The .00132 MF is the base rate.

Which engine is this? RWD or AWD? Residuals vary.

    What is the MSRP?

56% for 36/10; $1500 option allowance and $3000 lease credit.

With the incentives, that isn't much of a discount from sticker.

I get $781/mo + tax with those prices.

    .00132 MF and 57% residual.

MF markup is adding about $20/mo. to your payment

I think there may be more of a discount available from sticker; read back through the last couple of pages of this discussion to see what others have been able to negotiate.

    We don't track selling prices.

    Hi,

I am working with a dealer and my trade in could be used as a one pay lease? Are there any negative scenarios for a one pay lease?

    TIA

Looking at a 2016 X5 50i here's what has been offered after some shopping:
    MSRP: $81,595
    Selling price: $71,500
    36/10
    Total out of pocket: $2,500
Payment $841 pre tax, $901 after CA tax

Does this workout with your residual and MF #'s?

All communication has been done via email and I have not seen the actual figure sheet.

    Thank you

    58% and .00132 for January.

Using your prices, I get a payment of $828/mo + tax, so pretty close to your quote. Find out the net cap cost and what the $2500 due at signing covers.

Looking for advice on this X5 lease in WA state.

    2016 35ix MSRP $70,320

Selling price $64,500 which includes $1,500 lease option credit.
Discount on car before option credit seems to be ~6%
Lease terms are 36mo, 12k/yr $2,500 total drive off. (told that it is a MF of .00132)
Payment is $895/mo (incl. 9.8% sales tax)

Asked about the extra $1,500 winter adder credit, but was told this car does not qualify for that since it is still in transit (not dealer stock) - is that true?

Are there any other current lease credits or dealer cash programs going on at the moment?

I'm trying to figure out how the current incentives work.

It appears there are about $3000 (2 X 1500) in credits for current X5 owners looking to purchase a new X5.

How are these credits applied when leasing?

For instance I negotiated ____ selling price for the vehicle. Do they take the credits off the price as an additional discount?

I'm sorry for asking but it's the first time I've dealt with incentives on a lease negotiation. I've asked the dealer twice but they keep giving me a straight sales price and not showing an incentives applied.

    Thank you in advance.

Any price they give you will already include the incentive. On the actual lease paperwork, it will be listed as a CAP cost reduction, though, and will be taxed.

The calculation and variables are correct. $3000 in incentives on this model. You have about 5% off MSRP, before deducting the incentive. You may have another $1000-$1500 to play with.. (maybe not).

    Here is my latest quote:

    Location: NJ

    X5 with xline + premium + lighting + cold weather + 3rd row
    36 months, 10k miles, 0 down

    MSRP: 69170
    Selling Price: 60284
    Lease Payment: 692.68
    Due at signing: 4641.35
    MF: 0.0013
    Residual: 58%

Discount is at 13% or 8.5% before the incentives. There is another dealer that told me they will beat any offer I get. So I will contact them again on Monday. I might be too aggressive, but I want another 1000 off.

Every $1000 you negotiate from the selling price reduces your pre-tax lease payment about $28/mo.

@Michaell thanks Michael! What do you think my chances are of getting more discount? Is 8.5% dealer discount near the max discount possible out there?

The sales person said this price was very close to their invoice, but I can never know what the truth is and I do want the dealer to make some money.

Yes, base MF is .00132, so 7 MSDs would take it down to .00083. Dealer has marked up MF for extra profit.

Might be time to reach out to another dealer. End of the month may make them a bit more competitive.

    Hello all - Michigan here,

    Considering a 2016 x5 50i new build

    MSRP $84,995
    Selling price $82,495

I am assuming that I should be able to purchase for 91% to 93% of MSRP so more work needs to be done right off the bat

    Doc fee $210
    Acquisition $925

    Gross Cap Cost $83,420

    Rebates $2,000
    Net Cap Cost $81,420

    Residual 55%
    3yr/30,000 miles
I thought this was pretty good as I am hearing residuals of 55% with 3yr/15K miles
    Mileage program = 15,000
    annual planned miles = 30,000
Not sure how these last two items relate to each other and when I questioned the mileage and MF the dealer said: "I talked to my manager and he said you were offered BMW Sales Support Money Factor which is 4 basis points lower than what we are allowed to charge, as well as the Value price discount on the vehicle. If you don't need the 30,000mi a year he is more than happy to rework the numbers for you on something more suitable."
So should a 3yr/12K miles residual be 53% (57% - 4%) based on the "BMW Sales Support Money Factor"?

