Hi. Is it a good idea to tell the dealer you will pay this upfront?

Why lie to them? The more transparent you are, the more transparent you expect them to be.

If not, walk and find another dealer. Only takes one to make a deal on your terms.
They accepted my offer via email. What should I ask for as far as paperwork? I am in Miami and the car is in Naples. Should I ask for the car to be delivered to me?
2-3 hour drive? I'd go pick it up.
Do you think its too late to negotiate maintenance included? Also, is gap coverage under my insurance policy or with the dealer?
GAP is included with the lease from MBFS.

Can't hurt to ask about maintenance...

What is the current RV and MF for a 2016 GLC 300. I am being quoted a RV of 58% and MF of .00165. Also what is the average acquisition fee in Texas? They are quoting me $1095.

.00131 MF and 58% residual if the term/mileage is 36/12.

Base acquisition fee is $795. Dealers are permitted to mark up the fee by $300 for extra profit.

Hi looking for MF and residual for 36/10 GLC 300 in los angeles. Also what is the reduction with MB with MSD and how many can you do (sorry new to MB leases)? TIA!
  • go2uclago2ucla Member Posts: 34
To: cbarba80. I am in SoCal as well. In general, I believe you can have up to 10 MSDs each being worth .0007 as a reduction in your MF. However, I believe MBFS has a floor on how much one can reduce their MF. I just reserved a 2016 GLC 300 RWD and put 8 MSDs to reduce the MF to .00065 as it made the most sense; this included an auto pay discount of .00001. I will pick up my car on 7/31. I believe I got a great deal. Buy rate MF, 8 MSDs, no mark-up on the acquisition fee and a great discout of MSRP. For a $48.5k GLC I will be paying $499 plus tax; my out the door will be the 8 MSDs, DMV fees, Doc/Misc fees, Aq Fee and 1st payment which total about $2k. Hope this helps with your negotiations.
  • go2uclago2ucla Member Posts: 34
To: cbarba80. The total with the 8 MSDs will be about $6400. $2k plus 8 MSD $4.4k. Sorry, I hope that was not misleading.

I am looking for 15k mileage . Which lease terms gives me the best RV and MF based on published numbers for a GLC300 rear wheel drive in NY and TX . I am in NY right now but moving to TX in a month so that's another question whether I will get a better pricing in TX or NY ( not clear on it ) .

Can't help you with pricing, but I would recommend leasing in NY as in TX, sales tax is computed against the entire selling price of the car.

In NY, sales tax is only calculated against the sum of the payments.

What is the adjusted cap cost?

What does the $1500 at signing cover?

What state and tax rate is this?

    RWD or 4Matic?

As you can see, not quite enough information to qualify the deal. :sunglasses:

Hello, what is the MF & residual for 2016 GLC in nevada? got a quote for a 2016 GLC, but payment appears to be high and dealer claims they don't do MSD? Does nevada not participate in MSD? Curious if this is a decent deal? MSRP $43345, Sale price $39011, acquisition $1095, residual $25573.55, 10k per year, pmt of $550.94 ($509.42 + tax $41.52). Drive off is $1223.68 (tax $48.49 + Title $29.25 + doc fee $595).

    .00131 MF and 59% residual for 36/10, assuming 2WD.

    Adding in your acq.fee, I get $489/mo.+tax.
Acquisition fee is marked up from $795 base amount.
Guessing that the money factor might be marked up, as well. accounting for the $20/mo. difference.
    That's a big doc fee.

MSDs? Don't think Nevada would be an issue.

The doc fee is whatever the dealer can get away with, in states that don't regulate it.

Also interested in the September MF and residual for 2016 GLC RWD and 4MATIC for 36 months/10k (in CA).

A question to the moderators: I've seen people post their offers here and the moderators will say, "Acquisition fee is inflated" or "MF is marked up", etc. What do you recommend we do with that information? Do you actually negotiate the fees or do you negotiate a lower selling price to make up for the marked up fees?

Also, do you recommend negotiating monthly payments or the selling price when it comes to leasing?

Thanks so much! Newbie over here :)

You politely tell the dealer that you won't sign a deal where the acquisition fee or MF is marked up. Then contact other dealers - only takes one to meet your numbers.

With your prices, I get $564/mo with 8% tax added in.

Can you tell me what the adjusted cap cost is? It might be higher than the selling price.

Acquisition fee is marked up from the base of $795, so I'm concerned that the MF was marked up, too, before applying the discount for the multiple security deposits.

    **Re-post**
Hello everyone. I sent a few private messages to Michael but then I figured that it's better to post a message here so everyone can see and refer. It's a long post so...sorry in advance. And Michael, it will be great if you can put your feedback here. Sorry for the other messages on your board.

I closed a lease deal for a Mercedes Benz 2016 GLC300 and here are the numbers and detailst:

Car: 2016 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 RWD
State: Southern California (dealership: Fletcher Jones Motorcars, Irvine, California)
Features: Standard features plus Blind Spot Assist, Panorama Sunroof, Heated Front Seats and Premium Package 01.
Total Retail Price on the sticker: $43,505 (Suggested Retail Price for Standard car: $38,950).

