2010 Town and Country problem

I have a 2010 T&C with 6k miles, since day one we have had an issue. When you are at a stop and release the break to go the car hesitates. First they told us it was a break pad problem, could not fix with out permission, had to come back to get it fixed. When that did not work trip three they figured it was a transmission problem and need to schedule later visit with their specialist. Trip four sorry no problems found and Chrysler says it's a normal driving condition. anyone have a similar story?

I'd suggest to both posters that they each try taking their vehicles to different dealers and ask for a computer reflash for the tranny. FWIW, our 2010 Town & Country Limited's 6-speed automatic transmission has been absolutely flawless in over 9,600 miles. Mated to the 4.0L V-6 motor, this powertrain has been an awesome performer.

Van has just a little over 2000 miles. When new, right side sliding door had a slight noise in panel added by VMI during conversion -- this was fixed. It has since developed a major banging at the bottom of the C-Piller each time a bump is hit. VMI dealer has tightened door twice but noise persists.

Have anyone else had this type off problem? The dealer requested that I record the rattle so they could send it to VMI corporate. The rattle is very loud but it is impossible to record due to road noises, etc., which drown out the rattles on my recorder.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Transmission issues had been identified on an RRT that "disappeared" from the dealers computer, it was later explained that it was a repair order only for vehicles to be sold. RRT 10-058. nothing was ever done to my satisfaction but other than a rough shift from 1st to 2nd while coasting the tranny has been fine.
The writer asking about a rattle from under the drivers side slider may find this helpful. I was getting a similar rattle and complained a few times, it turned out to be the brake cables not being secured properly on the chassis. Whatever they did to tie them up solved the rattle. Another rattle sounded like a loose exhaust component like a shield rattling against the muffler while turning sharp and shifting from D to R or opposite. Again after several complaints they replaced the idler pulley and serp. belt which solved the problem. Recent 2010 brake issues have been acknowledged by Chrysler also. I had complained of shimmy in the steering wheel while braking as well as premature rotor wear on the rear brakes. They recently replaced my Front rotors and pads as well as rear brake pad clamps. Hopefully this will solve the issues.

My 2010 T&C electronic drivers side door is opening and closing constantly when the motor is off, and even with the doors locked. I have called 2 different dealerships, have an appointment for 3 days from now. Anyone else with this problem?

Our T&C was manuf in Sept 2010; purchased on Dec 2, 2010.
Starting in Jan 2011 there has been a "burnt" exhaust smell each time I go from 75' above sea level to 2,000' within 3 miles. Attributed this to whacky CA emissions.
Check engine light came on 10/13/2012; took car to dealer 10/15.
Dealer told me, and SHOWED me bad heads, bad rocker arms.
Engine is stripped, awaiting new parts.
Found out from mechanic that the diagnosis came so quickly as this is the THIRD one like mine they have completed the same repairs.

Looking for others with this problem.

FYI I have a long relationship with this Dealer and except for this problem the T&C has been an excellent vehicle

Is this problem resolved? If not, suggest you take the batteries out of your remote and see if the problem goes away.

We had a bad transmitter which caused wierd problems

    Good luck

I have a 2008 and have complained so many times about the same thing!!

Coming out of a store to both sliding doors wide open and the doors are still locked.

My dealership after 7, yes I said 7 repairs - finally replaced every single part in both doors and reprogrammed the car. So far it hasn't happened again.

COMPLAIN COMPLAIN AND COMPLAIN to Chrysler. And if you have it fixed more than 3 times - it qualifies for Lemon Law!!!

My T&C has had MANY issues since day 1. To date, I have had the car in for 4 front brake jobs including 1 complete replacement from the hubs to the pads. 1 rear brake job, transmission check for slipping, 3rd row passenger electronic seat malfunction, doors don't close and pop back open, and NOW, as I write this, it is in the shop with the engine completely torn out. It blew 2 bearings, 2 rods and 2 pistons. I asked why they were repairing it rather than getting a new engine and the service man told me that if he asked for a whole new engine, he would have to take pictures of every part of the engine, bearings, pistons and rods included. That was too much trouble for them. It also needs it's 5 front brake job (rotors replaced) and 2 rear brake job (pads replaced). It's only got 58K miles on it. This car is too much trouble for only being 3 yrs old. WHAT A LEMON!
