I actually meant 22k/yr or 44k total over 2 years.

Extra miles over 15K are charged up front. Don't know the exact rate, likely between .15-.25.

Subtract 1% from the quoted residuals for 15K per year.

The extra 14,000 miles will cost you between $2100-3500, deducted from the calculated residual.

What ever happened to buying a new car instead of leasing? There is not a single report of a price paid for a 2017 Cherokee. With that said I was wondering if you think a statement by a dealer that says "we will meet or beat any other dealer pricing" means they will compete with out of State dealers? My son is in Montana attending school and will need a car. I live in the Bay Area where there's a lot of competition between dealers and many Cherokees at $8,000 below MSRP (not just a price leader) when you combine factory and dealer discounts. I don't mind having to drive the car out there - it would be a fun road trip for me, but Montana doesn't have sales tax and that's a nice incentive there.

what I've learned is that Montana does not offer the same incentives that CA does when it come to factory incentives. True Car says the same car in Montana would cost $2,000 more which is exactly what I'd save on sales tax. The dealers out there are far a few between with a fraction the inventory sitting on some CA lots, so I'm guessing I'd do better negotiating in CA.

What type of modifications are you talking about? Factory options and packages come at a cost, but are part of the MSRP and will be residualized.

If these are dealer installed accessories, you will pay for 100% of them over the life of the lease.
