Best Caliber Color?

I've pretty much decided I am going to buy a Caliber. The color choice is killing me though. I'm thinking black or silver. I love lots of chrome. I've never had a black car, but I've seen Black Calibers on TV and they looks so good.
Anyone have a black on and love it, or do you wish you would of chose another color.

    Black cars generally always look good... they also ALWAYS need to be washed as they show every bit of dirt that gets near them. :surprise:

    black will show every ounce of dust and every swirl mark. on the other hand light metallic colours show little. the orange should not be as bad. also i have had red cars and was pleased. dark blue and green are also hard to keep clean. silver and tan are ok.

    Amen on the black. One of my vehicles is black. First black one I've ever had, and likely the last. The thing DEMANDS to be washed :P

    And yes, the red Caliber IS sharp looking, although I'm more about NOT attracting the attention of the radar operators while I'm on the road.

    It is a myth according to ABC's 20/20 John Stossel about red cars attracting cops attention as far as getting speeding tickets. Thsi program was on several months ago and the insurance companies contacted by ABC sent them proof about red cars not being targeted by police radars. So, with that said...I'll keep my "Inferno red" Caliber! *L*.

    lexan1965: I will agree with you. We bought our first red car in 2004 and have only pulled over once for a warning in 42,000 miles. And what you say about the ABC program is true.

    As said in some previous posts, black looks great as long as you don't own it. As much as I do not like owning black cars I've had a couple just because that was all that was available. I currently have an '04 audi A4 that is black....PAIN in the you know what to keep clean, I am trading it in on an Inferno Red Caliber. The red color myth is just that. I work for an Insurance company and red does not affect your premium and if your car looks sharp and you are speeding, the cops will pull you over no matter what color it is!

    Having read through this thread on Caliber colors, I've noticed not one mention of our choice -- yellow!! I personally wouldn't buy a yellow car if it was half-priced, but the wife was all for it, so....now, a couple of weeks and a thousand miles later, I've really come to appreciate such a way out color choice to compliment the pretty distinctive styling of our AWD R/T. Try it....you might like it!!!

    I really like the Caliber styling. So far, white is winning the colour of choice, with maybe silver following up. The white looks clean and sporty, whilst the silver has a more refined look to it. However, living in Florida, white is the best colour in our sun-baked state.

    Hi all, there's a story on the best selling colours in a range of make/models. No real surprises silver is popular but interesting take by a color specialist on what colors resell best and what hurt resale value.

    Black and white is the hardest colors to keep clean. I know I have owned both colors in the past, and believe me they are hard to keep clean. I have a Caliber SXT and the color I chose was sunburst orange pearl, 'cause I see a lot of the other colors but very very few of the color that I have. :D There are only 4 of the color I have where I live, and I'm one of the 4.

    ... increased sightings of Dodge Calibers everywhere. I've seen them in every available color now except the khaki. the burnt orange is nasty in my opinion. the dark red isn't too bad. I like the shade of yellow. there are a few black ones around. So far my silver sxt doesn't show dirt too bad.

    The blue Caliber was incentive priced at $14000. Trying to get my favorite sunburst orange was going to cost $19000. So got the blue & will paint to get nice sunburst orange & blue 2-tone....now we're talkin'.

    Believe it or not the Kahaki color is very sharp, a nice alternative to the silver for those more conservative. I almost think I may have gotten that instead if the color would have been represented accurately in the booklet.

    It looks really nice with the wheelcovers painted a charcoal color that matches the roof trim and door handles. I also added a black antenna mast.

    Personally, I really like the khaki metallic, especially since it's a color that's not seen very often.

    Patriot Blue. It is a nice color and distinctive. Also, it would match my '01 Grand Caravan ES. Hopefully it will be offered by May 2007. That's when I'm planning on ordering mine. It cleans up real nice too!

