Could you kindly provide the current rate factor and residual for an i3 with range extender based on the following scenarios: 36/10k and 36/12k and 39/10 and 39/12 leases.

Does the 62% residual include the 7% point increase included with Owner's Choice + Flex financing from BMWFS? My understanding is they advance you up to the $7,500 fed. tax credit as a residual bump, which you repay by lease end. So would that be 69% residual for a 3/36 OC w/Flex?

We don't have any information about Owner's Choice financing..

A local BMW sales manager confirmed that the Flex pay (up to $7,500) is applied to the residual value. With a 2/24k term, a base 62% RV + $7,500, and an MSRP of nearly $50,000, the residual value for November is about 77%.

With those terms, a zero-down, <$500/month payment on a loaded Giga is doable, especially considering the multitude of non-Rex i3s in inventory. With thanks to the U.S. taxpayer and creative corporate accounting.

.00125 MF for all i3's this month.

36/12 residual is 52%; Add 1% for 10K. $4875 lease credit. $1000 holiday credit.

No 39 month program for the i3.

No other incentive information is known to us.

With tax... The total payment, rounded up to the next $50 increment.

So, if your payment with tax is $429/mo, then each deposit will be $450

My dealer is having a difficult time confirming the increase in lease bonus cash from $4875 to $5500. A cursory review of BMW's website in other states reveals that the lease bonus cash is $5,500. However, when I search BMW's site using my zip code in South Florida, the lease bonus cash remains at $4875. Can you shed any light on this?

looking to buy an i3rex in MD. MSRP $48200, dealer offer $43140 plus tax, $299 processing fee, $925 acquisition fee. does that sound like a good offer, if car will not be leased?

Also, looking at the owner choice program, but dealer said that moneyfactor is .0017 instead of the monefactor for lease at .00125. I thought I read somewhere that both moneyfactors should be identically.

Any thoughts?

I think you'd be crazy not to lease the car, given the extra $5500 in lease cash.. especially, if you still have to pay an acquisition fee.. (marked up from the $725 base).

The base rate on OC is 2.99% (or, roughly equivalent to .00125 MF).

Even if you decide to buy the car out in 3 years, and have to pay tax again, it's still cheaper..

If I am trying to lease a 2014 i3 with the Range Extender, will I be able to subtract the $7,500 Fed Tax Credit from the price in addition to the "Build-Out Cash" and "Lease Cash"?

For example:
MSRP $54,200
Dealer Discount $ 5,015
Build-Out Cash $ 2,000
Lease Cash $ 5,500
FED Tax Credit $ 7,500
SALE Price $34,185

No .. since the car is sold to BMWFS, they get the federal tax credit. The lease cash is their way of passing that on to the customer.

I have now decided to definitely go with the 2014 i3 REX and I would really appreciate it if you could provide the numbers for 10K & 12K for 24 Months so I can compare. You did provide me with the 15K before:

2014 - .00125 and 60%. $2000 buildout cash and $5500 lease credit.

In addition, is it true that you can lower the Money Factor by a lot if you put down a security deposit?

MF stays the same at .00125, but the 24/12 residual is 62%. Add 1% for 10K.

I apologize, I was reading the 36 month numbers wrong. 36/15 residual is only 50% (small text + smart phone screen + old eyes = wrong numbers).

Yes, BMW allows a maximum of 7 MSDs, each of which will lower the MF by .00007. Net MF would then be .00076.

Each MSD is the monthly payment, rounded up to the next $50. You can make 7 of them, each of which reduces the MF by .00007.

So, you basically agree to round up your first 7 monthly payments to the next $50 and you can use the .00076 MF when calculating your monthly lease payment? Is that right?

No - you have to give BMW that cash up front.

Let's say your payment is $476/mo .. the security deposit would round up to $500. 7 of them equals $3500, which you give to BMW, in addition to any other up front costs you are responsible for. That reduces the MF.

The nice part is you get the $3500 back at the end of the lease.

The 2014 would probably be a better deal given the extra $2700 of incentives.
