    Hi TSK1,

Yes, even the European C70's do have a tripcomputer. And yes, I surely want to use it. But,.. then you want to be sure that those things are reliable. By having tested it this way, I know now for sure that 2 out of 3 methods are NOT reliable.

Anyone out there shed 'light' on this??? Driving the other day in daylight but on an overcast day .... the infotainment screen decided to stay in 'night' mode ... fair enough .. it was quite overcast. As I set off the led door locking lights locked and duly shone out brightly. As the journey continued they dimmed .. then occasionally went bright again .. and then dimmed. There seemed no obvious reason for the moments when they decided to change mode. Is this what they are meant to do? Are they in some way linked up to the sensor that decides when the screen should turn to 'night' mode? If so ... mine seem slightly out of step. Not that this is a problem (except it was my door lights staying on in bright mode when the car was locked and thus drained the battery each night that indicated I had a problem!) The manual says nothing about day/night mode as far as I can see. I have tried driving the car in different conditions ..... and it is still not entirely clear ... the led door locking lights seem to have a mind of their own. Any comments on this would be welcomed! Thank you!

Hi all! I'm up to 7000 miles now. My plan had been the car would go into hibernation as soon as the snow started to fly here in New England but there hasn't been any and it was 72 this past Saturday in Connecticut. :shades: So I keep driving it daily and racking up the miles.

Anyways, thought I would sound in on this topic and let you know that I get more dust on my back wheels than my front wheels. Sadly I went nearly a month not washing the car so it was very noticeable when I washed it this past Saturday. I don't think it's anything to cause concern.

My VW always got it bad on the front wheels so I added dust covers inside the wheels years ago. If they did make them for the Volvo 18" wheels I don't think they would look good.

    Still love the car.
  • erisamanerisaman Member Posts: 99
Good to hear from you Stanwict - especially your last few words. Have often wondered how you were getting along, maybe it's time you posted more pics - the weather here in the UK is absolutely atrocious and def not suitable for taking pics.

    Good luck.
  • lemennlemenn Member Posts: 89
I should precise the pictures of the wheels were taken after 3 or 4 weeks without cleaning and here we have poor weather (rain every other days).
  • lemennlemenn Member Posts: 89
Nothing scientific here but I did notice some differences of brightness of the door's leds, but cannot find a rational behind the phenomena. Nothing obvious but maybe it is normal behaviour. To be confimed on long term usage of the car.
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
Thank you for that!! It's always good to know you are not the odd one out!! I can only think that they are attached to the sensor in some way ... but that maybe they are a bit more sensitive to outside light than the other stuff is. I will keep on driving and testing and see what happens. As Erisaman says .... UK weather is awful ... so it's almost night conditions even in the middle of the day here!!! Maybe the car is just confused and would prefer to be living in a sunnier location!!!
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
I've also noticed that my door locking lights are not as bright during daylight hours. They seem to dim during the day.
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
oh! If my theory is correct ... it should be the other way around ... at night they should be dimmed so as not to detract your eyes ... and brighter by day!!!! That is what my car leans towards anyway!! Still, this is re-assuring me that at least my car isn't going crazy on me again .... perhaps Volvomax will have the definitive answer for us??? You should be getting your car back again soon? Like me ... you'll feel like a brand new owner all over again! Good luck and keep us posted!

I have to say, yet again, how excellent I think this forum is! The exchange of news and leaping over continents is a real bonus! thank you!
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
They appeared to dim (on the loaner '06 C70) during the daylight hours but it could have been that the sunlight just made them seem to be dimmer... (then again, I am now in an S80 from the dealership and can't remember when they seemed to be dimmer). BTW, I love the S80 and whoever said the seats are better in the S80 - you are right, dude!! They're wonderful. I miss my C70 and got a call from the dealer today that the window has been fixed. It was the molding and the safety guide under the molding (which is supposed to prevent the twisting and bunching that was happening) both failed. Both were replaced. Now the only thing left is a door ding and paint chip that they will fix tomorrow at no charge (because of my inconvenience)... The dealership really is good (so far).

