Was given the following offer. Please let me know if it is a good one. Thanks.

2016 Audi A4 Quattro 8-speed Automatic Premium 2.0T with Convenience Plus and Navigation Plus.

    MSRP = $42,690
    Selling Price = $39,230
    Upfront = $865 (first month's payment + money down + DMV fees)
Monthly Payment = $474 (taxes and all other fees - including bank fee - rolled in)

    .00035 MF and 52% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr.

What term/mileage on your quote, and what state/tax rate?
Term/mileage is 36 months / 12k miles per year. State is New York.
    54% residual, then.

Just rolling in the bank fee gets me $491/mo. Not sure how they can get tax into that quote, as well. Some kind of loyalty rebate? Tax would be another $1400 or so, and another $40/mo. on the payment..

    So, yeah... looks good.

    thanks for your response.
I received the numbers from the dealership. Does $399 with $2,800 down seems like a fair deal?
I'm thinking about applying some of the costs towards the monthly payment so I don't have to put as much down.

    Thanks again!

No, 7500 miles per year is the lowest available on the A4.

Lease details attached. Cash due at signing would be $1,600. Salesperson said over phone (after this was printed) that another $1,500 "can be removed" but didn't specify from where or more details.

    Thanks for your help.

If the adjusted CAP cost is that low because of a big discount, that's good. But, if you had to put money down to get there, then maybe not.

Audi uses letters for their credit tiers. Base MF for A tier is .00006, and B tier is .00046. If "tier 2" credit is B tier, then they are still marking up the rate.. Payment $455/mo.+tax?

Correct, comes out to $455/mo + tax with $1,600 cash due at signing.

Where does that $2250 rebate come from?
What is that $600 trade in?
Is a $699 document fee normal for your area?
  • autumnleaves16autumnleaves16 Member Posts: 8
    - Apparently the $2,250 is some sort of Audi incentive? not too sure. Interestingly, someone from page 2 of this thread was offer same cash rebate.
    - $600 was for a possible trade in but now I'm considering selling my car private party to get more.
    - Yep, unfortunately in Florida it's $699 doc fee. Tried no negotiate down but no luck.

Hi, What is the current MF and Residual for a 2016 Audi A4 Premium Plus 2.0T 36/12, 39/12, and 42/12? This would be in Atlanta, GA and is for Front Wheel Drive (Not Quattro).

Trying to understand if I have a good deal going for the following:

    $0 down
    MSRP/Sales Price - $41,915
    Discount - $6,824.84
    GATAVT (Tax) - $2,260
Tag and Title Fees - $139
    Doc Fee - $599
    Rebate - $3,500
    Balance Forward - $34,588.26

    $0 down
    36 Months - $451
    39 Months - $442
    42 Months - $430

    $1000 down
    36 Months - $421
    39 Months - $414
    42 Months - $405

Also, any idea which option makes most sense? Fairly new to leasing...

    Thanks!

    36/12 - .00006 and 50%
    39/12 - .00026 and 48%
    42/12 - .00026 and 46%

Using your numbers, I get $382/mo for 36 months, $385/mo for 39 months and $378/mo for 42 months.

So, I'd check with the dealer about the "Balance Forward" amount - they might be using a different (read: higher) number to base their lease calcs on. Or, they are marking up the MF on you.

We do not recommend making a down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money. Recognize that "down payment" is not the same as "money due at signing", which could be used for the bank fee, dealer fee, first payment, etc.

I'm curious where the MF figures that you list above come from as they seem lower than what I calculated from the deal? Should I share those rates with dealer tomorrow when I go back?  Wondering if they are using some other lease balance amount versus the balance forward amount as you note.  Just want to make sure I ask the right questions here. Thx!
  • jream15jream15 Member Posts: 5
They are paying the remaining 3 or 4 payments from my previously leased 2013 A4 as part of this deal too.  So maybe they are somehow including that in here too.

The numbers I quote are confidential. But, the dealer knows what the base rate is.

Yes, ask them what the "net cap cost" is - if different than the selling price they've given you, find out what else has been added.

And those extra payments could easily be rolled into the new deal, thus jacking up the payment.

Why not wait until your current lease is up?

I'm almost at my miles (34,500) and they are running a fairly aggressive Audi season deal.  Unless I'm naive and they always have this sale. That's why I thought it was advantageous to pull trigger now.
  • jream15jream15 Member Posts: 5
When you say the numbers you quote above are confidential, are those simply a guideline to what consumers should look to pay in terms of MF?  I'll get the net cap cost and compare that and see if it's inflated from their balance forward figure.  Sorry for so many questions.

No, not a guideline .. the numbers I quote are the "buy" rates for top tier credit and should be what you have the dealer use when writing up your deal.

Do Audi's residuals seem lower than other luxury cars? The dealer said their residuals are more realistic and not inflated. Also said that's why Audi lessees can get out of a 3 year lease in 2 years without penalty. Any truth to that?

Yes, Audi does not tend to 'inflate' their residuals to get an artificially low lease payment.

Can't speak to the early termination aspect of this, however.

I'm new to the leasing world. We went to the dealer today and looked at a 2016 A4 Premium Plus Quattro with Technology Package. They are pushing 7,500 since we mentioned I do not drive far daily but we are concerned we may need more like 10k.

This was our initial quote for 7,500 miles - total purchase w/tax and fees: $40,326

    36 Months: $550 down $538; $1k down $525; $2k down $495

    39 Months: $550 down $525; $1k down $512; $2k down $485

We would appreciate some guidance! It seems like the money down is simply paying up front for lower monthly payments. Not the best deal. Plus all seem high for 7,500 mileage.

    Thank you

Don't negotiate the monthly payment ... find out the MSRP and negotiate the lowest selling price you can.

As noted, do not put money down on a lease. However, there will be some up front costs you will be expected to cover - bank fee, dealer fee, first payment, tags/license costs.

Lease numbers are .00035 and 53% for 36/10.

Wondering if this is a decent lease offer:

    2016 A4 Prem Plus Quattro

    MSRP $40,640
With "discounts and incentives" the cap cost becomes $34,390
    MF offered is .00056
    RV is .52
36 month lease, 12K miles per year with $2500 down is $399 per month
36 month lease, 12K miles per year with $4000 down is $355 per month

I, of course, would not put money down...but sharing exactly what dealer just offered.

Good deal...or no? What should my payment be with no money down?
  • luckygirl2008luckygirl2008 Member Posts: 9

    2016 A4 Premium FWD:

    .00006 MF and 52% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr.

They are marking up the money factor from the base amount.

I wonder if some CAP cost reduction from the $2500 down is in play to get the CAP cost to $34,390? Appears to be, because with that MSRP and CAP, the payment is exactly $399/mo.(+tax).

Using the base MF would save about $28/mo. off that payment.
