We added 4,307 miles to our 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk in November, but even a massive road trip that set new best-tank and best-range marks didn't move the needle much.

    Not to be harsh, but that's probably how most people will use the Renegade. It's not like a Wrangler or the old school Cherokee. It's a city dweller that's okay for light off-roading for when people decide to drink their Starbucks down by the lake. It's a little better than a poser's ride, but not a rough and tumble 4x4.
  • Hire a sorority girl or two - problem solved.
  • I think getting it on a trail is more important than improving the fuel economy with highway trips. Take it to Saddleback, Tahoe, Anza-Borrego -- it's not like you need to need to use it as your Vegas cruiser or something.
  • Anza-Borrego would be a great weekend trip with a vehicle like this. There are plenty of mild dirt roads to prove out the Jeep's basics and raise the driver's confidence. Then try a few of the tougher trails.
