Just be very careful and know what you're doing with dealing with them.

Hello Michaell, the Mazda website shows a lease special for the Mazda 6 Sport as follows:

3 year 36K miles Mazda 6 Sport

$189/mo + tax with $1995 due at signing. MSRP $22995 plus $835 destination with $1365 customer lease support. The cap cost listed is $20135, so I calculate a sale price of $20665. ($20665 minus $1365 incentive plus $835 acquisition = cap cost $20135); the site states that the residual value is $13345, which is 58%. I am not sure how much of the $1995 due at signing is due to 1st payment, registration, etc. but plugging the above #s into the lease calculator with no down payment other than the $1365 lease support, and using a money factor of 0.00001 brings it to the advertised $189/mo plus tax.

This is different that what I am seeing at Edmunds.com. What am I missing?

The $2000 equates to about $56/mo; we don't recommend making a down payment on a lease payment - the money is lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

There is also, I assume, a dealer "contribution" in this ad (AKA discount from sticker).

You can do better negotiating your own selling price.

Can't tell you why your calcs are different than those on the website - perhaps their calculator is making assumptions we know nothing about?

Lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive .. dealer can choose to pass it along to the customer.

Use the knowledge to make your best deal, price-wise.

Whichever one it is, what's the other number?

The CAP cost is what's left to finance, after adding in acquisition fees, etc, and then deducting downpayment.

I get $236/mo.+tax, so pretty close to your quote.
