Since nobody is suggesting anything for your question, I guess I will throw in my two cents. I have had a lot of luck with Goodyear Weatherhandlers. The last set lasted 120,000 miles. I drive over reasonably smooth roads - no dirt roads or giant potholes, and I get them balanced and rotated every 10,000 miles. This is included in the price of the original mounting.

The tires also are quiet running. However, I don't know if they meet your requirement of 'value-priced'.

I bought el cheapo Kumho (sp?) for my 95 Wagon and they seem to work fine. I run 45psi - a little high - and with a light foot regularly get 37-38mpg in mixed driving. pretty even wear in last 28K miles. they look fine, too.
