car with the company that he uses.
Are there any problems doing this? The deal financially appears to be a great deal.
I am in the process of leasing an R350 with the P2 package that has a MSRP of $53,100.00. I looking for the current Lease Money Factor and Residual Factor for a 7500 mile per year 48 month lease with MBCC. Also, are you aware of a factory $1000.00 rebate on the 2007 R350 models?
Many thanks for your help!
I am looking to get the deal that you got. Can you plesae tell me where you got that deal? I can't come anywhere close to that here in Ohio. Thanks.

Every one should wait for the new rates.
Good luck
Thanks for the info! Did you actually do the deal or haven't you done it yet? I'm going to give them a call but I wanted to know if it all worked out for you.
They said they don't have any right now but expect to get some in late July. However he said they are likely to be the 2008.
I would prefer the 2008 anyway since they're supposed to be cheaper but was surprised by the early date (I thought it would be more like September).
Are the 2008 expected on dealers lot as early as late July? And if so will I be able to get a good deal if I buy one right away (say late July or early August)or should I wait until it sat on the lot for a while?
What would be a good base rate for a lease for 24 months/10,000 miles?
Finally what are the yearly dates that Mercedes has really good deals on leases (I can only remember their after Xmas sale)?
Thanks
Must haves are P2 package with Front and rear panorama sunroof, Rear Entertainment package(DVD) heated seats. Nav system is nice but not required.

Did new/revised lease rates/promotions for July get announced this week? Should the R320 lease for the same as the R350 assuming the exact options??
Thanks,
Ready to Lease!!!!!
Can you please post the lease infos for July for the new 2008 R320 CDI.
Also, can you give the invoice on that car for the base model, no options (I just want the 7th seat and my dealer called that I can go test drive one next week, so I need the invoice on it fast).
I could only find the MSRP listed on the MB web site so far. I guess these babies are too fresh from the oven so no infos available on Edmunds yet.
Thanks
Thanks
A dealer has given me an estimate on an R350 but said that the car is coming from a new jersey dealership. I live in new york. Is there any issue here in terms of emissions etc?
do i have to lease from a new york dealer or can i shop anywhere in the tri-state area?
Can anyone give me the lease infos for August on the new 2008 R class 320 CDI.
I'm about to lease and think I'm being had. :confuse:
Thanks

Now my Question - We leased a 2006 Mercedes R500 at the end of the 2006 model year when factory and dealer incentives were almost too good to be true and R sales were in the toilet. We drove off with an R sporting a $62k+ MSRP for 27 months (leased) at $508 per month, nothing down other than 1st month payment and MB bank fee. $16k+ in cap cost reductions all came from MB USA and the dealer. While the cap cost along with a decent MF and residual yielded a great monthly payment, the cap cost and likely unrealistic residual are going to kill me at lease end. The 67% residual gives a lease buy out of $42k (for those who dont know it is based on MSRP NOT capitalized cost). Given the revised pricing of the R in 2007 and overall poor sales, there is no way this thing will be selling for $42k in 27 months - right now 2006 R500s are selling for high 40s after less than 12 months!!
I already know that I want to keep my R at the end of the lease - So my question is does MB USA negotiate lease end buy outs? I know some manufacturers like Honda maintain a "no negotiation" policy. Also since $10k of the cap cost reduction came from MB USA is there any argument that it should have reduced or did reduce the MSRP for purposes of calculating the residual? Assuming MB negotiates, is it fair at the time to see what dealers are selling similar used cars for and shoot for a value a few thousand less than dealer asking price recognizing that it costs money to go over/prep/clean an off lease car, warranty it, build in dealer profit and carrying cost?? Realistically, this car is likely to be worth somewhere in the mid to high $30s at the end of the 27 month lease with 30k miles.
I found one post in the MB "S" class section where MBFC offered the lessee a buy out price that was $9k less than the stated lease buy out (due in large part to a complete redesign of the S Class).
thanks for input!
