More Comfortable on the Highway Than the Old Tacoma, But Still Not Great - 2016 Toyota Tacoma Long-Term Road Test
While the 2016 Toyota Tacoma isn't a vehicle that can endlessly pile up highway miles, it's noticeably more comfortable than the previous-generation model.

They're only more expensive if the half ton you're comparing to is company-money press trim with power leather everything, and furthermore you're pretending that you can compare stickers when Ford or Ram has $10,000 on the hood while Tacomas sell for invoice plus. You can buy decently equipped extended cab half tons well under $35,000 all day long. It's exactly fair to compare that to a $35,000 Tacoma.
And when you do the Tacoma loses at almost everything.
My strategy for new car shopping is simple: write down a checklist with bullets on what I think are the quality features it should have, then start checking the boxes. That way I'm not blinded by toys. I vow to never suffer Buyer's Remorse again.