    Gross capitalized cost: $42,165.71
    Capitalized cost reduction: None
    Adjusted capitalized cost: $42,165.71
(The itemization of Gross capitalized cost is: Agreed upon value: $41,315.71. Plus Maintenance agreement $850 = $42,165.71)

    Residual value: $26,110.45
    Depreciation: $16,055.26
    Rent charge: $2,359.82
Total of base monthly payment: $18,415.08

Lease term: 36 months and 10,000 miles per year.
    Base monthly payment: $511.53
    Sales tax: $40.92
    Total monthly payment: $552.45

Regarding the total amount due at signing, here are the details:
    1st month payment: $552.45
    Acquisition: $995
    Sales taxes: $86
    Security Deposit: $2,750
    Registration fee: $101
    License fee: $268
    Document processing fee: $80
    Electronic filing fee: $29
    California tire fee: $7
    Total: $4,868.45

Michael already commented that the acquisition was marked up. And perhaps the MF was marked up as well. But overall, I think it was a good deal. Not great, but not a rip off either. Do you agree?

One interesting thing is that one day after I took my car home, I got a call from Financial Dept. They miscalculated the Security Deposit and I have to pay another $250. This is because at the last moment I added the prepaid maintenance service and apparently the guy forgot to add it to the whole equation.
I'm planning to call them and tell them to consider the short $250 as an additional discount on the MSRP since they marked up the Acquisition fee. But I'm not sure if this appropriate. Any thoughts?
They say they need to do a new contract with this addition, but if this is the case I just want to cancel the whole thing. Perhaps I'm over-reacting but I just don't like the idea of going back and put more money because they made a mistake. The contract is already signed so they should just forget about it... no?

Hope this is helpful for somebody else.

    Thanks!

Hello everyone. I sent a few private messages to Michael but then I figured that it's better to post a message here so everyone can see and refer. It's a long post so...sorry in advance. And Michael, it will be great if you can put your feedback here. Sorry for the other messages on your board.

I closed a lease deal for a Mercedes Benz 2016 GLC300 and here are the numbers and detailst:

Car: 2016 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 RWD
State: Southern California (dealership: Fletcher Jones Motorcars, Irvine, California)
Features: Standard features plus Blind Spot Assist, Panorama Sunroof, Heated Front Seats and Premium Package 01.
Total Retail Price on the sticker: $43,505 (Suggested Retail Price for Standard car: $38,950).

    Gross capitalized cost: $42,165.71
    Capitalized cost reduction: None
    Adjusted capitalized cost: $42,165.71
(The itemization of Gross capitalized cost is: Agreed upon value: $41,315.71. Plus Maintenance agreement $850 = $42,165.71)

    Residual value: $26,110.45
    Depreciation: $16,055.26
    Rent charge: $2,359.82
Total of base monthly payment: $18,415.08

Lease term: 36 months and 10,000 miles per year.
    Base monthly payment: $511.53
    Sales tax: $40.92
    Total monthly payment: $552.45

Regarding the total amount due at signing, here are the details:
    1st month payment: $552.45
    Acquisition: $995
    Sales taxes: $86
    Security Deposit: $2,750
    Registration fee: $101
    License fee: $268
    Document processing fee: $80
    Electronic filing fee: $29
    California tire fee: $7
    Total: $4,868.45

Michael already commented that the acquisition was marked up. And perhaps the MF was marked up as well. But overall, I think it was a good deal. Not great, but not a rip off either. Do you agree?

One interesting thing is that one day after I took my car home, I got a call from Financial Dept. They miscalculated the Security Deposit and I have to pay another $250. This is because at the last moment I added the prepaid maintenance service and apparently the guy forgot to add it to the whole equation.
I'm planning to call them and tell them to consider the short $250 as an additional discount on the MSRP since they marked up the Acquisition fee. But I'm not sure if this appropriate. Any thoughts?

Thanks Michael! Good to know that I got a good deal.
And regarding the extra $250 they are asking, it's valid to ask them to just absorb it themselves, right? Do you think if I bring the Acquisition fee mark up they will agree? I saw on the internet that people usually don't touch the Acquisition fee since it's one of those flat fees that each dealer has. You can negotiate the MSRP and MF but not the Acquisition fee.
I just don't want to go back and pay another $250...

Be polite when you talk to them. You'll likely have to sign a new contract, but work with them to adjust the numbers so the out of pocket amount doesn't change, nor does the payment.

Yeah, a new contract is needed since I'm guessing that MBFS kicked the original one back due to the error.

Yeah, a new contract is needed since I'm guessing that MBFS kicked the original one back due to the error.
Can I then return the car and cancel everything? This is different from the cooling period where they will never cancel a transaction. In my case the contract might be already void so I can just return the car and have my money reimbursed, no?
Because I got another offer from another dealer: same car but with sport package and my final price will be $39,488 which I think it's even better.

    Thanks!

It looks like a solid deal.

Congrats, and enjoy the new MB!

And, thank you for sharing your deal details with the boards.
I see... so no matter what I need a new contract... ok. Thanks for your feedback!!
I believe that is an option available to you, yes. Or, you can use the other offer as leverage with your current dealer to get a better deal on the car you have.

Total Retail Price on the sticker: $43,505 (Suggested Retail Price for Standard car: $38,950).

    Gross capitalized cost: $42,165.71
    Capitalized cost reduction: None
    Adjusted capitalized cost: $42,165.71
(The itemization of Gross capitalized cost is: Agreed upon value: $41,315.71. Plus Maintenance agreement $850 = $42,165.71)

    Security Deposit: $2,750
