How about premium + 2014 S4, 3yr/15K? Same for prestige as well if they are different.

    Thanks
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,188
    Both are .00070 MF

Premium Plus residual is 54%... Prestige is 52%

I'm trying to find the MF and Residual for a 2014 S4 Prestige Automatic, 12,000 miles for both 36 and 42 month lease.

Also, I'm trying to compare what my estimated monthly will be between this car and the 2014 A6 TDI Prestige. Aside from the MF and Residual, what else should I be sure to include to get a somewhat accurate monthly estimate?

Also, I've read a few things about the difference of putting more down vs putting money towards a security deposit? Can someone elaborate?

Lastly, what are the other ways to reduce the cost? Audi Care, Customer loyalty, etc..

Thanks in advance, and my bad if I'm making you repeat this.

    2014 S4 Prestige 36mo, 12K/yr lease
    .00070 MF and 54% residual

42 month is .00090 MF and 50% residual

The other factors to consider when comparing to another vehicle are MSRP and selling price... a bigger discount from MSRP usually makes for a cheaper lease payment.

    Reducing cost?

    1) Stick with the Premium Plus instead of Prestige.. residuals are higher
    2) Buy AudiCare. It increased the residual by 1%.. That makes for cheap maintenance.
    3) Multiple Security Deposits.. you can buy down the money factor.. Actually, you will "rent down" the money factor, because you get the security deposits back at lease end..

Can dealers refuse to give Audis money factor? One dealer is quoting .00125 on any lease and simply refuse to give .00070. They haven't run my credit but they flat out refuse to even entertain .00070.

Is that normal and or allowed?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,188
Sure.. dealers can mark up the money factor for extra profit, and many do..

That's why members seek out those numbers... to see if their dealer is being upfront.. you might have to shop around.

Any idea what AFS is offering on 60 and 72 month financing? If this is the wrong place I apologize.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,188
On the S4, they offer 1.9% up to 66 months... 2.4% for 72 months..

Don't be surprised if the dealer tries to mark up those rates, as well...

    kyfdx,
Do you know what the november lease rates and residuals are for 2014 S4 premium plus?

looking for 15k per year and for 36, 39, 42 and 48 month terms.

Audis calculator online seems like 48 months might be a sweet spot but hard to tell without disclosure of the actual rates.

    Thanks!
  • cjacob6cjacob6 Member Posts: 10
Dealer just replied back with these number for premium plus:

For 36 months/15k the residual is 54% and money factor is .00070.
    42 months/15k it is 50% and .00090

Any idea of 48 months and 39 months?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,188
The 39 month residual is 52%

The 48 month residual is 47%, but you don't get the special money factor, so that won't lease out very well....

Hi, I'm looking for some insight. First is this a good lease deal? I got and offer from an Audi sales manager for a 2014 S4 Premium + with options at an MSRP of $57,635, he offered it to me for $500 over invoice at $54,168, MF is .0007, Residual is 56%. 36 mths/12K miles.

2nd question. Lets say I put money down on this car to reduce the cap. I know many people say to put no money down but I would like to in order to reduce my payments. I have a trade in, so if I trade in my car and put a little as a down payment they will cut me a check for the difference. My question is... what happens to all of that money that I put down initially at the beginning of the lease to when my lease term expires? IS my down payment lost? Or can I use that after my 36 months is over and put that towards another lease or the purchase price of the car at the end of lease?
  • MichaellMichaell Moderator Posts: 240,084
If you put money down or use the equity in your trade to reduce the cap cost, then that is a down payment and you get nothing back at the end of the lease.

However .. if you use the same money or equity as multiple security deposits (MSD) to lower the money factor, then that money will be returned to you at lease end.

That money isn't lost.... Like a downpayment on a loan, you are reducing the monthly payment...

There are plenty of good reasons not to make a down-payment on a lease, but you aren't "losing" the money.... You get it back in the form of a lower lease payment.

There isn't any pot of money to get back at lease-end, though..

So in essence I am prepaying a few lease payments. I realize that if I total the car early on I am out of that money. Where I can make money is at the end of my lease contract and choose to either sell my car to a another party or negotiate another lease using the equity in my car to either purchase another car or lease another car?

Also, in regards to my first question, does that appear to be a good lease offer? It also includes: 1st lease payment waived, and no Security Deposit.

I would appreciate your insights as to whether this is a good deal or is something hidden. Not sure about the down payment part of this offer.

