I'd like to see how the 2017's compare to the 2016's for a 36 month/10k lease. I think you said previously that 2016's are 60% residual/.00137 MF right now.

    36 months, 10k miles...

any incentives on these models? I know the 2016s had the 2,000 incentive..

Also, side question can you please explain to me which incentives are taxed and which are not?

Kyfdx just helped me get great deal on 2016 x5d. Don't wait for any 2017 bmw. Hey are dropping brakes discs and brake pads and wipers for maintenance. Also dropping warranty to 3 year 36. Residuals are 3 percent better on 2016 too

No incentives. Generally, any customer incentive is applied as a CAP cost reduction, and taxed. Hidden dealer incentives just result in a lower purchase price (hopefully) and are not taxed.

I am working on a deal involving a one pay lease in Texas on a 2017 AWD X5 for 36 months/10,000 miles per year. I am being told that in order to use sales tax credits on the lease (which seems to be a Texas specific benefit and which is what makes the one pay approach an appealing option over MSDs), they can't use the .00136 money factor since it is an "incentive" rate and they have to use regional money factors (which I haven't run across before in my research). I didn't think there was an incentive rate in place on the X5 right now and that the .00136 money factor was the base rate. Am curious whether anyone has ever heard of that distinction. They also seem to be ignoring the .0003 reduction for a one pay lease (no specific statement that it was tied to the use of sales tax credits). Does anyone know whether that's an incentive that is no longer offered?

Just for the full picture, this is where the offer stands now:

    MSRP: $65,970
Selling Price: $62,990 (seems like they are counting the $1000 option incentive in here although it is not specifically mentioned in their quote)
Adjusted Cap Cost: $63,938.75 (they have capitalized a (somewhat inflated) acquisition fee of $948.75, which I will ask them take out of the capitalized amount since it will be paid upfront)
Money Factor: .00165 (best regional money factor available of .00155 marked up by another .0001)
Total Additional Fees (title and reg): $245.25
    Residual: 58%

    Thanks in advance.

There could be some sort of restriction to using tax credits, but if I had to guess, it's just a straight money factor markup over the base rate. I'm not sure I'd do a full pre-pay to save .00030, when you can do 7 MSDs and save .00049 on the money factor.

They can't markup the $925 acq.fee, so they must have some other fee or tax added into that number.

If you are only getting $2000 off plus the $1000 incentive, then that's not a very good price.

Even if this is your preferred dealer, it might pay to shop around, to see what other dealers have to say about tax credits, etc. That way, you can find out what is real, and what is BS.

Thanks kyfdx. I just needed someone to confirm my gut feeling that they were being intentionally misleading (and also my sense that this wasn't a great deal all around). I would never have been able to figure that out though if not for all of the information that you help provide us around here, so thanks again for the great work.

Hello - working on a 2017 X5 xDrive 35 lease, 36mo/12k a year with no money down. Net Price we settled on is $60,134.20, Residual is 58%, and money factor is .00169 (they admit the national rate is .00137 but claim they need to make money here on this). Tax locally is 7.5%. On those numbers, they are quoting me $891/month all in, which seems high based on my math. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

What is the MSRP and how much money are they asking for at signing?

$891/mo does seem like a high payment for an X5, but we'll need the details to know for sure.

MSRP is $64,045. I don't think they are asking for anything at signing other than the first month's payment, but we haven't gotten that far yet.

I get $863/mo (tax included) with those prices. My guess is that the acquisition fee is being added into the selling price.

elansp Congrats on the deal! Is that payment you quoted total or before taxes? I'm trying to work on something similar and can't quite figure out how you got there. On your numbers I'm getting a base payment of $742~ and an interest payment of $155~ that puts you right at $899 before tax...or $961 with 7% on it. Any thoughts would help me figure out my own math on a deal I'm working on. Thanks!!

    Hi dantastic-

That deal is total (all-in). I also supposedly got loyalty $1k credit along with another $950 where they picked up the last 2 payments on my MDX. I believe there should also be another $1k for Sept but not sure if it's all baked in there. I did take a snapshot of the finance guy's computer screen - looks like my cash (item #13 was $6,081.90 - I did get tire and rim protection for approx. $1,495 and it looks like they've added that into this number). Govt fees 599.25, taxes $2,482.56, Item # 14 Rebate $1k, item # 17 doc fee $498, item # 4 price $70,686.62 total aftmkt 1,594.

    Hope all this helps you.

