I get $371.92 with your numbers, so a bit less than the dealer quote of $393. They might be inflating the MF on you for a bit of extra profit.

Can you please run the numbers for me assuming top tier credit: 2015 Pathfinder SL AWD w/ tech package, 36 mo. lease, 12k miles, zero down. Cap cost $35,000. plus california tax 8.75%.
The sale price would be $34,100, I'm adding into the cap cost the acquisition fee for the lease.

I pointed out to a dealer that they were inflating their MF even though I have top tier credit. His response? The MF goes up when it's a zero down deal. Does that sound right? the dealer then goes on to say honesty is the best policy.

one more lease question regarding a Nissan Pathfinder. One dealer is giving me both the purchase price and the cap. cost for the same car for 36 mo 12k lease zero down. The spread is $2,472. When I ask them to explain the fees included in that spread I get the "come on down and we'll explain everything - full transparency!" sales pitch. They too are using a MF of .00003 which agrees with your numbers but are using a 50% residual. That's the second dealer here in the Bay Area to use 50% as the residual for a 2015 Pathfinder SL with Tech Package - AWD. You insist the residual is 54% as set forth by Nissan Credit and they insist the residual is 50%. Who's right? The thought of paying $2,472 fee for the lease option is a huge disincentive.

We only have one MF for Nissan; dealer is allowed to mark up the MF for more profit. Perhaps they are couching that mark up as a "zero down" thing.

Depreciation: (36572 - 20540) /36 = $445.33/mo.
Finance: (36572 + 20540) X .00003 = $1.71/mo.
Depreciation + Finance = pre-tax payment $447/mo.

wanted to say I gave up on leasing a Pathfinder and purchased a Highlander. I was drawn to the Pathfinder because it was heavily discounted according to TrueCar pricing and the MF according to the moderator here was decent. But every quote I ever got either failed to meet the purchase price I was seeking and/or jacked up the MF despite having an 800+ credit rating. Some dealers would just say "come on down and we'll work it out" blah blah blah. Because the Pathfinder has reliability issues, leasing made sense to me, but because no one would sharpen their pencil - not even close, I moved on.

39/12 is not a viable term for this model.

.00003 MF and 50%/58% residual for 12K/yr.

I don't think that Nissan offers a 10K/yr option, but if they do, the residual will be 1% higher.

.00003 MF and 48% residual (Platinum) or 49% residual (SL).

Subtract 2% for RWD model.

No guesses on next month.

About to try to work a deal on a 2015 2x4 Platinum...
Am I really looking at a 46% Residual??????

Residual is always calculated off the bottom number of the window sticker (including destination).

So, help me understand please sir...

Depreciation should be (CAP - Residual) / 36 but in the math I quoted the Residual was calculated at 50% of CAP and not 50% of MSRP or the bottom line of the window sticker which is MSRP + Destination and Dealer Add Ons...

right?

Also, can you confirm the Residual percentage on the 2015 4x2 Platinum?(I see RWD and AWD, and maybe RWD is universal for 4x2, but the Pathfinder is FWD)...
