    I'm not a fan of the regular 500's engine and transmission

    That's why they make the Abarth!

    But I can vouch for the 500e being a good deal for an urban commuter. Last year my local dealer was offering them for insanely low terms...it literally would have cost my wife more to park the thing at work downtown than to lease it (which is one reason why we ultimately passed).

    10-12 miles a day? So... 5-6 miles each way? Certainly there has to be a cheaper method to achieve that distance. Segway? Electric Bike? Scooter? Heck, you could almost do Uber everyday.

    I just leased one for 99 bucks a month, 0 down, it's a brilliant little electric car, way more fun to drive than an i3! :)
