Gas pedal and brake pedal too close together?

I test drove a 2010 Scion xB on Monday. The main reason that I was looking at it was because of its good interior space. An important consideration for someone like me who is 6'2" and 250 lbs.The seating was good, though I did find the view through the rear of the car to be somewhat obstructed. The main problem I had with the car though was that the gas and brake pedals seemed to be too close together. Not an insignificant problem when you sneaker size is 13EE! Did anyone else also find the spacing of the brake and gas pedal to be too close together? Dave
