Yes - I always assume $0 cap cost reduction in my calculations.

I can't say thank you enough. I was at the dealership when you replied & I ended up walking out. I had the email of all their quotes and they tried to requote me for $30,289 saying the internet price I was quoted didn't include Eyesight, even though I had all the emails etc (the girl I was dealing with wasn't in). I normally don't fight things and had it not been for doing some research and your numbers I probably would have just been screwed.

I plan on leasing a Forester 2.0 Prem for my daughter in Texas. I am I just had the worst experience with West Houston Subaru. I asked them for the money factor based on tier one and the residual. They REFUSED to give me the residential or money factor.unless I submitted a credit application first. What kind of water is this dealer drinking? I would avoid this dealer!

You don't want to do a 24 month lease; the MF is more than twice as high compared to 36 months (.00264 vs. .00120).

So, using .00120 and 63% for 36/10, along with the MSRP and selling price you've provided, I get a payment of about $282/mo after tax.

Ask the dealer what the net cap cost is; if higher than the selling price, ask them to bridge that number. Might be fees and such being added. Could also reflect a markup in the MF.

The money factor they used are the same that you provided - 24 month term at .00264 and 36 months at .00120. The residual value for the 24 month term they used is $18,999.20 and 36 months is $17,602.20. This puts the Sale Price they used for calculating the residual value at $27940.