    erisaman,

I've been waiting to take a picture of the car in the snow but we can't seem to get any! I know many people are happy about no snow but not me! Anyways, here is a horible shot of the C70 next to the Cabrio in the garage. After a day of cleaning and bringing the lawn tractor, push mower, broadcast spreader and wheel barrel to storage I was excited because it was the first time in years I could get two cars in the garage. I felt bad for the Cabrio spending so much time outside since the C70 came home. I try to be somewhat easy on the car seeing it has nearly 190,000 miles on it.

    image

As for the C70, it's still great. I have a little rattle in the roof when it's really cold (big deal). Now that its winter and I'm wearing a coat the door handle isn't bothering me. I remember someone stating that the metal trim on the steering wheel is hot; well it's cold in the winter. Gloves were the simple fix. ;)

We are going to be in London the 2nd week of July this year - we are going to a concert on the 8th. What is the weather like that time of year there?
  • lemennlemenn Member Posts: 89
    Cricket4,

For me it is the other way around. This morning on my way to work it is still dark and the LED is in what I would call "normal" mode.

Then during day light the LED is in "bright" mode and is really bright.
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
Lemenn ..... yes, that is what mine are tending to do as well ... and I guess that makes sense. I just think the led's are a little more light sensitive than the radio/climate screen .... and whilst when that changes it tends to stay changed ... but the led's hover in and out of light/dark mode more easily. I wish the manual explained that ... but I guess it can't explain everything!

Cricket4 .... sounds like your car will be home soon and you can test!!!! Good news!
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
Cucci/Lemenn: I sit corrected. I've finally gotten my car back. I LUV IT! (It is like getting a new car all over again, Cucci.) I digress, after paying close attention to the door lights, you both are correct - I was mixed up and the reverse is true. It is dim at night and bright during the day. very strange, indeed. BTW, the window is working great.
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
Cricket4 .. that is all great news!!! Lemenn and I now know we don't have 2 rogue cars on our hands or that it is some weird European disease!!!

Must be wonderful to have YOUR car home again ...... and we await further news of some happy motoring! Well done on all counts! Don't let anyone else drive it this time!

I have just posted pictures of my wheels today after cleaning and cloths used to clean just one rear and one front wheel. The wheels were cleaned on January 7th and then cleaned on January 10th after driving about 70 miles.
They are posted on my space under dust on wheels album. If you cannot retrieve them, I will try to post them in this forum.

Although most cars wear the front brake pads down much more quickly than the rears, this isn't always true. My daughter's VW Jetta wore out the rear pads first, because the rear rotors were so much smaller in diameter than the front rotors, and the rear pads were smaller surface area, as well. As a result, more pressure had to be applied at the rear pads, even after allowing for the fact that the total braking effect at the rear is designed to be less than at the front. In terms of the amount of dust produced, the bigger factor is probably the difference in rotor diameter. With less "leverage" on a smaller rear rotor, the pads have to be squeezed harder.

Another factor may be that "smart" front/rear brake proportioning (rather than a fixed proportioning) allows a somewhat higher percentage of total braking to be done from the rear under most conditions (albeit still less than 50%), instead of designing in a heavy front-brake bias for the worst-case situation when you are jamming on the brakes and the rear wheels are partially unweighted.

One other thought that occurs to me is the the dynamic stability program uses mild application of braking at the inside rear wheel of a turn, as you get somewhat close to handling limits. This probably doesn't account for much extra wear on the rear pads, but perhaps the overall effect of all of the above factors is that C70's will tend to wear out the rears faster than the fronts.

Maybe we'll have to wait for some of the earlier C70 owners to rack up enough miles to need brake pad replacements.
  • tmarttmart Member Posts: 2,240
On my 1st gen, there's no comparison. The fronts have WAY MORE dust than the rears.
  • tom007tom007 Member Posts: 40
Thanks for your thoughts on the pad wear and I too believe we will have to take a wait and see attitude as to when they have to be replaced and what mileage. I just have a phobia about clean wheels that I will have to overcome.

The main thing is that they remain safe. I have never had any squeaking from mine, probably because of keeping the dust off the pads as stated by Volvomax in a former post on this forum. I don't have but 3400 miles so have to wait and see how pads are wearing at my first scheduled check-up at 7500, which will probably be in June if nothing unexpected happens to them first.I will keep you informed if and when that happens.

