Thank you Ryan! So i ended up buying a 2016 EXL from my local dealer in southwest virginia, the deal was 26,000 OTD without College Grad Rebate, 25,500 OTD with college grad rebate. The Msrp was just slightly north of 30k since they had put in, mud guards, all weather mats etc on the cary already, could have done slightly better in Northern Va but thought it was a fair deal overall

Hi, I am in the market for an Accord LX, whats the price I should target in Dallas region ? Currently have the best quote of 21650$ OTD.
  • samkasamka Member Posts: 9
Prantutj do you have a breakdown of price?
This seems to be a good deal given that Texas has high sales tax
  • denvermdenverm Member Posts: 358
Yeah, I don't understand why so many people give "OTD" prices. Since taxes and licensing may vary a lot from one locale to another, an Out The Door price doesn't really tell others anything about what price they ought to aim for. Why not give the amount that the dealer is receiving, i.e., car price plus any dealer handing fee, but NOT including taxes or licensing?

Brain125 and others who might know about the Takata Airbag Recall Trade Assistance offered by Honda. I was reading online about the massive Airbag recall and the Depreciation Assistance for dealers and the Trade in Assistance for Dealers to offer buyers of new hondas if they trade in their recalled vehicle. If anyone has done this would you mine sharing how much that is? Thanks for all the advice on this form it is a great wealth of knowledge.

The total dealer cost is $25,246 minus the $1,000 cash back which makes it $24,246. The dealer gets an additional hold back so this probably puts them at a $1,000 loser I would ask for an additional $500 less.

I only know what I've been reading online about the airbag situation . Does sound like a problem for those looking to sell / trade there affected models. Some folks claim they have been waiting almost a year for parts.

I own a 2011 Crv and I received a letter regarding the airbag recall. It says the airbag parts will be available this summer and untill then, owners can communication with their dealers for alternative transportation. I don't see anything in trade in assistance.

I bought it at West Broad Honda. Colonial Honda was also very aggressive on price from the beginning - no games. I would recommend both dealerships.

thanks michael, for the info. question about retail sales incentives for the LX model - is there such a thing? not much posted data on current sales prices. Usually it's the lease cash that's hard to find but not with Honda. Since the Accord holds value well, sometimes it's better to buy and trade after 3 years rather than lease IMO...

The $1000 cash is good for purchases as well. Bonus cash is only good for leases.
Thanks for the tips on the wheels, guys.

What is the $1000 cash you mentioned above? I looked up current incentives but didn't find anything.
It's a factory to dealer incentive that isn't published. Use the knowledge to negotiate your best deal.
Is this $1000 cash going on next month too?

Hello, i am newbie. I am trying to buy 2016 Accord LX or Sport. one of the local dealer here in Plano, TX is offering 2016 accord lx "starting at $18995" on Black Friday, What out the door price i can quote? and what is the best price for Accord 16 Sport? Thanks

MD dealer offered $19000 sale price including freight for 2016 Accord LX CVT.  Out the door with processing, MD govt. fees and tax is $20,734. Dealer only offered that price at the last minute because I told him we were at a competing dealer about to sign on the dotted line for $500 more.

Do you have the break down of this? My offer is a couple hundreds higher.

You can answer you own question here by sending out 15 / 20 emails to dealers letting each one know you buy today for X- price. Otherwise your waiting till the end of the month to buy. Every month the pricing market may change due to supply and demand, dealer incentives / rebates, time of the month.

Buying @2692 below invoice is a excellent deal that most dealers wont match. You may be able to save a few more dollars buying the last 2 days, last day of this month.

If you could get this deal again you have done really well better than most buyers have posted in this forum.

If this helps anyone. Just purchased a 2016 Honda Accord Sport $21,750 (white)before TT&L. Out the door price with taxes and everything with no money down was 23,476. Tinted windows, wheel locks, etching, door guards, mud guards/black, cargo mat and a couple more items were on the car included in price. This was at Rusty Wallis Honda in Dallas. I shopped approximately 5 dealers in a 3 hour window over phone and kept firm on what I wanted to pay and eventually got to where I was happy. Very good experience at this dealership, hope this helps.

That's sharp looking. Splash guards, pin stripe, tinted windows, deck lid. All this vehicle needs is the V-6 engine . I had a Grey 2013 EXL V-6. I had mine for a year before giving to my daughter up in Boston. Nice ride but to small for me .

That's funny I was thinking the same thing today. if it had a v6 that would be hard to top at 21k, still is. I came from a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee altitude and was just tired of all the issues and wanted reliability without giving up some style. I really am happy with it and it's just taking some used to riding lower. The other two things i miss is a push start and sirius xm satellite radio for football season. These are very nice though and feel more expensive than they are.

Congratulations on the new car! Looks beautiful in white. I'm planning to get mine towards the end of this month. Just a quick question, did you contact the dealership itself or sales managers?
  • slaboi21slaboi21 Member Posts: 10
Thank you, yes I like the white with dark wheels. I looked up each dealer and found the staff on their website and contacted each sales GM. If I found a dealer that didn't list that information then I went to the next one. It's usually under meet the staff or something similar. I knew pretty quickly which GM's were willing to deal and be more flexible, I felt the most comfortable with the one I bought from and probably would have still did business if he was a couple hundred more so I wouldn't have as much hassle. It was a really good experience once I got the phone negotiations out of the way, no bait and switch or pressure sales tactics once I got there. Very smooth.
