May I get numbers for 2016 Camaro 2ss 36/12 & 36/10 for California. Also, are there any incentives for October?

I went into a local Chevy Dealer this afternoon, with the intent of leasing a 2016 2SS that was bonus tagged. I did not end up with the car, but wanted to run the numbers by someone else to see if I am crazy or not.

    The MSRP was 46,155
Selling price 33,285 after 20% and another dealer discount

I saw online lease rates would be around .0015 mf, and 58% residual for a 36 month lease.

Plugging these numbers into an online lease calculator

    http://www.leaseguide.com/calc/

I got a payment around $255/ month with 8% sales tax.

Can anyone explain why the dealers offer was $475/month?

I explained to them that that price was no where near what my calculator suggested and they basically laughed and said not to trust an online calculator, because they deal in real numbers.

I tried to reason with them and show how a mistake must have been made, to no avail.

Am I wrong that they were only trying to rip me off?

The big issue is that the 20% bonus discount promotion is only for purchases, not leases.

Not sure what kind of discount you can get from sticker, if you lease.

But, it is highly unlikely that you'll ever be able to lease a $46K Camaro with a V8 for under $300/mo.

I was told the 20% offer is valid on leases through ally financial and 3rd party banks.

Which would then have really high money factors and low residuals, would be my guess.

We only have the GM Financial numbers.

The dealer claimed they were putting the lease through at .00157 mf and 57% residual. The numbers just do not make sense

Using the data provided, I get $287/mo before tax.

I'd confirm the adjusted cap cost - might be higher than the advertised selling price.

And, the dealer can "claim" anything to you. The math doesn't lie.

The difference between $287 and $485 is about $7000 on the cap cost, assuming the MF and residual are correct.

I tried for specifics and all they would say is that they cant change the numbers their software spits out. I think they are being dishonest and trying to raise the cap cost to make a large profit.

Oh well, not the car for me I guess.

    Thanks for your responses.

Leasing is an easy way for the dealer to 'mask' the numbers to give them a big profit, and you a large payment. When you understand the mechanics behind the payment, it doesn't give the dealer anyplace to hide.

I may not be a genius, but just from reading posts from people like you and others on this site you learn the mechanics behind the deal. Rent charge, depreciation fee, ect. Thank you for all the information you provide.

Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Been a while since I last logged on.
I have a few questions. Numbers for  1ss and 2ss in Southern California

    12k 36
    12k/39
    12k/48
    15k/36
    15k/39
    15k/48

for a 1ss/2ss. What price would I have to haggle down to, to get a payment around 400?
I've heard it done before, and really want to get a new car specially bc there are a few incentives right now.
Also, if you have knowledge in purchasing, what would I have to hagggle to get those prices on a financing the car?
