Thanks to Michaell and Kyfdx for confirming the terms of the XC90. I just want to share the deal that I was able to negotiate yesterday for the community. Had been all in on the 2017 T5 but was steered to the great terms on the leftover 2016 T8's.

2016 XC90 T8 Momentum AWD Hybrid fully loaded
30month/12K (30 month is the current sweet spot)
    MSRP: $76,710
    Selling price: $62,000
    Residual: 54% $41,413
Money Factor: 0.00033 (from 0.00083 with 10 deposits)
Capped Bank Fee: $995 (I know it's marked up but he wasn't budging as we also did deposits to cut into their profit)
    Capped Doc Fee: $80
    Gross Cap Cost: $63,075
    Net cap cost: $60,021

    Rebate of $4,585 applied as:
    Cap Cost Reduction: $3,054
    Sales tax on CCR: $275
    DMV: $544
    First Month: $712

    Base Monthly $653 + 9% tax

Drive offs of $7,500 covering 10 $750 refundable security deposits. Also received a check for $530 to cover the last payment of the current lease.

I thought this was a great deal on effectively a zero drive off lease for a loaded car.

That is an amazing deal - what dealership was that at?

Ontario (SoCal). I was subsequently offered $685 all in at another dealership in a different color that we didn't want. PM me for details if it is allowed.

Can you share the name of the sales rep please? Thanks!

Was there any change to residual and money factors for October - I need the residual and money factor for the 2016 T8 AWD hybrid Momentum for 30/12 and 36/12?

Also, does the $4,585 credit still apply for October?

    Thanks

So there are currently two incentives for leasing the T8, the $4,585 and $9,000?

Is it only on a specific trim, is it for the momentum?

Can you tell me what they are for so when I go to the dealership I know how to properly address them?

    Thanks!

Just want to make sure I understand this correctly - $9000 + $4585 = 13,585 incentives? That sounds amazing.

Is this listed somewhere? Is there anything I can point them to show this incentive when I go to dealer? Thanks!

I was told by a dealer that the $9K isn't new for this month but was available last month as well. So I've gotten worse pricing from multiple dealers because the MF has gone up and residuals have gone down.

    .00160 MF and 55%/52% residual for 30/36 mo, 12K/yr
    Add 1% for 10K/yr
    $4585 Volvo Allowance
Looks like MF is much higher for R-design (0.00160) than Momentum (0.00083). Is this normal? BTW, is using 10 MSDs to bring down the MF a common practice? Thanks.
  • danmgy11danmgy11 Member Posts: 106
If you have the cash available MSD's are a fantastic investment and probably the most effective and cost effectiveway to low your mmonthly payments.

Just make sure that the dealership starts off using the base MF.  I have found letting them know I am going to do MSD's is beat to tell them at the very end of negotiations.

Unfortunately, I gave you the 2017 numbers

    2016 T8 R-Design:
    .00114 MF and 51%/46% residual for 30/36 months, 12K/yr
    $9000 T8 Bonus
    $4585 Non-Cash credit.

But, yes... money factors are all over the map. For no apparent reason, other than they are trying to hit a particular lease payment for a particular vehicle.

MSD programs are commonplace among luxury car makes, but I wouldn't say that their use is common. However, if you have the cash available, the savings can be fairly substantial.

I have a quick question, can a dealership refuse to allow you to use MSD? The local volvo dealershiptold me they wwon't allow me to use them with the deal they offered me.

Also, do you know how man MSD's Volvo allows and how much each one lowers the MF?
    Thanks!

Don't have the details of the Volvo MSD program.

I've not heard of a dealer flat out refusing to allow MSD. Some dealers don't know about or understand the program.

Can a dealer refuse to sell you a vehicle if you don't want to pay their marked up MF? Souldn't the MF be between the buyer and the leasing/financing company?

I have a quick question, can a dealership refuse to allow you to use MSD? The local volvo dealershiptold me they wwon't allow me to use them with the deal they offered me.

Also, do you know how man MSD's Volvo allows and how much each one lowers the MF?
    Thanks!

Don't have the details of the Volvo MSD program.

I've not heard of a dealer flat out refusing to allow MSD. Some dealers don't know about or understand the program.
    I'll double check with them.

Also, do you know how man MSD's Volvo allows and how much each one lowers the MF?

    Thanks!

10 max at 0.00005 each for 0.00050 reduction total.

    Thanks for the assist!

    Hi - Can someone explain how these credits work? $9000 XC90 T8 Bonus & $4585 Non-cash credit.
    Is this how it works?
Example: Selling price = $70k. After credits the price would be $57k?
Or do the credits work another way?
    Thanks!

In my experience the $9K will be built into the selling price that you are quoted. So you can expect a price in the low $60Ks. The $4,585 lease cash can be applied however you want. I.e. to full cap reduction or to pay some driveoffs.

    What he said.

Pretty sure the $4585 will all have to be used as CAP cost reduction, and therefore taxed.

What is the MSRP? Is the $55K number after all applicable incentives and dealer discounts?

    What trim level is this?
