I thought it's critical to add this forum as this next 9-3 is going to lay the ground work for GM, to eith keep, sell, or kill, off Saab. I am one that wants to keep Saab, and I believe it could be a very successful brand. I want a family convertible with performance and it appears Saab, might just be answering my requests. Their are several pics on the net of this awesome automobile. I don't know if the Convertible get the "Black Turbo" project with 290-320 hp engine but if it does count me in. !!!!

Just was curious if any more "new" news on the 08' Saab 9-3 has came out since May 28th ?

On the Saab Global website (go to saab.com, click on International Home) there is a link to a video on the homepage that has the unveiling of the 9-3.

Those taillights with the black trim are starting to grow on me... And the Snow Silver looks stunning:)

I am strongly considering it. I wish they would bring a diesel engine stateside. I would order one within the next month if there was a diesel available. I'm looking for more info. Is it the same size? What is the gas mileage for the different engines?

Saab has introduced a TTiD with twin-turbo diesel that is very efficient. Why not bring it to the U.S.? There are those of us that would like some performance delivered to our senses a little more efficiently.

While my 9-3 Aero convertible isn't brand new ('04), I just got it with 19k miles on it. I waited to find a 6-speed manual, and I can't begin to tell you how much I love this car. Everyday I discover something new that impresses me, but most of all I like the handling and confidence it inspires on the road.

I average 26 overall using premium (as recommended), but recently got 33 on a trip averaging 75 mph.

The only thing I would change is somehow getting rid of the DRLs, but apparently there is no Tech II flash code for the convertibles.

The '08 restyle at first turned me away, but it is growing on me, especially in black.
