Hey kyfdx, Would you happen to know what the MF/residual is for a 2yr/12k GT AWD is? I'm located in Seattle if that makes a difference. If there's a sweet spot, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

.00005 MF and 61% residual for 30/12
.00012 MF and 59% residual for 33/12

Either of those would result in a much lower payment

I confirm the .00001 MF and 58% residual for 36/10.

Using your MSRP and net cap cost, I get the exact same payment, to the penny.

Only way to make this deal better is to negotiate a better selling price.

I just want to make sure I understand. That MF number is in line with others quoted here. But to get a APR percent I take it and multiply by 2400 if I understand correctly. That give me .0024? Less than a quarter of one percent? I must have something wrong in my head here -- help me out!! Thanks soooo much. I just want to have a good understanding of the lease process when I walk in to make my best deal.

The math is correct - that works out to .24% APR. almost free money.

Sorry - not sure how we missed this request.

I'll assume AWD as you are in NJ.

The best numbers are for 33/12 (.00005 and 57%) or 36/12 (.00005 and 56%)

Looking at leasing a 2016 CX-3 touring AWD with package. We live in IL. Chicago suburb not Chicago. Looking for MF/Residual and invoice pricing. 36/10 most likely. Dealer offered this so far:
Market Value $25,555
Dealer disc. 1,684
vehicle price. $23,871
We are ready to put down $3k. They came back with $2541 down and payment of $282.68 or $3,541 down and $253.68 /more. They used MF of .00055 x 2400 =1.32. Thoughts? Thanks!

57% and .00005, so dealer is marking up the MF the max allowed.

Using your prices, and the base MF, I get $260/mo before tax. This assumes $0 down.

We do not recommend a down payment on a lease - that money is lost if the vehicle is stolen or totaled.

Ask for the adjusted cap cost - this is the selling price plus any taxes and fees you are not paying up front.

So you used .00005 and they used .00055. Why is that? Do we negotiate MF? Ugh. This dealership drives me crazy but the next closest Mazda dealership is about an hour's drive away. I may need to take a drive!

Also, .00055 is maximum MF allowed? I've seen discussions where they are using a .00275. Now I'm more confused.

Mazda dealers are allowed to mark up the MF by .00050, which is what your dealer has done. Tell them - politely but firmly - that you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF. They know what the base rate is.

Other reasons why the MF could be higher:

1. Credit score. We give the numbers for top tier credit, but there is a mark up if the score is lower
2. 3rd party banks have different numbers; we only have those for Mazda Capital Services

We are tier 1 credit score! sounds like we are getting yanked around. I beleive they are using Chase Bank not Mazda Capital. What is the base rate right now? Looks like I may drive the hour and check out the other dealership with better reputation and knowing that rate going in would be helpful. plus, Memorial Day specials may help even though they don't always apply to leasing. All the info you've provided is so helpful. Thanks!

Hello,

Could you provide current lease factors and residuals for a Mazda CX-3 Touring and Grand Touring, both fwd and AWD? Looking at both 10,000 and 12,000 miles. This would be for either a July or August lease in Massachusetts.

Sorry for all of the option requests --- trying to help my parents narrow things down and figure out the tradeoffs (they did 33,000 miles on their last 3 year lease so are right in the middle for mileage)
