The money factor is marked up the maximum allowed over the base rate of .00130.

Why put all that money down on a lease?

I thought it might be a good way to make a lower payment.. ok so I need to get the money factor lower and maybe put 5k down.

A big downpayment will lower your monthly payment, but it really isn't saving much money.

I asked for a lower rate and here's what they said... is this true.. It looks like there is 1% interest on .00130 vs .00170..

The standard rate is .00170 and the buy rate is .00130. Even if you have top tier credit (740+) you would get the standard rate. Anything below 740 credit score BMW will start to add points on top of the .00170, not .00130. BMW allows us to mark up the rate since it allows finance to make a little bit of money (full disclosure it’s only about $500).

I don't agree .. dealer is trying to use semantics to mark up the rate. The base rate is .00130 ... this is what you should be negotiating for in your lease deal.

They are correct in saying that BMW allows them to mark up the rate for extra profit.

Might be time to contact another BMW dealer.

BMWFS says a score of 675 or greater qualifies for the buy rate.

Hello, I am trying to negotiate with a dealer on x5 2015 xDrive35d MSRP 65,200. I would like 36mo / 12K lease. I am getting about 5% off the MSRP but the dealer claims the MF is 0.00130 buy rate and they can't go any lower and RV is 56%. Such RV 56% seems quite low, but they showed me BMW published numbers.

They also said that they new program and maybe incentives are coming out on Sept
    4. Any knowledge of that?

And last question, what do you think a good deal monthly payment if I put down $1,500 cap reduction.

    Thank you very much!

    I confirm the .00130 MF and 56% residual for 36/12 on the 2015 X5 xDrive 35d.

With an MSRP of $65,200 and a selling price of $61,940 (5% discount), I calculate a pre-tax payment of $834.32.

$1500 cap cost reduction will reduce your payment by about $42/mo ($1500 / 36).

The current BMW numbers expire on 9/2, so new numbers would be released the next day.

    Hi,
Looking at a 2015 X5 lease. are there any BMW incentive programs (loyalty ect.) available currently to negotiate down the MSRP at the dealership? the MSRP on the X5 I'm looking at is $70,325, and i feel they have room to improve. any info would be greatly appreciated.

No incentive programs, but dealer invoice is about 7% below MSRP. That is your negotiating room.

However, keep in mind that the X5 is one of the top ten fastest selling vehicles in the US. Big discounts might be hard to come by.

    How does this deal sound.
    Term: 36 months
    Residual: .54
    MF:.00160
    MSRP:$70,325
    sale price: $68,000
    $2195 at signing
    taxes $2141.27
    doc fee $199.00
    recording fee: $69.00
    Monthly Payment : ?

I originally was trading a car in now I'm not so the payment i have is off I'm sure.
They also did not disclose cap costs, so any info would be great so when i go back i could be better informed.

    Hello,

I'm looking at building a xDrive35i or xDrive35d. I saw a few posts back that the September MF/RV for the 35i @10k/yr is .00129/57%. Is that the same for the 35d? Also, do you have the amount per $1k cap cost reduction that I should expect the monthly payment to decrease for each?

There is another option that I have. There is a 2014 50i on the floor at a MSRP of $87,025 (including the $925 destination charge) which has a ton of options on it. The challenge is that it was the GM's demo car and it has 3,000 miles on it. They offered the following:

$2,500 off to "compensate" for the 3,000 miles
    $1,522/mo (pre-tax) for a 24mo lease @ 12k/yr
    $1,289/mo (pre-tax) for a 36mo lease @ 12k/yr

I'm wondering if I could push for a much better deal than what they're offering.

Thank you for everything on this forum!

Hello, I wanted to get your opinion on a deal I am negotiating. I am going to order a 2015 X5 xDrive35i. MSRP is $63,500, dealer is selling it to me for about a 4% discount ($60,900). MF is .00129, residual on a 36/10k of 57%. I am putting $0 down for cap cost reduction, just typical start-ups of 1st payment, doc fee, etc. for a total of about $1,800 at signing. Payment of $813 per month without tax, $886 per month with state usage tax included.

The base MF this month is .00129, so the dealer is marking that up on you. 54% is the 36/15 residual.

With the base MF and your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $970.72.

You should check out www.bimmerfest.com. Lot of dealers on there. According to many folks there, they have ordered 2015 X5 at invoice or $500 above invoice. One person who had a $1000 certificate from the ultimate drive event, was able to order one for $1000 under invoice. Plenty of inventory out there and lots of leftover 2014s on dealer lots. Nothing to lose.

Thank you for the above post. I found a dealer who will build me a 2015 X5 xDrive35i with an MSRP of $64,375 and sell it to me for $60,500, a 6% discount. I have to come with $2,100 for start-ups, no cap cost reduction and the pre-tax payment is $788 per month for 36/10K. There may be a little more left on the table but after working with three other dealers I think it's about as good as I'm going to get.

lloyd5, see if you can sign up for the un4gettable drive event or the ultimate drive event. You can look up these on the www.bmwusa.com and see if a dealer is near you. If there is one, sign up for one or both and you will get a $1000 certificate for each event. You will however not be able to combine both certificates but $1000 off is still pretty good!

    .00129 MF and 58% residual.

The 2015 BMW X5 is the fastest selling vehicle in the country (based on days on dealer lot). So, I don't think you'll be seeing any incentives.

Hello Everyone: we are looking at a 2015 X5 with a quote consisting of MSRP $78,700 Selling $76,329. trade allowance of $9,500 term $10,500 down and $615 per month 36mo/15k. I believe that we can get the selling price lower given average retail in my area of $76,100. Considering putting 10.5k down with trade to lower payments but also willing to consider less money or no down payment with trade. What is the MF on a MSRP and 36mo/15k per year. What would you suggest for good deal? Also looking for a new 2014 as well to see if greater incentive to sell.

    .00129 MF and 56% residual.

The X5 is the fastest selling model in the U.S. Given that, your discount is decent. Rather than put the money down, ensure you are getting the base money factor, and then use Multiple Security Deposits (MSDs) to lower the money factor to .00080.

7 MSDs would be $7000-$7700, but in return, your payment would drop by $60-$65 per month for a savings of $2200 over the life of the lease. (MSDs are refundable, like any security deposit).

hello. i'm new to leasing and everyone I've spoken to has said to check out the forums for residual value vs what i'm paying, etc. - hoping someone can help.

i'm looking at a 2015 x5 xdrive 35i. optional rear view camera, rear window shades, and 3rd row. 42mo/12k with 4k down. monthly payment is 680. is that a good deal? how do I calculate residual and MF?

Those are the correct numbers for 36 months and 12,000 miles per year.

The 42 month numbers are so bad we don't want to post them here.

We do not recommend you put money down on a lease - instead, use the cash to reduce the MF by making multiple security deposits.

In order to model a payment we would need to know both the MSRP (sticker) and the negotiated selling price.

Residual value is computed against the MSRP.

The only incentives we know of are the innovations credit, which doesn't exist for the X5 ... I would suggest you use the "Car Research" tab at the top of the page to find any other current BMW incentives.

    Hi Michaell/kyfdx,

Any change in X5 programs for Nov? Is xDrive35i still 0.00129MF and 59% for 10k/36mo? Any holiday cash or 39mo program?

    Thanks!

MF has crept up to .00130 for November. 62% for 39/10.
62% for 39mo for X5? Wow that's amazing!!! Are you sure it's not a typo?

    That's a huge improvement. 3% increase for 39 months, not even 36!
