    case due $500 + $472 (36mos) or $433 (39 mos).
    I'm wondering how much i can bring down costs and from where. I heard some times dealer can pay off sales tax too

    If it's a 2014, BMW is giving a $2500 Holiday Credit, so $4500 off isn't that fantastic.

    What state and tax rate?

    Ah..it's a 2015 model... only $1000 Holiday Credit on that model, so the selling price looks better.

    When I do the calculation on a 39 month, 12K/yr lease, with their total figures (but, without an acquisition fee), I get $448/mo., which is already over their quote. Add in the acquisition fee of $725 and the payment is $467/mo.

    It's possible that BMWFS has tax credits available in Texas. With these numbers, I would guess they have already been applied. But, that's just a guess. You'd need to know the specific numbers they are using to calculate the lease.

    Hi,

    I've been offered the base model. No rear camera, no navigation, nothing fancy on 36 months,

    In Seattle

    $2500 upfront
    $391/month.
    10k miles.
    Negotiated car price $33250.
    Residual price $22,500

    Do you think this is a good deal? I think I should put $1500 upfront at this monthly rate/put down $1500 and ask for $391

    With your MSRP and selling price, along with the 65% residual and .00129 MF, I get a pre-tax, $0 down, payment of $372.52/mo for 36 months.

    What is the breakdown of the $2500 due at signing? Any of that going to cap cost? What is the tax rate?

    Hey guys - looking into getting my first lease. information here has been quite helpful. Below are the relevant info on my build:

    MSRP: $38,170
    Net Cap Cost: $36,000
    Lease Term: 36 months
    Mileage: 15k
    MF: 0.0017
    CA Tax Rate: 8.75%

    I get to a monthly payment of $464/mo pre-tax, $505/ mo post-tax.

    Does this look like a good deal? Looking at 'True Market Value' on my build has it at $35,220. I am going to try to negotiate it down and push for the base MF of 0.0013 (I assume this is still the going rate?) Also, come in with x7 MSD to get payment (with tax) to 423/mo. Do you all think that is doable?

    Thanks Michaell. Much appreciated! The tax rate out here is 9.5%. The $2500 includes the 1st month's payments, taxes and any other fees (registration, etc.) involved. For some reason the dealer quoted sales tax on the full price instead of just the payments that I am to make.

    I'm paying too much upfront. Any way I can get this down?

    I would absolutely start by getting the dealer to lower the MF; that should save you about $25/mo. MSDs will shave another $30 or so off the payment.

    So, much room to negotiate. 5-7% off sticker is a good deal on a BMW.

    What state? Some states want to collect the entire tax for the lease up front; others tax the payment each month. If the former, you can choose to roll it into the cap cost to lower your initial out of pocket costs, leaving you with the first month's payment, bank fee, tags/license.

    Thanks Michaell for all your tips! Went back and negotiated with the dealer. Now get to total cap cost of $35,500, lowered the MF to the base at 0.0013 and applied 7x MSD to lower the total payment down to $414/mo (pre-tax), $450/mo (post-tax).

    Does that sound like a good deal to you? Anything else I could potentially negotiate down? They gave me a 60% residual value, that seems low right? Also they are charging me a $995 acquisition fee, not sure if I can negotiate that one.

    Thanks for all your help!

    2015 320i has a residual of 62% for 36mo, 15K/yr. They can't alter that. Are you sure it's a 2015 model?

    The base acquisition fee is $795... $995 is with maximum allowed $200 markup.

    Thanks! Is that MF considered "subvented" and are MFs typically negotiable even without MSDs? If not, would multiple MSDs be accepted?

    BMW allows up to 7 MSDs that decrease the MF by .00007 each - the ending MF would be .00080.

    I would not sign a lease with a marked up MF.

    Dealer makes more money when the MF is inflated.

    Hard to say .. the MF doesn't change all that frequently; it's more about the availability of incentives. Which there are some this month.

    Hi again. Could you please give me your opinion on the following 2015 320i xdrive lease in MD (taxes based on cap cost NOT depreciation here)? What do you get for a monthly payment?

    36 mo/10K
    MSRP = $40,150
    Cap cost = $35,095
    MF = 0.00129 (will pay down to 0.0008)
    Residual = 65%
    Tags = $351
    Taxes: $2105.7/36 = $58.50

    I get a monthly payment of $397.57 (339.07 + 58.50) at 0.00129 - but the dealer quoted me $442.95! I get $367.41 (308.9 + 58.50) at 0.00080. I'll pay a $300 dealer fee separately.

    Thank you!!!!

    I suspect your cap cost and their cap cost may not be the same number. Ask the dealer to confirm.

    I don't get any of your numbers..

    Don't break out the monthly tax.. just add the full amount to your CAP cost.

    So, with a CAP cost of $37,200, I get a payment of $359/mo. at .00080 MF and $390/mo. at .00129 MF
    If you are also adding in the $351 for tags, then add another $10/mo.

    Ok, when I include taxes in the cap cost, I get exactly your numbers. I was hoping I didn't have to do that so I could avoid paying interest on taxes - I'm not sure how that works. Do you think the terms are a good deal or should I try to do better? Thank you!

    Ok, when I include taxes in the cap cost, I get exactly your numbers. I was hoping I didn't have to do that so I could avoid paying interest on taxes - I'm not sure how that works. Do you think the terms are a good deal or should I try to do better? Thank you!

    You can avoid interest on the taxes by paying them upfront.. but, I wouldn't do that. It's only $2.70 per month extra in finance charges to roll it into the lease

    Hi again. Could you please give me your opinion on the following 2015 320i xdrive lease in MD (taxes based on cap cost NOT depreciation here)? What do you get for a monthly payment?

    36 mo/10K
    MSRP = $40,150
    Cap cost = $35,095
    MF = 0.00129 (will pay down to 0.0008)
    Residual = 65%
    Tags = $351

    Right, those are the only terms I'll accept for that particular car. Your help is very much appreciated.

    I get $338/mo before tax, so your quote looks spot on.
