.00090 MF and 61% residual. $1000 lease cash.
Thanks!!! I'm a newbie at lease calculations so I'm trying like heck to figure what the payment should be, but I can't seem to come close to what I was told. For an MSRP of 47665 (sale price of around 44500, before any money down) and putting down 3K, I was told about 480. I'm assuming that includes Michigan's 6% sales tax, but when I do the calculations I get 408 (433 incl tax). If I work backwards from the price I got, I get the sale price to be 47050 (adding in my 3K and the lease cash).

Am I way off base? Can someone help me with the numbers? What does the $480 mean the sale price was? And if it's different than the numbers I was given (41500 after counting money down), what would those work out to?

    Thanks!

If your $3000 is the total upfront payment, then $480 goes for the first payment and $700 for the acquisition fee.. That only leaves $1820 to reduce the CAP cost.. That raises the payment to $442/mo.+tax, which puts it a lot closer to $480/mo. (though, not quite)..

Subtract some title/registration fees from the $3000 and it looks just about right. Of course, if you are putting $3000 down, plus the 1st payment and fees, then we have to start over.

This is just about comparable to the advertised leases.. About a $3000 discount including the $1000 incentive.. You might be able to do a little better than that, but probably not a lot..

Thank you - that makes perfect sense to me! I threw in another $300 for title and registration (based on Michigan costs) and I'm right on the screws basically. The conversation I had was my "out of pocket" money at signing, so your calculations are perfect. I obviously didn't understand how that out of pocket money was going to get sliced up though!

A little more research tells me this is at invoice plus about $1000 (I calculated $44,614 invoice). At least I know I'm not getting screwed. :)

    Thanks a ton!!!

I am in the process of negotiating my first lease as well as my first Lexus. I would like to see if you could lend me your expertise, I have read through quite a bit of the details on the forum and LOVE the insight I have gained. Is the following a good deal for a lease?

    -Located in Southern California
-Purchasing the Luxury Model 2015 LEXUS ES 300h 4-DOOR SEDAN
-Total price $47,084.00 (Negotiated Sale price to $41,300)

    The lease offers:
    -MF .0001 I am doing a single-pay of $10,005 (is this a good idea?)
    -27 Months/10k a year 68% residual
-$1000 lease cash included in the single-pay of $10,005

This is foreign territory for me so I would appreciate any feedback/questions.

Thank you very much in advance!

Does the $10K include tax and registration, as well?

It looks very good.. if it includes tax, then it's excellent.. Under $400/mo to lease a $47K MSRP vehicle is great.

    Hi,

I was told that $10,005 out the door. For 27 months. If out the door doesn't include taxes and destination, etc. then would it still be a good deal? Thanks.

It's funny how "out the door" doesn't necessarily mean the same thing, depending on who says it and who hears it..

Question - On 27 month leases, does the theory behind this suggest that A) I will be paying for 12 months worth of registration beginning on the 25th month B) Once I return the vehicle I will lose 9 months of paid registration vehicle costs that the dealership will get.

    thanks.

I suppose it depends on the registration laws where you live. Here in Colorado, I can take the "unused" portion of my registration and apply it to the new registration. Dealer is not involved in license / registration at all.

    Your mileage may vary.

    Help: 2015 ES300h MSRP $49,284, invoice $46,615
    36 months/15 k miles per year
$469 per month including sales tax
end of lease value $27,821 GAP ins. included
    Money factor 0.00040
$2000 lease cash (loyalty for Lexus' owner)
    they pay first lease payment
    SF bay area

I drive 25k miles per year so would buy car at end of lease. There appears to be more money
from Lexus to lease than to purchase.
    Should I take it?
Many thanks to all for their help and informative posts

Also the $2000 lease cash is the down payment covering the first payment and DMV for first year.

    .00040 MF and 57% residual.

I don't think the $2000 is loyalty. There is $1500 lease cash and complimentary 1st payment for all lessees.
Do you know the selling price or CAP cost?

I'm not a fan of leasing, when you know you can't stay under the mileage. In three years, you'll have to pay $28K for the vehicle that might be worth less than $20K. Trading a big hit later for less cash out of pocket now...

Thanks for the quick response; Dealer insists that MF is .00090 and I was dubious. The offer they have extended is as follows: $47,234.00 MSRP, discount of $2174.40, tax of $3111.96, tag fee of $139, doc fee of $599.00, acquisition fee of $700 and then additional rebate of $2000.00. This brings balance to $47, 609.46. If I were to pay taxes (here in Georgia, we now have to pay entire tax bill whether you lease or buy) they quoted me a payment of $533. They are also cutting me check for $2400 for remaining payments on my Acura TL, 2013, lease. Even with Acura check, I don't like this deal. MF is high, discounts seem light compared to others on this forum. When I balked, they said $500/mo, not sure how they arrived at that figure. Thoughts? Thanks

    MF is definitely .00055 base.

The advertised leases include a $2200 dealer discount, plus the $2000 rebate. If they are giving you another $2400 on top of that, you might be near the bottom. (other than the MF markup). they might have been able to drop the price to $500, just by letting go of the markup.

    Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I was offered a lease for a 2015 ES300h with MSRSP of $47,305 for 15k miles/36 months for $409 monthly with $2900 down including fees. The MF was 0.004 and residual value was 57%.

This is my first lease purchase and I'm trying to do my due diligence before going forward and I thought you guys would be the best resource four this.

What are your thoughts? Good deal? Do I need more info? I believe I have until the end of September to take possession according to the dealer.

    Thank you!

Need the selling price and the CAP cost, and a reconciliation of the two numbers.

.00040 MF and 57% residual (note the extra zero).

You can structure the downpayment/monthly payment however you want. We suggest lower upfront with a higher payment is better.