Thanks to all for suggestions and Happy motoring. I still think it is a great car to own and fun to drive.

I am a little tardy on my report, but better late than never. I picked up the car on November 11, as I mentioned in Post #28.

On November 15, with 300 miles on the odometer, I got a flat tire. Convinced it was a factory defect, I had my baby towed back to the dealer. Turns out I had run over a nail and since I had ridden on the tire for a little while before noticing, the tire could not be repaired. One tire (Michelin Pilot HX MXM4) was $250, installed, at the dealer. Ouch! I can't wait until I have to replace all four! I will be looking for posts in the future about what everyone thinks are ideal tires for 17" wheels for the C70. The Michelin's for their price, don't seem to be well rated by owners on tirerack.com.

Other than that little rookie misstep, the car has surpassed my expectations. I have over 3000 miles on the car now and still enjoy every time a turn the key. The top has been down a lot this mild winter. Here are my impressions:

The power is plenty for me. I have to be careful, 80 MPH seems like the comfortable cruise speed for me.

The Navigation System is pretty reliable and easy to program but the voice prompts drove me nuts. I now have the system on mute.

My wife sometimes drives the car and since there is a foot height difference between her and me (I am the tall one), the memorized settings are pretty handy. I understood the three programable positions, but by clicking the unlock button on the key, the seats go back to where that last driver had the seats set. For my 6'2" height, I feel like I have plenty of head and leg room.

I have two daughters (8 and almost 2). The 8 year old is self sufficient getting in and out in the driver side rear seat and loves to be in the car as much as I do. The little one is still in a car seat. It is a little cumbersome getting her in and out, but my long arms help. Also, I was not able to get the LATCH system to work when installing the seat. It might be the car seat itself or the stiffness of the leather, I just could not get the second clip to engage (would not reach the LATCH hook). I have the seat in pretty well with the belt, but would love that extra safety. From time to time around here they have car seat safety check-up events. I will see if an expert can do any better.

The Dynaudio is fantastic. I have an XM SkyFi2 plugged into the Aux port. I was hoping to get the wires for the antenna and power cord professionally tucked away vs. the quick and dirty way I did it. I have it vent mounted with the power connected to the plug in. Why only one power connection? If I want to charge my cell phone, I have to disconnect the XM. My SUV has three connections! Anyway, it is not much an issue since my battery life is pretty good on the phone.

The Bluetooth is okay. The voice recognition can be tricky sometimes. With the top down, don't even bother using Bluetooth. I plan to get a windblocker in the spring, that might help.

I am getting about 21 miles to the gallon. A little less than I had thought I would get. I am using regular gas (87 octane). After reading the posts on the board, I did not see a compeling reason to go with 89 or 93. I feel the power is fine for my needs.

Dust on the wheels is noticeable. Much more on my back wheels.

Other than at the dealer, I have not seen another C70 (2006 or 2007) on the road - EVER. It makes this car purchase really feel special. I did pull up to a ragtop C70 yesterday, but the driver did not take note of me (yes - I wanted her to be jealous :P )

There are some features I still don't understand and need to crack open the manual again, but all in due time.

    Cheers!
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
Re your last paragraph ... I have been meaning to write as I believe I am the only London member on this site!? Well, I haven't seen another C70 on the roads here either!!!

Anyway ... weather here can be anything ..... last year it was baking hot at that time ...... but we could also be due for rain .. never can tell! Bring summer stuff ... but also a jacket and umbrella ... and you should be fine! My view is that now we all have convertibles ... it will rain!!!!
  • tom007tom007 Member Posts: 40
I suppose you know that many companies sell an adapter for the power plug that converts it to a two or three socket power plug. They work fine on small products using low amps. One is 12VoltAccessoryOutlet.com which has all kinds. Hope this helps in your search. Enjoy that auto but stay away from nails.
  • tmarttmart Member Posts: 2,240
It is surprising to hear the 2nd gen has only one outlet, especially since my first gen has two. One for the radar detector and one for the Garmin.
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
I've been reading the manual book that comes with the C70 (since we are having an ice storm here in middle America there's not much else to do - driving is out of the question). Anyway, I remember that I read something about the 12 volt sockets so I just re-read it. It appears on page 62 and shows 2 illustrations - one for the front 12-volt socket and one for the rear 12-volt socket. The rear is pictured on the back side of the center compartment between the two front seats (I'm not a good technical writer so you will probably want to look in your manual).

