    We live north of Boston so we are looking for something all seasonal with good treadwear.It is used mostly around town with some highway driving...Thanks

    I recommend the Nokian WR G2. It is a fabulous tire which is snow-rated but which you can leave on year-round. Do some research on it. You will be impressed.

    In addition, the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred can't be beat for treadwear and has very respectable snow and ice traction.

    Second the recommendation for the Nokian WR-G2. I installed on my 03 Forester in Minnesota last fall, and we're having a mega-snow winter. The Forester/Nokian combo is unstoppable.

    My previous tires were the Nokian WR, great tire also but wore out in 30K miles. I left them on year-round.

    Can I put larger tires on my 2006 Forester?
    I have 15" on it now.
    What size up is acceptable?
    I want mor eheight and hopefully lift.
    Also, please tell me where to get a fair priced body lift kit?
    any feedback is appreciated, thanks

    There is not a lot of clearance fore and aft in the wells, so you will not be able to up-size by much... maybe 1" of diameter. I think the stock size on that car is 215/60/R16, so another inch takes you to what, 215/65/R16. You might get away with 225/65/R16. It really all comes down to what the car will tolerate without rubbing. Stock on the 2009+ is 225/60/R16 (about 1/2" larger diameter than yours), and I am confident that could be interchanged with the older models.

    As far as a lift kit goes, I cannot help you...

    I ran 225/60R16s on my 1998 and it never rubbed. Stock size was 215/60R16.

    That's not a big difference, though.

    Not sure about the 06s, but I doubt there is any less space in the wheel wells

    The Aussie Forester owners would swear by Lovell Springs, which gave you a 2" lift. They were never sold here because Americans rarely go beyond an orchard.

    Careful - some Ozzies lifted theirs 4" but they had issues with the driveshaft. There just isn't as much "slop" built in to these tight-tolerance Japanese cars.
