So... $877 upfront and 35 more payments of $211.72? Pretty good for a $23.5K MSRP.

How much negotiation did you do for this lease price?

  • capcocapco Member Posts: 26
    edited July 2014

Not much negotiation. Basically, I signed on with TruCar who sent my inquiry to their "guaranteed dealers" and this dealer contacted me with a non-lease offer with higher rebates but was close to my target price (as per the TruCar recommendation) and they came up with this quote. So, you think it's good? Or loaded with fees? This is my first time leasing. Residual quoted as $13,199.

If the $255/mo is with taxes, I'd say you got a pretty good deal on a car that stickers north of $25K.

Do the end of the month good deals really exist? My interest in the Altima is that it has a lot of front leg room. I hope I don't have to pay a lot for comfort.

Hi all. From Chicago here, wondering if this is a good deal. Got an offer yesterday on a 2014 Altima 2.5S, with mats, spoiler, remote start, 16" alloy wheel, molding and splash guards.

MSRP: 24800 (including $810 destination and options)
    Cap: 22600
    Residual: 55%
    MF: .0003
    Down: $600 (1st month plus license,title,doc)
Monthly: $314 (36mons/12k, including Chicago taxes)

I feel like I can get them down a bit. Any thoughts? I did the numbers and it seems okay considering IL taxes are rolled in.

The dealer is using the base MF of .00003 (four 0's, not three), so the only way to reduce your payment is to negotiate a lower cap price and/or put money down (which we don't recommend).

IL taxes kill your leases - but, the law is changing as of 1/1/15.

Hi. I'm working on a 2014 Altima SV deal in NJ. 36 mos./ 12k miles a year. Based on previous inquiries the residual is 0.56. What I really need to know, however, is what is the MF for the dreaded Tier 4? I know it is significantly higher but I'm hopeful that I can still work out a reasonable payment for this vehicle since my current lease terms in a few months. Thanks.

I show the residual for the 2.5 SV as 55% for 36mo, 12K/yr.

The base MF for Tier 1 is .00003, while Tier 4 is .00036, so not too bad of a hit.. .00033 higher..

    Thanks

A few nissan dealers in the NJ/ NY tristate area are advertistising $4000 lease loyalty cash on their websites. Does anyone know if Nissan is offering that much loyalty cash or is it the respective dealer? Further, with any loyalty cash offer does the dealer have carte blanche in using it ie some towards payments on old lease and some towards the new deal like cash back, etc. The only offer i've seen from dealers is $1225 lease cash + $500 NMAC for '14 altima lease but wanted to make sure i wasn't overlooking anything. Thanks.

    deep6ed,

A lot of Nissan dealers like.... Miller Atlantic , Lynne's , Huntington were running the early spring 4k lease incentive in our area that ended 3/31/ 14.. What dealers are you speaking of in our area??

I know Nissan was pushing to sell some models in early spring but think that's gone. I looked on above web sites and that 4k incentive ended march.

I'm going to help my friend lease a SL Altima so keep me posted on any good dealers you come across with pricing and I will do the same.

I think our gracious host @michaell will be able to help you with the breakdown on your deal . I'm also curious to see if you received a good deal for I'm leasing the same vehicle but with 12k instead of 15k.

@v4npro, Did dealer try to stick in the 281 advertising fee on your lease.?

When you look at the numbers on your lease please post what the agreed selling price was on the vehicle and what incentive/ rebates dealer gave you. Tks ...........................Brian

Would you be able to provide MF at the different credit tiers for 2014 altims 2.5 sv?

  • deep6eddeep6ed Member Posts: 7

@brian125‌. Its currently on Meadowlands Nissan Website under specials and the first item and it says expires 8/31/14 on website. After posting I saw several of those offers at other dealers that expired at the end of the first quarter. We are turning in a lease with 18k miles and while many dealers will agree make/ waive remaining payments most want to see car before even making an offer on payments for new deal.

Maybe its me but in worse case scenario they term deal with 4 remaining payments and don't take for their inventory they can figure out a payment. Should they want vehicle and it has equity bonus for me with new found cash for new deal. After going to several dealers this past weekend and their wasting my time, i'm not anxious to visit anymore unless i know we are in the neighborhood. One mistake I believe I made was not steering the conversation away from payment to cap cost or selling price.

Hopefully we will complete transaction Saturday and I will post the details of the deal. Thanks for your input brian125.

  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244

    deep6ed,

Remember most dealers have a high doc fee charge in NJ where as NY can only charge 75 dollars by law. NJ doc's can go as high as 499. Take that into consideration before agreeing on the final sale price of vehicle.

  • deep6eddeep6ed Member Posts: 7

@brian125‌ Thanks again I will keep doc and inception fees in mind. I think that by having discussion about selling price at least I can see if they are really trying to work with me or not. I can estimate payment myself with that info.