That's where they are on the 1st gen. The front is to the left of the gear shifter, and the rear one is next to the sub-woofer on/off switch.
  • tombontombon Member Posts: 11
Okay - I am confused. My 2007 Owners Manual (Page 62) does show a rear 12v socket, but in actuality that is not what my rear compartment looks like. The rear cup holders connect the back seat with the center console in my car. (Sorry Host, I have not figured out how to post pictures yet).

Should I have a second 12v socket in the front or back seats in my 2007 model? Per the manual, I may or may not have a socket in the trunk, which would not help my problem.

Has anyone tried the S40 wheel as a spare? I expect delivery of my new Silver C70 in a week or two, and I forgot to order the spare. I'm trying to negotiate with the dealer to get a spare, but curious if the S40 wheel will work if I'm unsuccessful in getting a C70 spare?
  • erisamanerisaman Member Posts: 99
Yes - the S40 wheel does fit and comes recommended as a spare by Volvomax. You may like to check out messages 20 to 30(ish) on the thread -'C70 - Options Chosen or Rejected' where this topic was discussed in some depth.

Good luck for next week - enjoy!

Some of you new owners may have seen a recent post from Cricket4, referring to a stone chip/ small indentation on what would normally be the ‘C’ pillar – the rear pillar on a coupe roof. At the same time I, too, found a similar indentation on the side of the roof panel directly above the door (driver’s door here in the UK, passenger door on mainland Europe and the US). I felt that such an indentation in that location was very unusual – in my case, with less than 200 miles from purchase and never having been left in the open unattended. I also felt that, if it had been caused by a stone thrown up from the road, I would have heard the impact – it was exactly at ‘ear level’ and directly alongside me.

So I suspected the roof – maybe some part of the mechanism coming into contact during the opening/closing operation. I have to admit, I could not see anything close enough to have caused the indentation – but one never knows.

Anyway, the good news is that the indentation has been taken out and the repair really is invisible. I had asked that my dealer liaise with a franchised dent specialist – they don’t use grinders and fillers these days, just patient pressure from behind – and between them (Dealer and Specialist) they have been very successful. I’m now a proud C70 owner once again.

I hope your guys get your panel sorted Cricket4 – I’m still of the opinion that it’s caused internally, not by a wayward stone and, reading the body language, my Dealer has an open mind!

I'm trying to find out about the location of the front center speakers in C70s having both Dynaudio stereo and the Navigation system. Does the nav screen in the closed position partially cover the speakers? According to the '07 brochure there should be a single 5" speaker and a single 1" tweeter in the dashboard.
  • johnh7johnh7 Member Posts: 67
I thought I kind of answered this for you in that other thread. The NAV system sits IN the speaker and it is situated near the rear of that speaker. 100% of the speaker is exposed when the NAV pop up is closed. When it's up, maybe 98% of the speaker sits to the side and in front of the screen. The sound is not impeded.

The wrap around speaker is actually a little rounded and a little raised. The NAV system sits down in it maybe an eighth of an inch. Again - it's very nice looking and the speaker is part of a system that can literally blow you out of your seat if that's what you want.

The only negative I've found with the NAV system is the CD ROM box that holds the GPS discs takes up 50% of the space of the glove compartment - but - it's got to go somewhere and there are other front compartments to use for storage of small items.
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
... sounds like you strongly believe that this is the roof mechanism causing problems for you and Cricket4 ..... ???? Has anyone NOT yet had a problem with their car I wonder?? Anyway .. as soon as the rain and the hurricane winds depart the UK (sometime around July hopefully!) I will see what happens when our roof comes down again!!!
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
That's the problem here too. The ice storm we just had four days ago and snow storm we are getting in two days have prevented me from dropping top. Who would have figured such weather in Oklahoma. I'm going to post in "Road Trip" about how the C70 rides after an ice storm...
  • empty1empty1 Member Posts: 109
I did not order my C70 with the Nav. I'm having second thoughts on this and wondered whether the Nav can be installed by the dealer. Does anyone know and what is the cost. thanks. :shades:
  • erisamanerisaman Member Posts: 99
I suspect the roof simply because I feel I have eliminated all other reasonable possibilities. I was operating the roof to show my neighbours - one a 1st gen C70 owner, the other a Renault Megane CC owner - and when the roof closed they both commented on the indentation - believing it to be something I knew about. Yes, It's something which I may have overlooked before, but as it's right before my eyes, everytime I open the door, I really don't think I would have been that blind.

