MSRP is $48634, not sure what the $2500 down covers, but taxes is rolled into the net cap cost

MSRP is $48634, not sure what the $2500 down covers, but taxes is rolled into the net cap cost

It looks like the $2500 is all cap cost reduction; without it, I get a pre-tax payment of $564.24/mo. The $2500 down will reduce your payment by about $69/mo.

Hello need some good advice before I pulled the trigger. I have trade in value $2,600 from my old vehicle to lease MDX AWD with tech with boards.Selling price 46,250.I need to put down additional $2500 to equal 450.00 a month with taxes included upfront with fees.Good deal or not. MRSP is 49725 Thanks your comments will be greatly appreciated.... This dealer is in NJ.

We don't recommend that you put money down on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money. $2500 equals about $69/mo on your lease, so the "real" payment is $519/mo, which isn't too bad on a car that stickers close to $50K.

I need to re-phrase my possible lease deal.The original proposal was $ 512.00 with 0 down with 1st month, taxes and fees upfront with totaling = $ 2700 due at signing. I added my trade in @ $2600 which brought my payment down to $ 450.00 month. Again this includes running boards Lease was for 3yrs/10,000. The money factor is 0.00120 and residual is @ 62%. I hope this makes sense.Please reply. Thanks again.

It does make sense ... $2700 out of pocket for up front costs (taxes, fees, 1st month, tags), then another $2600 trade equity as cap cost reduction. That $2600 works out to $72/mo (2600 / 36), which makes your effective payment $522/mo ($450 + $72).

My point is that we don't recommend making a cap cost reduction, either cash or trade equity. But, it's your choice.

I'm getting $558/mo, so close enough.

Only way to improve it is to negotiate a lower selling price or pay the up front costs out of pocket - that will save you about $35/mo pre-tax.

$582.79/mo is what I get as a payment if I roll everything into the cap cost. NJ calculates taxes on leases up front; that may account for the $624 quote you are getting from the dealer.

Only way to improve on that would be to negotiate a lower selling price.
