Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, what was your solution?
Hi, I am the owner of a used 2001 Lexus RX 300 with approximately 227,000 miles. Since I have bought my car last year, I have experienced a problem with the VSC light/sensor numerous times. On occasion and more recently as I drive, more often when I am making a slight turn or on a curved road, the VSC light/sensor comes on along with the buzzing sound. I also experience a locking of the brakes as this happens and seems to be very dangerous situation when the brakes lock up considering traffic behind me. This has also happened while driving on the highway (no curves or turns) and I have had to pull off to the shoulder to stop completely until the sensor goes off. The roads have been dry when these incidents occur. I have had this checked at a Lexus dealership and without performing a complete inspection, they advised me that there was debris and metal shavings from my brakes and they used an air hose and brush to get rid of the debris and metal shavings as best they could and I had no problems for a couple of weeks. I would like to note that I have new tires approx. 6 months old (all same size), new alignment after tires installed, new brakes and rotors approx. 2 months old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
