2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer coolant fan overspeed

my 02 trailblazer coolant fan is making a loud roaring noise on acceleration.my service engine light is on and i had it read and its comming up as coolant fan overspeed.any ideas what the problem might be.

    The viscous clutch has probably gone out, causing the fan to run at high speed all the time.