Now if I could figure out how to not go to a dealer until we are ready to sign. Oh well, rome wasnt built in a day!

Hard to say .. some of these dealers may simply be calling their discounts from MSRP "lease cash". Or, they are using finance companies other than NMAC. Check the Car Research tab at the top of the page for the current Altima incentives.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think lease cash can be used only in two different ways - 1) as cap cost reduction (down payment), or 2) to help cover up front expenses like taxes and fees. I suppose #1 might cover negative equity from a trade.

I don't have the actual scores associated with each tier; here is what Nissan provides:

    Tiers 1-3 - .00003
    Tier 4 - .00036
    Tier 5 - .00078
    Tier 6 - 00123
    Tier 7 - .00178
    Tier 8 - .00365
    Tier 9 - .00465

Numbers above are valid for either 24 or 36 month leases.

Ok, so car value $27145, upfront sales tax $720, title registration etc.. $299, acquisition fee $595, service maintance(got the basic plan oil change+tire rotation)$849, prc $300..

    total gross $29908
    gross capitalized cost $27145

    residual value $15511
    depreciation 13397
    rent charge 47.85

looks like they gave me $1373 off with rebate and incentives.

So again my payment is $373 a month. I figured I'm just paying in advance on the oil change and tire rotations since I got the basic plus service plan which I think I can cancel if anyone here thinks its not worth getting and would drop my payments to $350.

  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244

If you paid 849 for oil change svc. Please cancel it. 300 is okay but still pricey to me.. Figure 2 oil changes a year x 6 or 3yrs. ??? At 30 dollars a oil change would be 180 dollars for 3 years. How much will it cost you at a local shop.. Or do it your self.??? Here in NYC a. reg/ oil change can be done as cheap as 21.95. A synthetic oil change is more but you don't need to use synthetic unless manufacturer requires it.

    23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE

  • v4nprov4npro Member Posts: 4

It's every 5k miles. They said they use semi synthetic oil and they charge $69.95 a oil change. So I figured if I get 3 oil changes a year and 4 tire rotation everytime would be around same price. I got 30 days to cancel according to the fine print with 100% money back.

  • v4nprov4npro Member Posts: 4
    edited August 2014

Ok, I going to cancel the service package. I just called the dealership and an oil change is $49.95 NOT $69.95 which I was told during signing the paper. And 4 wheel tire rotation is $25. So $75 total, not worth the $849 over 3 years I can do cheaper. 5qts of full synthetic at walmart is $25. Damn places do really over charge for synthetic :s

  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244

Yep. I buy all my oil at Walmart and buy 2 or 3 filters when either Walmart/ Kmart has there sales.. If you buy the syn/mix its cheaper than 25 dollars, more like 14 to 17 dollars depending on brand................ enjoy your new ride.

    36 month, 15k a year $235.00 a month with 0 drive off.
I tried to get the dealer to disclose the numbers but he was deceptive ( residual in mid 50's) anyway, I thought the deal was not bad based on my reading here, many thanks to our hosts and all who contributed.
I appreciate any comment or feed back as it will benefit other buyers.

This is my first time leasing a car and got a price quote for Nissan Altima 2.5S.
    Can anyone review this calculation?
    MSRP: 23640
    Invoice: 21903
    Internet Savings: -1500
    Rebate: -1000
    NMAC Finance: -750
    Sale Price: 18653
And there is** extra $500 bonus cash **not included in sale price. I don’t know what this means.
    Residual Factor: 55%
    Money Factor: 0.00003
My calculator shows $168.98(7% NJ tax) monthly payment based on this information.
    I guess I have to pay $ 867 upfront for first month payment(168.98), title(399) and license fees(298).
    Did I miss anything?

The $500 extra bonus cash may be a Labor Day weekend promotion.

NJ calculates the taxes for the entire lease up front and you have the option of adding that amount into the cap cost or paying it with your other up front fees.

Without tax, I get a monthly payment of $157.92 using the numbers you've provided.

I'm going to meet a sales person tomorrow. I really like this payment. Honestly, $157 is lower than what i expected for Altima 2.5S. Their ad says $189 with $1999 down. If he/she try to bump up the monthly payment, what would they try to add in?
    Thanks.

Remember, this is before tax - in NJ, they calculate the tax for the entire lease up front and either add it to the selling price or you pay it out of pocket at lease inception.

    Thanks Kyfdx!

The deal I got yesterday on a 2015 2.5 SV Altima with Tech pkg was:

    MSRP: $28,370
Selling Price: $22,670 ($1,000 Incetinve incl)
    Mi/yr: 15,000
    Term: 36
    Out-of Pocket: $1500
    Monthly: $215 7% tax incl.

But I didn't do the deal =/. They didn't have the right color combo I wanted, and I tend to like the Sonata a little bit more. Just wanted to list the deal here for others in case it helps.

Thanks to the admins for answering all requests and questions!