Thought I would preview a new deal that I am working on with the forum: 2017 X5 xDrive 35i, MSRP $63,695, negotiated price of $59,940 with an extra $1k loyalty on top of that for a final price of $58,940. Then with a 58% residual on 36mo/10k a year lease, a money factor of .00136 and 7.65% Colorado tax, with $0 down the payment came out to $800 all in with taxes included. Only thing I would pay at signing is first month of $800 and acquisition fee of $925. Any thoughts? Many thanks!

I get $798/mo with those numbers - could be a rounding error.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer. Might be tax on the incentive that is the difference.

    Hello,

Looking at 2017 X5. I am getting following numbers from local NJ dealer. MSRP of the car is $70,145, he did not give me final sale price but said it is around $65,000. It will be built as they don't have configuration in stock.

He did give me lease numbers for 12K/36 month lease

    Monthly lease payment of $803,
Due at signing: $4467.35 (Includes: First month payment $803, $925 bank fee, $400 DMV, $253.35 luxury tax and $2086.69 NJ Tax)
    MF: 0.00136

Dealer said residual was 57%.I am unable to get to $803 number with 57% residual and given MF, Do you think he has high residual? Of course I will know at the time of signing but I don't want to go down that path if the residual is higher, I may plan on purchasing vehicle after 3 years. Is this a fair deal?

57% is the correct 36/12 residual; dealer cannot modify this.

With your prices, I get $838/mo.

    Hi guys,
Wanted to "give back" - love these forums. Love to know if folks collectively view this as a good deal. Holistically, think it is good.

MSRP with options ~$69K. Got final (discounted) price of $63.5K. Per other responses, I could could not get MF down to that low level (~.00138). The best I got to was .00155.

I'm putting a fair amount down, so the monthly payment is deceiving...

Let me know what you think, but feel that above is reasonable. Perhaps I could have pushed further for MLF, but made up in discounted price...

Some dealers are unwilling to give both a big discount and the base MF.

If you're happy with the deal, that's all that matters. Congrats, and enjoy your new BMW!

    Hello,

I am looking to lease a 2017 X5 M. Does someone have the lease numbers for X5 M? Also any insight on the sale price that I should try to negotiate would be appreciated. In the past I have purchased cars at invoice or below, not sure how it works with the M models. The dealer has the car in inventory.

    Thanks!

Sorry to piggyback on to Vaxman2014's comment, but I'm also planning to lease a 2017 X5M this month. I'm also very interested in the MF and residual rates for 36 months / 12,000 miles. I've negotiated the deal as "base rate," in terms of the MF. I've seen variable responses regarding the base rates, national versus regional, etc. I believe I'm consider Elite Credit Tier. What should base rate mean for me (i.e. what's my optimal low point I can reach for)? Any input is much appreciated!

I found a dealer who had the car I wanted but he is asking for full MSRP and MF of .00170. Were you able to get a better price?

I went for $1500 over invoice. The best I've read for a 17 is $500 over invoice. If they have it on the lot already, you have more leverage. I don't know the actual MF, other than agreeing on base rate.

    .00136 and 57% for 36/12. $1000 option allowance.

That is the base MF for top tier credit.

Unless things have changed, going from 12k/yr to 10k/yr adds 1% to the residual, I think. It may be 2%, but my memory is leaning to only 1%. MF doesn't matter, so the same as posted above (.00136) and your residual will be 58%.

    MSRP - $67,195, Offer price - $60,476, Residual 58%, MF 0.00136 for 36 months/10k miles
    Everything rolled in $921/month lease.

    1. Is this a good deal
    2. Is the calculation ok. My calculation say $833/month

    Thanks

    I get $732/mo. +tax.

Find out the adjusted CAP cost, and what amounts are rolled in. $925 acq.fee for sure, but what else?

How does the BMW Ultimate Care+ program work for 2017s. When I try to build a new 2017 X5, I see that this $600 is added to the MSRP - does it mean that this 600 dollars also get residualized??? which means I am effectively only paying $250 (+ interest, of course) over a 36 month lease for this program.

Also I see bundle for $1849 that combines BMW Ultimate Care+ and BMW Ultimate Care+1. Again, does this also get residualized since it goes into the MSRP. Does anyone know what does this +1 program add to the Care+ program. My dealer is trying to sell me a $700 'dealer warranty' which will he says will cover upto $7500 of excess wear and tear at the time of turn in. So I am trying to decide which is the best way to go.

    any thoughts appreciated.

If it's part of the factory window sticker, it's residualized.

The $700 is a separate program, which we suggest you pass on.
