I test drove it in "D" mode only....but saw the gear can be shifted/changed manually. Has anyone tried it? Does anyone use it under normal driving? Or is it just a gimmick that people dont really use and dont really need?
Was wondering if using it would be more fuel efficient and more fun!?
Any one who had good experience with using it, please give me some insight on how to do it smoothly and how NOT to **** up the gear....would much appreciate.
This question came into mind today....I believe 99% of murano owners dont use that function......but worth a ask.
Probably only used during offroad/sand driving?! am i rite?
THanks for all inputs!
then u can push it up and down to gear up and down...
That's my question....what does it do?...when should it come in handy?
I am in Australia.....we only have two model "ST" and "TI" which both have this.
I dont think US should be any different on this part.
Just very curious.... the sales told me I can put it in that mode and shift the gears myself UP and DOWN....like driving a Daytona.
No one experienced that?

haha...found the pictures finally...check it out boys....
Does that look NEW to US owners?
Well...i guess i'll have to figure it out after i get it next week.
I think I read the headlights are different? Auto-dimming mirror? That cargo organizer?
Thanks in advance.
That spec is probably difficult to notice becasue it only effects the rear roof line. they sloped the rear window and cut the roof line to create the larger slope on the hatch. I guess this creates better aerodynamics. You would of thought they extend the car a couple of inches to create the slope or drop the trunk floor to gain more room. I never use that stupid organizer anyway. I guess we will keep the car, but I hope I don't miss the lack of cargo space when we travel. A couple of times I had to fill the trunk to the ceiling..
the space is very conformative - but yes, if you have kids, you may not have made a well-informed decision. i guess it is a lesson learned, bc you are hard pressed to "return" a car b/c you didn't understand clearly stated specs.
good luck, and i hope you can figure out how to love your murano! it's worth loving!!!
Does anyone know if there is a kit that can be purchased to add the silver accents to the black roof rails?
If not, does anyone know what the cost would be (if it is even reasonably possible) to switch the black roof rails to the silver accented roof rails?
My Googling has turned up nothing. Thanks much.
So far there have been no problems. The vehicle drives very responsive and the transmission is smooth. There are no shifting jerks. We took it on a longer trip in August and the ride and XM radio made the trip very comfortable. The vehicle is quiet compared to our previous Honda Pilot. Generally, I think the vehicle is well designed.
Cheers
as a result, if sitting in the back the audio sounds low and distant because there is virtually little audio/sound coming out of the rear speakers, none of which is from the two speakers closest to the rear passengers head in the rear window housing
the murano has the same bose audio set up as the maxima and altima, 5 speakers in the front and four in the back; does anyone who has the bose audio have the same issues as I do with the rear seat audio experience? Nissan tells me the rear window speakers are only for bass and no sound but I just can't believe it because when sitting in the back seat you can barely hear any audio and I've never had a car like this before, I want to make sure this is indeed the bose setup or if there is something electrically wrong with my car
any information, opinions, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
I'm going to have to speak with a Nissan product specialist about this issue; even if this is the way the Bose system is suppose to work I'm going to recommend they changed it
The funny thing though is I had a FX35 before this maxima and it had the exact same Bose setup as the maxima and I never had any of these issues with music quality when sitting in the rear of the vehicle; all the front speakers seem to work fine and experience is just wonderful, but it only changes once you sit in the backseats since only two of the four speakers they have back there is producing any kind of audio sound
I bet you the product specialist will tell me that the rear speakers are for Bass only; if that is the case, then how does that make sense to have the Bass up in the rear housing by the rear passengers head and the audio down in the speakers in the rear doors by their feet? every other car I've ever had there was audio/sound coming out of the speakers in the rear window

It is very uncomfortable and no way to level it, it seems like cutting circulation in my right leg (I am 5.7 and 178 pounds), finally I had to remove the cheap foam from front edge of the seat and replace with memory foam. I paid 35000 for the car. If I would know ahead - I would never buy this car.

The whistlning/vibrating sound occurred when I reached 60 mph or so.
The sound was actually coming from the base of the roof rack. I noticed that the base of the roof rack was actually loose. I told the Nissan Service department and they said they had to re-order that part.
Ever since the new base was installed, issue resolved!
Btw, I have a 2009 Murano.
Does anyone know the max capacity for the CF memory card, and if I pop off the blank in the dashboard, is there a CF reader back there? They couldn't use SD memory when designing this? Any way to convert?
Also, the million dollar question: what's the best way to get the video to play while moving? Is the lockout driven by the speed sensor, emergency brake, or gear shift? Anyone?
Anyone have tips on how to access the Bose system to add better/additional subs? Front Tweeters as weak also--a little disappointing for the money and from Bose.
I was told the music box can only take "store bought" cds--I assume they meant wav. files. Do I need to convert all my mp3s to wav to get them loaded--or am I stuck playing MP3s from the disc player. Is there a direct hack into the drive space used in the music box?
Sitting still-- I understand the DVD will play, will it play any other formats? DivX Mpeg4 etc?
If down the road I find I can't live without the 20" wheels, is it as simple as unscrewing the old ones and adding the 20", or is there a suspension geometry issue?
Same question for the xenon lights, just a plug in--or is the wiring harness different?
I appreciate the forum, and have scanned enough to see there are power users here--specific thanks there as you shaped my decision to buy.
It certainly is a nice toy. Share your buying experience and which area you bought it in. In live in the tri state area and got the same car. The stereo is actually great you need to access the audio menu to set the bass & tremble to the max to get the system's maximum benefit. I guess you did not get the sunroof or tech package? Although the DVD sounds nice is it the overhead?
Anybody else with black leather interior have the same color issue or is mine a factory screw-up? Outside color is platinum graphite. Thanks.
Anybody out there with a 2010?
I have a platinum with black leather. All interior panels are dark grey panels. However, my 2007 was grey panels all around except for the back which was a tan color as well. So it is not out of the ordinary. I do understad your frustration. It should be all in one color.
