  That's embarrassing.
  
  I can haul the same sheet of plywood or drywall inside my 09 Kia Sedona with the hatch closed. Yes, I have to leave the middle row seats at home, but I don't need to worry about theft, rain, or adding flags and bungies so my purchase doesn't get ruined.
  And then, I can haul 7 people and tow a trailer later on, and use the roof rack. And it fits inside my old garage.
  I don't haul gravel or scoops of mulch in my van, however, but how often do I need such capability unless I'm a contractor?
  
  The pickup is limited, in my opinion - not just this one, but all of them.

  My Stow 'n Go seats don't have to stay home (I threw away the middle row seats on my last minivan). Toss a tarp in and shovel in the mulch or hay. Plus one for keeping the building materials dry and locked away and not having to tie stuff down (although I frequently do to avoid flying projectiles with smaller stuff)..
  
  You did forget to mention the low lift over height.
