Low on Miles But Hitting Fuel Economy Target - 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited Long-Term Road Test
We added 1,054 miles to our 2014 Jeep Cherokee this April, which was enough to push it past 15,000 total miles.

The low number of miles accumulated probably speaks to the nature of the Cherokee. In order to preserve some Jeep capability, the car is much less useful on a daily basis than the competition. I like the Cherokee a lot but you don't have to poke around the car for very long to see that it is a less practical vehicle than the CR-V, CX-5, Forester, etc. The car is selling great. It proves there's something to be said to sticking to a brand's identity and not developing a car for the average buyer. Still, Edmunds editors are probably looking at the cargo or passenger room and passing on the Cherokee for situation where they would gladly have driven a CR-V.
