Hi wanted to see if someone could tell me the numbers for a 2016 Acura TLX 2.5 and 3.5 technology package in Long Island, NY please? Looking to trade my lease into Acura as I've been with Nissan my whole driving career so want to see if I could take these numbers, bring them directly to the dealership and see if they can match it?

Thank you! I went into the dealership this past weekend and was offered a 2016 TLX 3.5 for 430/ month with 2600 down including all. He could not give me the net cap cost at which I then just walked out. Seemed very high. I am trying to email the dealerships of the males I want, but what's the best approach to this?

Great job walking out! That's the best negotiating tactic!

Get the invoice price of the vehicle you want. Subtract the $3,000 lease cash. Use this as your capitalized cost for the lease.

Plug that number, the car's MSRP, along with the .0007 money factor & 53% residual, as well as your local sales tax rate into the leaseguide.com lease calculator.

Send an email to various dealers in your area (I've bought from Island Acura of Wantagh 7 years ago) as well as some outside your area. If you are in Nassau, try Suffolk, & vise versa. Try Acura of Westchester.

Thank you so much. Just so I am getting this correct, the $3000 lease caseh comes off of the invoice, and not the MSRP right? For instance, I used the MSRP and invoice from edmunds.com, subtracted the 3000 from the invoice, and then plugged the numbers into the leaseguide.com calculator. Here are the numbers I entered:

MSRP 35921
Base Cap Cost 28413 (invoice 31413-3000 lease cash)
Costs added to lease 450
Cap cost reduction 0
Adjusted Cap cost 28863
Res. Value 19038
Money Fac. .0007
Term 36 mo
Sales Tax 8.625%

Monthly Payment 306.45 + 26.43 tax = 332.88

Does this seem correct?

You are assuming they will sell you the car for invoice minus the incentive. That's a big assumption.

$2000 of that money is a factory to dealer incentive. The other $1000 is a consumer incentive. You still have to negotiate a purchase price. Any offer they make will likely include those incentives.

Thank you- yes I know it's a big assumption however when using the template as stated above, you are proactively reaching out to dealers with a particular number already 'in-hand' no? I guess my question would be what the best way (safest number) to go about drumming up an invoice number to use when approaching the dealers?

Great job on the deal above. I am constantly getting quotes of approx 470/month with nothing down.. cap cost is about 35000 still according to them which we know why. May have to wait but will keep trying. -"Any advice?

I don't own a TLX. If you are in Norwalk, make sure you shop the many dealers around the area (Greenwich, Bedford Hills NY, Acura of Westchester) There is plenty of inventory.

I'm looking at my 4th Acura lease. Dealership just called me and offered TLX lease to terminate my TL lease 4 months early.

They quoted me a price/month but I prefer to know the underlying numbers. Can you help me understand current incentives better - I'm scanned this forum already.

I'm looking at 2016 TLX V-6 Tech and SH-AWD.
- Can you tell me residual on both for zipcode 19425

I understand there are 2 lease incentives right now.
$2000K lease cash and $1000 lease cash on V-6 models.

Can I apply my $1k loyalty incentive on top of that for a total of $4K in incentives?

You should be able to stack the loyalty on top of that.

What happens to the remaining 4 payments on your current lease?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. They claim no penalty and it's part of a "pull through" program; Acura will forgive up to 4-6 months (can't remember which) if I lease another Acura. They want to see my TL first. I have a feeling they want to buy it back and if there is enough equity in the deal they will cover the payments. I'll do a deal provided I"m not getting stuck with adding the payments into my next lease.

I just realized I forgot to specify miles. Can you let me know residual on 36/10 on the SH-AWD. I have 12K rollover miles that I can apply.

Add 3% for 10K miles. You should get the payoff amount and trade in values yourself so you can compare to what the dealer is offering. Get a quote from CarMax, if there is one close.

Use any positive equity to cover the up front fees and taxes, not to make a cap reduction. Get a check for anything left over.

If it's a lease, then that tax amount is way too high.

What is the MSRP, and what is your tax rate?

It's not a lease. It's a buying/finance the car price. Taxes are 8.625%. MSRP 36,690

For lease he gave me below numbers.
MSRP; $36,690
Vehicle cost: $31,500
MF 0.00070 Residual: 53% on 4 cyl w/Tech.
on 12k/36 lease he gave me monthly cost of $409 including taxes with out of pocket of $577 ($1327 - $750 lease cash). I don't know how did he get this $1327.

There is $2000 of dealer cash on this model, in addition to the $750.
If I add $1200 in tax, I get about $405/mo., which is pretty close.

$1327 is likely the first payment + $595 acq.fee + DMV fees + $75 doc fee

In NY, lease taxes are assessed against the sum of the payments, and collected up front.

You can choose to pay them at lease inception or add the amount to the cap cost and spread them out across the payments (we prefer the latter).

Thought I would chime in the deal I received over the weekend. This is for a 36/15K lease.

MSRP $36,260.00
Selling Price $32,100.00
Dealer Retail Delivery Fee $597.00
Title Application fee $16.50
Rebates $2,000.00 (Acura dealer cash, $1K; and Acura Loyalty, $1K)
Acquisition Fee $595.00
Adjusted Cap Cost $31,308.50
MF: .0007
Residual $19218 (53%)
Monthly Base payment $399.05
DAS amount $549.05 (monthly payment plus tax on rebate)

My tax rate here is 7.5%. Also, I was given $15,750 for my 2013 Acura TL base which had a payoff of about $21,100.

New Base payment came to $524, with tax payment is $563. New amount due at signing is 713.67 (Tax on rebate and new monthly payment)

Thoughts?

This is about $100 cheaper than what I was paying for my TL.

My tax rate here is 7.5%. Also, I was given $15,750 for my 2013 Acura TL base which had a payoff of about $21,100.

New Base payment came to $524, with tax payment is $563. New amount due at signing is 713.67 (Tax on rebate and new monthly payment)

Thoughts?

This is about $100 cheaper than what I was paying for my TL.

The $5K of negative equity is adding about $135-140/mo to your payment; without that, your deal looks good.