    2014 Audi S4 Prem Plus
    Lease: 36/15K
    MF .0007
    Residual 54%

Per Edmunds - this looks like invoice for the car they are offering:
    Invoice $46,037.00
    Dest Fee $895.00
    Nav $2,837.00
    Sports Diff $1,024.00
    Napa leather $1,163.00
    Bose Sound $791.00
    19" $744.00
    Badges $135.00
    Carbon Inlays $467.00
    $54,093.00 + $500 (dealer's offer)

1K bonus offer (BMW owner), $2k down, Payment of $722.12/mth. It looks to me like I should be able to get that monthly payment without putting $2k down. Also, would the dealer add the dest fee in their invoice + $500 offer?

With just the $1000 conquest bonus as a down payment, I get $677/mo for the payment..

That doesn't include tax, acquisition fees, title/licensing or doc fees..

Destination should always be included in MSRP and invoice/offering prices..

kyfdx - thanks for the reply. Just left the dealer and there are a few fees I am surprised by. Can I ask you to please verify one more time this deal?

2014 Audi S4 Prem Plus (Nav, Sports diff, Bose, Driver Assist, Badges, Carbon Inlays, 19”wheels)
    36/15k
    54% residual
    .0007

    MSRP $58,445
    Invoice + 500 = $55,868
Rebate = $1780 (conquest + Audi first payment, Season of Audi)
    Capped Fees = $80.00
    Upfront fee = $729.75
    Total Taxes = $2,264.93
    Adjusted Cap cost = $54,459
    Lic/reg = $465
Amount due at start = $3,780
Cash down = $2000 (would still like to not do this)
    Working case = $3,780
    Base monthly rental = $722.12
    Total Monthly Payment = $779.89

Invoice should be $54,569 + $500 for a total of $55,069. There are $800.00 in fees that I want to know if I can negotiate.

    Advertising $425.00
Can’t remember this one but it is $179.00 (another ad fee I think)
    Prep and Inspection $195
They do have to bring the car in from another dealer – claim they aren’t charging me.

Anything I can do about these fees?
Would you put 2K down? Seems like a higher payment makes more sense than 2K upfront
Any areas I should question or negotiate?

I'm sharing my lease numbers on a 2014 S4 prestige for you reference.

    Audi S4 Prestige 2014 (manual)
    MSRP: $58,250
    lease 36/10K
    Residual: 55%
    0 down, 0 due at sigining, 1st payment Jan 13 2014
    $692/month without tax
    $760/month with tax

Definitely not the best deal ever but don't feel ripped off either :)

Also if you do Audi Care doesn't this increase the residual by 1%.

    So 2014 S4 Premium Plus 36mo, 10K/yr lease
.00070 MF would have a 58% residual with Audi Care. I believe Audi Care is ~$830 and makes sense since it raise the residual and you also get ~$500 of services from it.
  • nova1987nova1987 Member Posts: 1
    Looking at an S4 premium
    MSRP 55,475
    Cap Cost 52,200
    MF .0007
    36 mths
    10K
    NJ tax 7%
    Luxury tax .4%
    Residual 58%

    Audi Care $304
    lease inception fee 695
    bank fee 495
    cash down 2995
    audi loyalty 1000

according to the dealer its approx 6K out of pocket if I choose to pay all fees and taxes upfront.

    Monthly payment is 523.
If I roll the taxes in its about 572

not a fan of 6K out of pocket because of the fees. Is that a good cap cost or should there be some wiggle room?

    Thanks,

What a great forum! It's very cool that everyone is helping each other out.

Would love to know if this is a nice deal.. It seems like a high monthly payment based on the previous posts and lease calculators.

2014 S4 Premium Plus, MSRP $55,140 (nav, sport dif, badges, etc.)
-$1000 off for coming off a Lexus
    -$600 off for no reason

    Adjusted price of $53,540
    Trade in allowance of $9,500
    Doc fee of $75
    Tax of $1,136.33
    Misc Fees $1,373.25

    Balance $46,624.58

    36 mos @ 10k/miles payment is $530

Does that seem right to all of you fine people?

    @teddyted

Your adjusted price a/k/a Negotiated Sales Price should not be MSRP less incentives like Conquest Cash. Use Edmunds.com to calculate invoice price for your car. You are basically aiming for $500 - $1000 over invoice, or somewhere along the lines of 5 - 6% off MSRP as your Negotiated Sales Price. If you can do better than that, then great; but you can rest assured you are getting a fair deal if you fall somewhere in that range.

