$49K for a 4 cylinder?! What a deal! And that is before you throw in a few options, then you have a $60k SUV with a 4 cylinder! I personally just bought a 2016 Kia Sorento with a V6, three rows, leather, and all that good stuff for $32K. Is this Porsche really worth almost two of the KIA's? For that much money you could get the KIA, then buy a Subie BR-Z, and have enough left over to add a few mods and pay for track days for a year. Just saying.

If you crave the cachet of Porsche SUV, you'll be able to get a little less of it for a little less. Still, compared to a measly Subaru Forester XT, Macan's burning more gas for a little better performance. What isn't known is if Porsche fixed the Macan's at-limits handling which tends toward wheel lockup (Swedish testers, Top Gear, CU and others discovered that glitch). Bring $3200 or so extra if you want Macan in red.

Porsche prices for exclusivity. You can get 90% of the performance for up to 40% of the price. The way they charge for options, and get away with it, is envied by the Auto industry. Luxury and Snobbery are often confused. I wager that most buyers do not buy this for the luxury nor to explore the limits of performance.
