I have a 2000 Ford Windstar SEL and it is supposedly rated at 17 mpg city and 20-22 mpg highway. Mine has 144,300 miles on it and is averaging 10-16 mpg...Anyone having this low MPG issue?? I don't drive it gently but I don't drive it like a racecar. I drive like we've always driven it. We've had it for 9 years and this is just now starting.

Hard to pinpoint the problem with such high miles. Some basic checks would be in order. "Sniffing" the tailpipe with an emissions tester might reveal some issues, like a "missing" cylinder or skewed air/fuel mixture due to tune-up or 02 sensor issues.

Also, I know this sounds obvious, but also check that the transmission is, in fact, dropping into overdrive when it should, on the highway.