THEN, your incentives and trade-in allowance are applied.

You need to have MISC fees broken out so you know what is being added on. Do not pay docs fees, vehicle prep fees or the like. Sales tax, tags/tile/registration and $695 AFS Acquisition Fee are all standard; anything else is likely padding.

You also want to ask what money factor and residual value are being used to calculate your lease payment.

    Good luck.

Hello all! I'm looking for advice before I go into the dealership. I already drove the car and love it. I'm going to try and get the dealer to agree to the numbers below. Does this sound like a doable deal? Could it be better? Am I bonkers?

    The car:
    2014 Audi S4 Premium Plus – Manual - Monsoon Gray Metallic - M.S.R.P.: $53,550

This is what I'd like to get for a deal:

    15k/36month lease with $0 down.

Sale Price: $50,070 (6.5% off MSRP).

Lease Residual Value: $31,059 (58% residual value).

Money Factor: 0.0007 (willing to put up to $5,000 as security deposit).

I'll pay all fees at signing (Tax, docs, Acquisition, etc.).

I'll pay for the AudiCare upfront as well.

This puts the monthly around $625.

What's the current Money Factor? .0007 still current? Also, is the residual on 15k still 54%? What is it for 18k miles? Thanks!

Thanks for being the most informative lease forum around! I ordered a 2014 S4 Prestige in November of 2013 and it's finally supposed to arrive around the end of February. Do you have current lease rates on the above vehicle for 36 months and 12k as well 15k? Also, is the Audi care residual "discount" still in effect?

Thanks in advance! And of course I will keep everyone updated on what deal I get once it comes down to it.

Live in NH no sales tax, current situation is I drive 24K miles a year. Want to test the high mileage lease options or get a 15K mile lease and add miles during the 1st 6 months. Lease term I was thinking either 24 or 36 months. With this said, what do you feel is my best option...what is todays MF, and any guesses what my residual value would be with both lease terms. I would like to know what my rough payments would be. Thanks guys.

    2014 S4 Prestige 36mo, 15K/yr lease

    .00051 MF and 51% residual. Add 2% for 12K/yr

Those rates should be good for the entire 1st quarter, unless there is an unscheduled change.

As far as I know, you still get a 1% residual bump if you add AudiCare.

The S4 residual for 36 months is only 7% less than the 24 month residual, so the longer lease term is definitely going to be cheaper. Of course, at 24K/yr, you'll be out of warranty for the 3rd year, so you have to balance that against the lower payment. The money factor for either term is .00051.

The 36mo. 15K residual is 53%. I'm not sure how Audi handles high-mileage leases, but other Euro brands charge by the mile, over the 15K/yr limit. Assume $0.15/mi. and that reduces the 15K/yr residual by a further $4050 (27K mi. X $0.15).

My local Audi dealer has one S4 in stock, with an MSRP of $56,840, so I'll use that one as an example.

    $56,840 MSRP

    $54,000 Selling price (- 5%)

Adjusted residual of 46% (to account for the extra $4050)

    .00051 MF

$815/mo. with 1st payment, acquisition fee and title/registration/dealer fees due at signing.

On the 24 month lease, the payment would be around $985/mo.

All that is based on the assumption that your extra miles will be paid for by a residual reduction of $0.15/mile.. (that's how BMW does it).

Vow this is an amazing forum it has helped me a lot. I have a question for you guys I just had a discussion with a dealership regarding a premium plus MT S4 with sports diff and adaptive suspension MSRP 51,095, which they plan to order for me.
The sales manager is willing to agree to a sale price of 47,518 (7% below MSRP). As I understood from this forum that that is a decent sales price.
however there were a couple of things he said which I did not quiet understand he wants me to deposit 2k (insurance apparently refundable or can be added to the upfront payment) after finalizing the deal prior to delivery.
Any body else seen that for cars that are ordered.
Secondly he told me that the current residual and MF for a 12k 36 month lease is 56% and 0.00051 which seemed right but he can not guarantee that for when the car arrives and he will use the residual and MF that AFS has at that time to calculate lease payment.
    Is that accurate?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That all sounds accurate.. Audi doesn't let you lock in rates on ordered cars, like BMW.

So, the sales manager can't guarantee the terms, but what he can do..is guarantee that you'll get the base money factor with no mark-up, when your car shows up..

$51K is pretty spartan S4, and I'm guessing he wants a deposit, because that might be a hard car to retail, if you decided not to take it. (I wouldn't mind it, though.. lol)
