I apologize that you took what I said to Rockmobile that way. All I was simply stating is that 4 cyl Eqinoxs have a ticking sound that comes from the injectors. As I stated I am not sure what sound he heard, but if it was that particular sound I wanted to rule that out for him because not everyone knows that. I have stated many times I am not a mechanic nor can I diagnose your vehicles over the internet. Again, I hear to help with questions and get them to the correct people if need be. Thank you,
Mariah GM Customer Service
I am aware of the constant ticking noise that suppose to be the fuel pressure regulator as told by my dealership on numerous occassions, However I had to bring back my nox 3x due to another pinging/knocking/rattling sound that's a secondary noise on top of the constant pinging. This secondary noise is only at acceleration and it's getting louder and louder as every day passes. I made a final plea with my dealership on the 18th and the mechanic that orginially examined my car said that GM has one guy working on these type of cases, he said that to his knowledge there are 20 more cases like mine that have been documented with GM and that the engineering dept is actually right now working on a new software for this particular issue. I am not sure if this is a bunch of bull they are feeding me to buy time or if this true? He also stated that the software updates will not be ready until late September. Mariah are you aware of any updates? I asked that my dealership give something to me in writing for this new conclusion, unfortuntately they were unable to provided me any info other than what was stated. I asked the mechanic whats wrong with the car and what's the noise I am hearing he said that the noise I am hearing is sparks in the ignition? I have no idea what that means either. Mariah can you fill us in?
If it has been retailed as a iPod adapter and it doesn't work with any iPods that I have connected to it, then I think it is more of an issue with the vehicle and not Apple.
I did read back over my original post and forgot to mention that this only started happening after the computers in my car had been reset multiple times for other electrical problems with the vehicle. My apologies for not stating that in the original post.
In my personal experience if I had my Ipod volume up all the way it would cause a similar concern to what you are experiencing. It wouldn't matter how low or high the radio speakers were. It works best with the volume half way on my Ipod. So try checking how high you have your volume on your Ipod and see if that helps at all. Thank you,

sparks in the ignition( the secondary noise coming from the engine at acceleration-
knocking/rattling/pinging noise)
Thats what they told me this past Wednesday the 18th.
Gas mileage depends on many variables: driving style, roads, speeds, traffic, etc. Try using cruise control and the "eco" setting as much as possible. Have you checked your tire pressures with a good pressure gauge and rotated your tires as specified? The type of gas also has an effect on mileage. I get better mileage using one particular brand over others. You have to do some experimenting.
Oil life remaining will also have an effect. Do you use synthetic? Also, at 17K have you checked the condition of the air filter?
I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.
I apologize that you have had concerns with your vehicle. I would like to have one of our agents look at your concern further. If you would like to do this I will need you to email me your VIN, dealership, contact information and best time to contact you. The agent will require that you take the vehicle to the dealership to be diagnosed. You can get my email by clicking on gmcustsvc. Thank you,

Have you talked to the dealership and told them the concern is back again? Thank you,
Mariah GM Customer Service
It only seems to happen after maintaining direction without input on the steering wheel but I disagree with another post that said it only occurs in the center position. I felt it today coming out of a long steady curve.
Is GM doing anything to address this? I've read a number of similar stories from Equinox and Terrain owners.
I apologize that you are experiencing an issue with your vehicle. Have you had the vehicle diagnosed for the concern? How long has the concern been present in the vehicle? Thank you,
Mariah GM Customer Service
Thank you for your interest. This issue just started two days ago and I have not yet had the vehicle diagnosed. My dealer is 40 miles away - they gave great service and I got a great deal but it makes taking the vehicle in for service a bit of a headache. I am considering using another (closer) dealership's service department but they blew the initial sale and I feel strange going back there for service.

I can understand taking your vehicle to be fixed can be a headache. When you take your vehicle in please keep me posted on how everything goes. Thank you,

My nox started at 5,000. Since I have upgraded to
prem. fuel and it has helped
Did they tell you what the update is supposed to fix besides just saying "it should fix your problem."? Is it another update to the transmission calibration?
I have also been using premium fuel the past couple months and noticed a big difference in engine noise and performance (same issues everyone else had - "dieseling", loud ticking, a little pinging on occasion under acceleration). I wonder if they just set something too low for the 87 fuel to try and obtain the higher mpg? I wonder if 89 octane would be enough? Hmmm...
Have you taken the vehicle to the same dealership every time for the tests? If so, maybe I would try another dealership and get a second opinion on your vehicle. Thank you,

recalibrate the spark plug.......he said something like the spark plug is firing because it's either firing to soon or too late. Then they said try using a higher grade gas -which in return I did and I noticed a big differance. So what I am gathering in all of this is that
my personal mechanic was right from the get go....I am thinking there isn't enough gas getting to the engine and the spark plug is misfiring because of that and then I asked the dealership is this going to leave holes in my pistons? He said it shouldn't BUT I can't guarantee without looking into your engine and we have not done so.
you hit the nail on the head...that's exactly what they dealership said.
The dealership stated GM has to reconfigure the spark plug...something like that it's
sparking too soon. They also said that I should be using better grade gas, I switched over to a better grade at mobil and I noticed huge difference. My car also bucks at low speeds and feels hesitant and down shifts wierdly I mentioned all that to the dealership
and he said "I bet it's all related"????????
Your situation sounds like mine...don't really know for sure but there are alot
of similarities. I switched over to prem. gas hoping that it would help and I have to say
it did BUT I think GM should fix this issue regardless.
I have been told several times from GM& the dealership that a new software will be implemented, GM had said to me after several I mean several trips to the dealer
that it should be ready near or at the end of September and what I am hearing is the
spark plug is misfiring, not sure why it's misfiring all I know is that's what it is
and the software should be updated soon. Now I am wondering my car bucks at low speeds my car feels hesitant and it down shifts awful I wonder if it's all realted the dealership had said it most likely all is related to the spark plug BUT I am no mechanic.
have never come across
I haven't gotten too worked up about the initial quality issues, the warantee repair work that I needed, and the lingering issues such as pinging and sticky steering. But now I can't even get new wiper blades?? The parts guy was like "what's the big deal, its just a wiper blade".
Not being able to see when its raining is a big deal. This is a safety issue for me, and that's where I draw the line. Last I checked, GM is still building Equinox's - and I assume they're putting wiper blades on them. Apparently GM is so concerned with keeping the production line running that they can't divert a few of those parts to their existing customers who need them. I'm officially no longer an Equinox fan.
My advice for anyone else who needs new blades but can't get them: RainX washer fluid. It's not a replacement for new blades, but it really helps out by beading up the water.
BTW - have you changed your rear blade yet? I spent a long time trying to figure out how to remove the old one. Then the dealer service manager tried for about 20 minutes. Turns out it just snaps out and back in - there is no release button or latch. The problem is being able to grab it to pull it out since the plastic blade cover is in the way and you can't see or even feel what you are doing. Eventually, the service manager used a hook shaped tool to get underneath and just pried it out. Fortunately, he didn't charge me for his time.
Do you currently have a case number for the parts delay? If so, what is the case number? Thank you,
Mariah GM Customer Service
I used the part numbers from the Rock Auto website to find the correct blades at a local parts store. I can confirm that the Anco Profile A17M (Passenger side) and A24M (Drivers side) blades do fit, even though they may not be listed in the parts store catalog or computer for the 2010 Equinox.
The Anco Profile blades appear to be the exact same blade as the original, except for the mount. Since they are universal fit, you have to use an adapter (included in the package) to fit the pushbutton style mount on the Equinox.
Those new wipers were sure nice during my two hour drive in the rain this morning.