My own inspection of the roof when open (stowed in the trunk but elevated to the raised position) revealed a hexagonal headed bolt directly opposite the indentation on the inside of the panel stored directly above it, however, the indentation was definitely NOT hexagonal in profile, so, again, it's not conclusive.

But what I am pleased about was the fact that, despite all the intricacies of the roof mechanism, these guys got in there and sorted it - yesss!

No, Nav cannot be dealer installed.

Well, hopefully we can soon officially join the ranks of new members here. It is fascinating to hear about all the intricate idiosyncrasities with this car. It's like watching my favorite episode of the X-files, all these unexplained issues and all. We even have the obsessed and passionate Agent Mulder (erisaman)and Agent Scully (okay, that could be a number of you skeptical ladies!)

All joking aside, our own adventure with this car began with finding the car! Volvo was indeed holding it hostage in Sweden at the plant. Not really sure of the reason, but I was told something about an update for the cars with the manual trans. I still wonder if they just forgot to ship it. Nevertheless, it left UK today (wave cucci and erisaman) and is en route to Canada to subseqently end up in Brunswick,GA on 1/31. That, of course, is barring the possibility that it may disappear in some type of Bermuda Triangle in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. If all goes well, we can take delivery Feb 2 or 3.

Now,with all the horrible weather you guys in the UK have had and cricket has had in the Midwest...we are certain that winter will come to the Mid Atlantic with the arrival of our beloved C70. Afterall, the government is manipulating our weather so we can't drive our convertibles all over the place all year round using endless amounts of fossil fuels.

I can't wait to tell all of you stories about sitting in the car in the garage, imagining the summer wind blowing in our hair like erisaman! Or how well the car performs in the wind and the rain and the sleet and the snow. For hopefully, we are all seeing the beauty of this car, that it is truly 2 cars in one. Nevertheless, I am certain that Agents Mulder and Scully have a file burried somewhere deep in their basement titled "Volvo C70."

Most importantly, remember, as our French corespondent/agent will tell us: "Trust No One!" because Volvo will always have plausible deniability.
  • cuccicucci Member Posts: 49
Of course, you realise you are mad??? Completely and utterly (but delightfully) mad?!! You hear all our problems and you still love and want the car?!!!! I think we have all been selected as C70 owners by some divine higher being .... selected because we are all completely insane!! I guarantee owning your new car will NEVER be boring!!! Roll on February 2nd/3rd and we look forward to hearing your adventures!! Well done!
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
Uh oh, colleagues. I'm afraid jtrego knows too much. You know what that means... ;) You are so going to love your car and this whole waiting period (repair period, for some of us) is going to be a faint memory once you get in your car for even a short ride.
  • erisamanerisaman Member Posts: 99
Cue Bond-type music, Agent Mulder strokes his Walther PPK to the words "Vee haf vays of making you valk - the Volvo C70 will haf you on your feet in no time!" :shades:

Congrats jtrego - you have waited many moons for this motor, hopefully strong winds and ice storms are a thing of the past for you and your C70 will be in 'cruise control' all the way to Brunswick. Enjoy.

How soon after purchase did you apply the Zaino? What products did you use? I want the very best for my soon-to-be new C70, and am now starting to get prepared for its arrival.
  • tmarttmart Member Posts: 2,240
You can start right away. Today's finishes don't need to wait for the paint to cure. I just use ZFX, Z2 and Z6. Did not feel the need to clay since the car as new, but that will be your call. Have not regretted it.
  • tom007tom007 Member Posts: 40
In my 2006 C70, the power outlets (2) are one in center console next to top up and down buttons and one in right rear of trunk.
  • tom007tom007 Member Posts: 40
    tmart:

Have you checked it out with dealer about paint not having to cure on C70? My owners manual says on page 148 on 06 C70.
"We do not recommend washing your car in an automatic wash during the first six months(because the paint will not have hardened sufficiently)" That is quote word for word.