    MF .00175
    should try for .00132?

    advance payment of $1,506.97
    upfront charges $391.04
    initial payment $3,898.01
    Due on Delivery $1,898,01

    Base monthly payment $1,421.67
    monthly tax $85.30
    Payment $1,506.97

Sorry if I provided too much info, not really sure what you need to evaluate the deals.
How much am I being raked over the coals?

Base MF is .00135 this month; 36/15 residual is 55% for X5 xDrive50i.

Extra miles are charged at .15-.25 per mile, deducted from the calculated residual. If you need an extra 45,000 miles in the lease, that will cost about $9000 (at .20/mile), or $250/mo alone.

Yes, get more of a discount from sticker and work to get the base MF.

The extra miles will hurt, regardless.

Something to keep in mind is that BMW allows you to purchase additional miles 6 or 3 months before the lease ends (can't remember exactly when it is). As I recall the miles cost a bit more purchasing them at the beginning of the lease but still cheaper then paying at the end of the lease.

I like you needed additional miles but only pre-purchase a small amount at the beginning and then more at the end so I wouldn't over purchase miles. In the end I ended up saving because I didn't need 20k miles a year it turned out.

I would keep working the dealer for a lower cap cost and also try emailing dealerships further away ffor a better deal. My last lease I saved $40 a month getting it from a dealership that was over 100 miles away (worth a Sunday drive to me).

    Thank you for your responses.
I am not sure why the dealer assumed I wanted a 30,000 mile lease as I didn't ask for nor do I need that many miles. 15,000 is sufficient. The thing I am trying to wrap my head around is they are offering me the 15K mile residual (55%) on a 30K mile lease; does that mean they would offer me higher than 55% on the 15k lease? All questions that I can ask of them if I decide to move forward. Also looking at a MB GL 550.

Is it 30,000 total miles, that is, 10,000 miles per year for 3 years? There may have been a miscommunication with the dealer on that point.

    Quote from the dealer:

"The average is usually 10,000-15,000yr but yours was for 30,000yr so a total of 90,000mi for the whole lease that's why the cost is higher."

Can you please provide me the MF and residual % on a 2016 BMW X5, for both the s35 and x35. 10k miles/year for 36 months.

    Thanks!!

Not getting anywhere negotiating with my local dealership. They still insist that their high mf is set by BMW and they cannot do anything about it plus they are only willing to come down 3% from MSRP. So my question is twofold:

    1) Anyone know of a dealer willing to give a good deal in Michigan or a state nearby?
    2) I have always frequented two local dealerships for Chevy and Jeep and have great relationships with them (just looking for a more exciting vehicle that can fit 4 adults). How do the dealers feel about servicing cars purchased at other dealerships? The one that is giving me the run around on price is certainly the most convenient BMW dealership for service.

    Thank you,

    1. Can't help you with dealership recommendations, but there is a section of the Edmunds site dedicated to dealer reviews: http://www.edmunds.com/dealer-reviews/
    2. Are you asking if your Chevy or Jeep dealer will be willing to work on your BMW? I doubt that would happen - the dealer techs are trained specifically for those brands, and may not be the best source of service for an X5

I'm within a couple bucks of that calculation. Only way to improve on it is to negotiate a better selling price or use MSD to buy down the MF.

Thanks you for your prompt response Michaell. Unfortunately no MSD's in NY.
I'm happy with the #'s gonna order this week. Salesperson also stated I can lock in the 2000 lease credit because the vehicle will be a factory order.

Michaell just spoke with my dealer. He says their is an acquisition fee of $925 for BMW vehicles. So the monthly goes up from $707 to $734 a month for 36 month lease And with total of $820 due at signing (first month, dmv). Is that acquisition fee standard and always included or can it be waived. I did not include it in my lease calculations at $707
Thanks in advance for your help

Acquisition fee is imposed by the bank and is not negotiable. You have the choice of paying it up front or adding it to the cap cost.

I have the following offer on the table.
I would appreciate your opinion as to whether this is a fair or strong deal.
    2016 x35i MSRP $67,470.
    Negotiated total purchase $60,723.
    Tax 1821.59
    Balance is $62,611.59.
North Carolina doesn't have a sales tax but is has a Highway use tax and then Each year I will pay Porperty tax on this vehicle.  I am using my current vehicle for the down payment which comes in at:
    $5000 down (trade in)
36 months/12,000 miles per year (doubtful I will go over 10,000)
    $659.77/ month

    or
    30 months/12,000 miles
    $691.76

This is all of the information I currently have.

    thank you for your help!

Don't use it as a down payment you should apply it to multi security deposits instead.