    I concur! I saw the khaki in person the other day and it's pretty sharp. Not at all like the color depicted in the booklet either. IMO

    I just bought mine Saturday night! Whoo-hoo! I had test driven a Black one at one dealership and ended up buying from another dealer. So after the initial test drive on the same day I didn't bother with another since it was pouring rain. But I did look at it inside the dealerships garage. With all the bells and whistles it came with I never thought to see if it had speed control.....and as I started my way home on the long highway, guess what? NO SPEED CONTROL! Eeek! My fault for not checking better. but I really thought it would have it! I wonder if I can get it added now????? Does anyone know. And if it's not done at the dealership, will it void the warranty?

    I know they have an aftermarket cruise control kit. You can also find it on some Doge websites. I am not sure if you don't have it installed at the dealer if it will void your warrenty or not.

    When I went to look at the caliber, at 2 of my brother's suggestion, we walked outside and the sunburst orange was sitting there. I said, "oh! I love that color", the salesman said, "that's not it, it's the khaki", I said, "oh, I hate that color it looks like cement". When we went back in I said I'll buy it but I want the sunburst orange. Ever since that color came out I've said I'm going to get a car in that color, and now I have one! I went to show a friend and she thought it was the perfect color for that style and size car. I love it!

    The colors I see most often are red, silver, khaki and steel blue. Mine is silver, and I agree that khaki is a really sharp one. I've seen my first orange one now too, and honestly I'm surprised they're calling it "sunburst," it didn't seem as bright to me in person as it is on the web.

    The 2007 Caliber is available in Marine Blue. For 2008, Marine Blue is gone and there is a Surf Blue. Does anyone know if they are the same or is Surf Blue a new color? If new, does anyone know what it looks like?

    I passed local dealers lot last Wednesday am
    that had several 2008 Calibers in the front
    row and a Surf Blue (Smurf Blue) one was right
    up front,definitely no relation to Marine Blue.
    You might try Chrysler/Dodge website as someone
    posted it has been updated.

    I have the Inferno RED Caliber and it's a real head-turner. White would be my 2nd favorite. It's a really CUTE car, all my friends love it. I had to go from an SUV to a small car and I wanted a 4 cylinder car that had STYLE. The Dodge Caliber doesn't have that same-old dull boxy look that most cars have, no style.

    I AM THE OWNER OF WHAT THE GOOFS ON THE REVIEW CALLED A FUGLY CAR. WELL IF IT WERE TRUE I WOULD NOT BE TOLD EVERY DAY DUDE THATS A NICE RIDE. HOW THE HELL COULD YOU CALL THIS CAR FUGLY? IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AND AGRESSIVE LOOKING. IT IS NOT A CAR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE NOTICED! I SEE MORE PEOPLE WALKING INTO THINGHS JUST GETTING A LOOK AT ME DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. IT KILLS ME HOW MANY JAWS DROP AT THIS MACHINE. I ALSO HAVE A BLACK 1, THE BLACK IS A BLACK PERL IT LOOKS AWSOME WHEN ITS SUNNY. I ALSO HAVE A GF THAT PARENTS OWN A CARWASH SO IT IS ALWAYS CLEAN.     THE FACTORY CRUSE WORKED THE 1ST DAY THEN STOPPED. I'V BEEN WAITING FOR IT TO BE FIXED FOR 6 MONTHS NOW. NOT WORRIED IT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE 3 SRT4'S THEY HAVE SOLD THEY ALL HAVE COME BACK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. :mad:

    Change dealerships would be my advice!
    If they can't at least order the parts and fix it in 6 months
    and give the old excuse that it's the norm on this model
    they can't be trusted.
    CSRT4 is a nice piece of gear-I wish I would have waited
    for it to come to market but my SXT 2.0/cvt is almost
    3 yrs old and has only been back to dealer for my free
    oil/filter changes and 1 software upgrade-I'm happy.

    It was orange at frist sight.I don't belive consumers reports one an a half stars on this car.Had car for almost 3 yrs.Runs great good milage a few problems nothing major.warranty fixed it.

    I know mine is almost 3-1/2 yrs old and going great,
    by the way "black" is the fastest-to get dirty. lol
