Good move. It had to be the slowest V8 powered passenger car on the planet. I doubt the fuel economy will improve much, but at least it should be a little faster.

What next Front wheel drive? That could be a disaster for Ford is people want a vehicle to tow with.
It seems Ford is handing much of their market share to GM

The Ecoboost is fine for towing; it will certainly out-tow the old 5.4 liter it's replacing. Ford's biggest problem with this vehicle is going to be the fact that they went back to their old ways of slapping a revised front and rear treatment on the same old design that hasn't changed for a decade. The new parts are fine, if a bit underwhelming, but it's obvious that the sides of this beast, as well as the Lincoln Navigator, are essentially the same as the originals from the 90's. This would be fine if the vehicle had seen fairly regular updates over the years, but it's been largely ignored. Love or hate the new GM full size SUV's, they all look like new vehicles. The Fords are going to look ancient in comparison.

Rumor has it that the Expedition is going to receive the F-150 aluminum treatment, along with the corresponding weight reduction in a couple of years, but I'm not sure there's going to be much market left for Ford by then.

Ford needs to finally deliver on the hype of "V6 fuel economy" in this type of ecobost engine. Aim for economy on par with the Ram V6.
