Subaru Outback 4 cylinder burning oil.
My 2013 Subaru outback four-cylinder is burning 2/3 of a quart of oil per 1000 miles. It is not leaking anywhere so I know it is burning the oil. The dealership says I need to replace the engine, I'm just wondering is it bad on anything else in the car if I keep driving it for a little while before replacing it? Any ideas how much longer I could go?
FYI: The power train warranty is void because of rear end damage and a rebuilt title.

What oil are you using? How often do you change it?5 -

I might swith off the synthetics and just use regular oil. If the car is running well otherwise, I would just keep a close watch on it in case it worsens.
You said the ENGINE has 35,000 miles on it/ the car is only two years old so I assume it's the original engine UNLESS the wreck was bad enough to ruin the engine. If so, someone may have installed a used engine with a who lot more miles on it.
Like Mr. S. said, Subarus do have a tendency to use a bit of oil as they age.5 -