I did mine by hand for the seven months and then applied a coat of wax as the paint should have been cured by that time.

There is also a WARNING from Volvo in manual on page 149 that they do not recommend paint protection coatings that may claim to prevent fading, oxidation etc. They say that those coatings have NOT been tested by Volvo for compatibility with their clear coat and could cause it to soften, crack or cloud which may not be covered under your vehicle's paint warranty.

Hope this helps someone, however maybe the 2007 is different type of paint and clear coat. Happy Motoring if the weather ever clears up.

I have gone by their instructions as I have never owned a Volvo before and therefore will do as they say while under warranty.
  • tmarttmart Member Posts: 2,240
Yes it mentions not to use an automatic car wash, but you should HAND wash as needed:

    Washing and cleaning the car
    Washing the car
The following points should be kept in mind when washing and cleaning the car:

The car should be washed at regular intervals since dirt, dust, insects and tar spots adhere to the paint and may cause damage. To help prevent corrosion, it is particularly important to wash the car frequently in the wintertime.
Avoid washing your car in direct sunlight. Doing so may cause detergents and wax to dry out and become abrasive. To avoid scratching, use lukewarm water to soften the dirt before you wash with a soft sponge, and plenty of sudsy water.
Bird droppings: Remove from paintwork as soon as possible. Otherwise the finish may be permanently damaged.
A detergent can be used to facilitate the softening of dirt and oil.
A water-soluble grease solvent may be used in cases of sticky dirt. However, use a wash place equipped with a drainage separator.
Dry the car with a clean chamois and remember to clean the drain holes in the doors and rocker panels.
Tar spots can be removed with kerosene or tar remover after the car has been washed.
A stiff-bristle brush and lukewarm soapy water can be used to clean the wiper blades. Frequent cleaning improves visibility considerably.
Wash off the dirt from the underside (wheel housings, fenders, etc).
In areas of high industrial fallout, more frequent washing is recommended.
After cleaning the engine, the spark plug wells should be inspected for water and blown dry if necessary.

Look right above the CAUTION and you'll see:

    Polishing and Waxing

Normally, polishing is not required during the first year after delivery, however, waxing may be beneficial.
Before applying polish or wax the vehicle must be washed and dried. Tar spots can be removed with kerosene or tar remover. Difficult spots may require a fine rubbing compound.
After polishing use liquid or paste wax.
Several commercially available products contain both polish and wax.
Waxing alone does not substitute for polishing a dull surface.
A wide range of polymer-based waxes can be purchased today. These waxes are easy to use and produce a long-lasting, high-gloss finish that protects the bodywork against oxidation, road dirt and fading.
Do not polish or wax your vehicle in direct sunlight (the surface of the vehicle should not be warmer than 113° F (45° C).

What they say to avoid is the stuff some dealers try to push on the buying public. I've heard of claims to last 5 years or more. With Zaino you'll have no problems. It's the only thing on my 99.
  • cricket4cricket4 Member Posts: 94
Dry the car with a clean chamois and remember to clean the drain holes in the doors and rocker panels.

This may be a stupid question (it's never stopped me before) but where are the drain holes in the doors and rocker panels located? Anyone?

They're on the bottom of the doors and rocker panels. Under normal circumstances I don't know how they would get clogged, but it is important they stay open so rain water and car washing water doesn't stay inside the body and doors. Would definitely cause rust over time.

Also for drying, either micro fiber towels or 100% USA cotton towels, IMO, are better than chamois.

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.

You also may want to consider Zaino Z5 if you have a darker color. Z2 is for the ultimate shine, Z5 helps hide light scratches and swirl marks.

On my '05 Abyss Blue TL, after the New England winters, I usually start with a couple of coats of Z5 and then start the Z2 (w/Z6 in between, of course!). Great stuff, smells good too! Someone at worked last week complemented me on my shiny new TL!

    The Zainostore website explains all...

'21 Dark Blue/Black Audi A7 PHEV (mine); '22 White/Beige BMW X3 (hers); '20 Estoril Blue/Oyster BMW M240xi 'Vert (Ours, read: hers in 'vert weather; mine during Nor'easters...)
